Werewolf
Lycan's Mate (His Claim) Chapter 34
Fiona's POV
With a reassuring squeeze from my mate, we entered the house and was automatically greeted by some of the pack members that were standing nearby. Most of them had apologetic expressions, so I instantly knew that they were possibly eavesdropping the second they heard the car engine turn off in the garage. I couldn't help but blush at the thought. I knew that I was surrounded by werewolves and they were most likely able to hear my fast beating heart, but just the mere thought of them listening in on what my mate and I were doing only minutes before was just plain embarrassing. As well as rude if you were to ask me.
I simply smiled and waved at the pack members as they all bowed respectfully towards Blake and I. Seeing as many of the people in school have done this gesture before, I wasn't bothered by it. Instead, I welcomed it. The feeling of being praised by the pack and finally acknowledging the fact that they had accepted me as one of their own was beyond phenomenal. I mean, here I was, probably the only human in a house full of werewolves, and they were all treating me like I had been around their entire lives. Even most of the adults that were standing about were sending me bright smiles and bowing in my direction. It was kind of weird getting it from them, especially those who were the elders of the pack, but I appreciated it nonetheless.
Blake suddenly pulled me towards a corner of the room and made sure that I was pressed against the wall as he towered over me in a protective stance. To say that the action didn't stir something inside of me would be a complete lie. I could feel my heart quicken in pace but I tried to rid my mind of any naughty thoughts that I clearly shouldn't be thinking about at this very moment in front of all these people.
"You're doing a wonderful job, beautiful. How are you feeling?"
I shrugged, peering over his large form at some of the pack members before looking back into his eyes.
"In all honesty, I'm doing pretty good. I just feel….like I'm at home."
A bright smile formed across his lips as he stared down at me.
"I'm so glad to hear that. But Fiona, this is your home now. You shouldn't feel afraid of being around those who are your family."
I nodded.
"I know that now." I paused, remembering what had happened earlier with Blake and my dad outside my house.
"And hey, why in the world did you do to my dad?"
His eyebrow raised in confusion.
"Do what?"
"You know," I said, raising my hands in the air for effect,
"that 'mumbo jumbo' crap you did so he could like you."
He chuckled, shaking his head as he leaned his arm over my head so he could get closer to me. That mere action made me gasp softly. Yeah I know, I'm such a drama queen.
"I didn't do anything, Fiona crossed my arms above my chest and glared up at him.
"Yes you did. My dad's one of those overprotective dads who will literally point a gun at any guy who stares at his little girl. You have to have done something to make him like you."
"Oh, so you're saying I'm a bad guy?" He asked, faking innocence as he placed a hand over his heart.
I rolled my eyes, nudging him softly with my shoulder.
"Shut up. I'm just asking because I've never seen him be like that before. Not that I go to parties or anything, I'm just curious."
"Well, I am future Alpha. Us Alphas have that sort of aura that make others, even humans, bow down in respect. Even without them realizing it, they automatically like us and respect our authority over them. I don't know what it is, but it comes in handy at times. Just like when I needed it for your father." He cracked a large smile down at me
"Oh, well, okay then. But you didn't need to frighten him you know."
"Me? Frighten your father? I would never do such a thing." Wow, and I thought I was the drama queen
"You know exactly what I mean. You didn't have to act so macho just so he can know who you are without actually knowing."
"What? It's a natural instinct," he said with a wink and that breathtaking smile of his that always made me weak in the knees.
"Come on, enough about my 'macho-ness'. Let's go back to meeting the pack, okay?
I simply nodded as he kissed me tenderly on my forehead. I sighed contently and intertwined my fingers with his own before we continued our way through the house filled with the Black Forest Pack. I don't know for how long we had been going around the house greeting them, but the next thing I knew, I was being bombarded by questions and hugged tightly, making it hard to breathe and answer every one of them
"Oh my god! It's about time my son brings you home! How are you doing, darling? What is your name again? I'm sorry, I'm just so excited to meet you that your name just slipped out of my mind! Are you enjoying yourself so far? Is the pack treating you nicely? Is there anything you would like Blake to get for you? A drink? Some food?"
If it wasn't for my mate speaking over the rambling woman in front of me, I would've probably drowned with all the questions that were being fired my way. "Mom! You're scaring the poor girl with all of these questions.
The woman in front of me, who I now knew was my mate's mom, immediately blushed and covered her lips as a small smile spread across them.
"I'm so sorry, dear. It's just so nice to finally meet you. I'm Lucy Black, Blake's mother.
I smiled brightly at her, amused at how much this woman can actually talk! But I instantly warmed up to her and felt secure around her like I felt around the other pack members. There wasn't a small voice screaming in my head to make a run for it after realizing I was surrounded by people who could actually turn into a massive werewolf before my very eyes. Instead, I felt right at home, like if I had always belonged there
"It's okay, Mrs. Black. I'm Fiona Christopher. It's nice to meet you.
I extended out my hand and she gracefully shook it, her bright smile never fading. I took the time to acknowledge her appearance, and my was she beautiful.
She was wearing a simple strapless black dress that seemed to fit her perfectly, despite of her age. Her light brown hair was up in a tight bun with bits of it falling across her face. Her hazel brown eyes shined brightly beneath the chandelier that now hung over our heads in the living room. She was simply stunning. I have never seen such a beautiful woman before.
Then again, werewolves tended to have that abnormal beauty compared to humans, like I have come to notice since the day I arrived here. In all honesty, I didn't seem like I could ever compare to the girls and women who lived in this pack
She waved her hand dismissively in the air, her diamond bracelet glistening under the light as she did so.
"Call me Lucy, dear. We are family now, after all.
I blushed at her words, but smiled nonetheless. Just the mere thought of being considered like a daughter to her was overwhelming
"Fiona, it's about time my son brings you inside," a loud, booming voice said
I turned around and noticed how all of the pack members bowed their heads in unison as Blake's dad entered the room. With a slight nod, he made his way towards where we stood and extended his hand. He was wearing a similar attire as Blake; but instead of it being completely black, the black shirt was replaced with a white one and a blue tie. I instantly smiled up at him, immediately recognizing Blake's features in his own and shook his hand as best as I could. Without even knowing, I bowed before him, only to have myself straighten my stance with a confused expression on my face
Blake chuckled beside me and pulled me close to him.
"It's okay, it's instinct for anyone to do that to an Alpha, remember?
"Oh, that's right," I said with a shy smile. Now I knew how my dad must have felt when he first met Blake earlier this evening. Even though he hadn't known exactly what Blake truly was, I knew very well that he could sense some sort of power radiate off of him in waves. But more importantly, now I knew why I had done that the first time I had ever met Blake's dad in the forest the other day
Nicholas smiled down at me with amused eyes.
"There's still a lot for you to learn about our pack. But I know Blake here will show you the ropes."
"Ah yes! Being the Luna is quite a responsibility, my dear. You must tend to the pack, as well as your mate, take care of the children who most likely will be staying here in the mornings while their parents are at work. Oh! And not to mention your own pups who you'll be having in the near future!" Lucy exclaimed, her eyes glistening with excitement.
