Fiona's POV

"Where do you think you're going?

I stopped on my heels before spinning around slowly until I gazed into the darkest, most beautiful eyes I have ever laid eyes on. I tilted my head in question as I adjusted my purse on my right shoulder and held my coat close to my side in my other hand. Where does he think I'm going? Where I go practically every day of the week. I do work you know

I rolled my eyes in annoyance and placed my available hand on my hip as I stared up at him, hating the fact how I have to crane my neck just to see him properly. "Work, duh." Isn't it obvious? It is Tuesday and I had yesterday off

His eyes narrowed at my response, turning a shade darker. Today he wore a similar pair of jeans (I'm starting to think that's a guy thing since both Anthonio and Marcus seem to wear a similar shade as well) with a light gray shirt that clung to his body like a second skin. Boy did he look attractive like that. Especially since his hair was pressed against his forehead, glistening still from the shower he had taken only a couple of minutes ago. Are guys really that fast when it comes to getting ready

"No you're not," he said simply, crossing his arms over his chest, his expression never once wavering

I raised my eyebrows in surprise. I did not see that coming. I would've expected him to say that I won't go unless he comes with me or something; but most definitely not a finality like that one. "What do you mean, 'I'm not'? I have to go to work. My mini vacation is over and I'm pretty busy today," I said, spinning around and reaching for the doorknob, only to have a dark figure suddenly appear before me

I looked up at him in shock once more, but my expression immediately faltered as I glared up at him. I tried pushing him away with all the strength my little body can carry, only to find myself practically forcing a wall to move. And if you guys use common sense, there's no way that wall is moving. Why did he have to be so big? And strong for that matter. I seriously hate being a mere human right now

With a defeated sigh, I took a step back, my glare never once wavering as I mimicked his actions.

"Could you please move? Ben told me that we have a busy day today since most of the elders are returning from the holiday."I looked up at him in shock once more, but my expression immediately faltered as I glared up at him.

His eyebrows pulled together and there was no doubt his wolf was stepping forward due to how dark his eyes seemed to be, even under the luminescent lighting of the room.

"You talked to Ben?" His voice seemed huskier than usual, and not the type that he has when he wakes up. The type when his wolf practically takes over and he is seriously pissed off

Whoops

I let out a soft sigh as I straightened my stance and looked him dead in the eye. Like if his wolf's voice is going to scare me into staying here for the day.

"I do have a cellphone you know." I paused, trying to see if he would relax or something, but I was only met with the same cold stare.

"He texted me last night saying that they had allowed some of the elders to go home for the weekend to spend time with their families. Seeing as it's Tuesday, a good majority of them will be coming back and he needs my help to get them settled."

"There are other nurses that can do that for you. So you're staying here." It was a command, but I wasn't going to take it

I could feel my anger boiling at his words. I don't care if he's Alpha and could boss people around, but there is no way he is going to keep me stuck in here for the rest of the month just because he has some issues with Ben. Why did Alphas have to be so stubborn and hard headed? I know I am, but come on! Can't they at least give me a break? And besides, I'm one of the best paid nurses at the nursing home and I enjoy what I do very much. So if he thinks he's going to lock me up in here, he's got another thing coming.

"There might be other nurses, but it is my job to assist the elderly. I'm the head nurse at the nursing home and I will not stay here for another day! So if you'll excuse me," I said, stepping to the side and reaching for the doorknob hidden underneath his arm,

"I've got to get to work"

Before he could say anything, there was a knock on the door which caught him by surprise. Wow, are these guys going deaf or something? Because even I heard the heavy footsteps nearing the door when I was talking. With the opportunity practically waiting for me to take right in front of me, I pushed him aside, a small smile playing at my lips as he stumbled off towards the window, and opened the door wide. The smile brightened as I was greeted by two familiar faces. One that got on my last nerve, but wasn't too hard to handle. Especially with all the chores I've been making him do. I need to remember to buy a camera so I can film it to use against him

"Morning!" I said cheerfully, all signs of the previous anger diminishing as they smiled in return

"Morning, Fiona," Anthonio said politely, reaching behind him and pulling out his phone before furiously tapping against the touchscreen

"Morn-" Marcus's voice suddenly cut off as he stared down at my attire. His eyebrow raised leisurely as he analyzed me.

"What the heck are you wearing?

"My uniform," I said, wanting to add a 'duh' at the end but trying my best to keep it at bay

"Really? That's a uniform? For what? Are you suddenly a nun or something?" He asked with a disgusted expression on his face as his eyes traced me once more. "It is not doing any justice for you, you know."

I rolled my eyes at his tone.

"First of all, nuns wear black with white, not just white. And second of all," I said, slipping on my coat before continuing. "Since when did you become a fashion consultant?" I asked, not bothering to hide the amusement in my voice

He simply stuck out his tongue before stepping off to the side to let me through. The boys didn't question where I was going and instead followed my lead down the steps towards my car. Blake, on the other hand, didn't seem to want to end the conversation we were having earlier before we were interrupted. Yup, Alphas are really hard headed

"You're not going to work," he called out from the doorframe, but I easily ignored him as I made my way towards the car.

Unlocking the vehicle, I motioned for the boys to slip into the back seats before looking up at Blake who was staring intently down at me. If looks could kill, I'd be dead by now. Good thing I'm already used to his obnoxious ways. I let out a frustrated sigh as I leaned against the door with tired eyes. I was in no mood to deal with this at an early hour

"Blake, you have two choices. You can either stay here and wait until I get off of work, or come along with me. Your choice," I said, waiting patiently for his reply. He seemed to think about it for a few seconds before shutting the door behind him and quietly making his way towards the passenger seat. Within seconds, he was seated with the seatbelt on and a look of anger still written in his features. With a triumphant smile on my face, I hopped into the car and began to make my way to work. Who says you can't outsmart an Alpha

As I pulled into the parking lot, I couldn't help but feel like if we were being watched. Ignoring the sensation, I switched off the ignition and opened the car door with ease. The boys stepped out in unison, their eyes searching the perimeters of the home before making their way towards the entrance alongside me. How in the world were they not cold? I know it was only the beginning of Fall, but the air was chilly enough for people to wear their coats at least. And here they are, strutting across the parking lot with nothing but a mere shirt and jeans on without showing a single sign that the cold air was affecting them. Then again, werewolves are known for their warmer body temperatures. What I wouldn't give to have the same amount of heat as they do inside me right now

Shaking my head, I walked through the automatic doors and smiled immediately the second I noticed Clara sitting behind the counter, typing away some information onto the computer. At the sound of our footsteps, her blue eyes met mine and she gave me an uneasy smile, no doubt remembering what had happened Friday night. I knew by now she had already been informed about my unusual behavior, and I wasn't surprised at her expression at the moment. I will admit, it's still a bit weird finally realizing that she is in fact a werewolf, but seeing her now, there was no doubt in my mind that she truly was one of those very creatures
