Fiona's POV

Settling for an old movie, I felt the couch dip on either side of me as I adjusted my body so both Blake and Anthonio could sit comfortably. With Anthonio on my left, I found myself leaning towards him instead of Blake. With his arm brushing against my right one, I was finding it rather impossible to concentrate on the movie. With every little centimeter I would move away from him, he'll move towards me but would double the distance instead. Stupid sparks.

Twenty minutes had gone by before Anthonio excused himself and walked into the bedroom, pulling out a cellphone I didn't notice earlier from his back pocket. Closing the door shut behind him, I nearly let out a small groan as I found myself completely alone with Blake merely a few centimeters away from me. Well, not completely alone. The sound of plates clanking together and the splashes of water reminded me of Marcus who was only a few feet away from where we sat, continuously muttering things with every splash that was heard

We sat in silence, our eyes trained on the TV until I noticed his left arm move upward before settling itself behind my head. The warmth radiating off of his body was immense and I could feel myself suffocating from the heat despite me wearing a pair of dark jeans and a thin light blue blouse that fell off my left shoulder. Does this kid want me to hyperventilate or something?! I could practically sense him closing the distance between us and I couldn't muster up the strength to move away from him and take Anthonio's previous place

"Hey! Can we go grocery shopping? Because you literally have nothing to eat in here," Marcus said, probably a frown overtaking his features

I jumped at the sound of his voice, somewhat relieved that he had spoken and distracted me long enough to find the strength to stand up and make my way over to him.

"What do you mean? You just ate breakfast."

"Do you seriously not know how big of an appetite a werewolf's could be?" He asked me with a pointed look

"You're the only werewolf who eats every twenty minutes, Marcus," Blake said, leaning his head against the back of the couch and staring up at the ceiling above him.

"Not my fault I'm always hungry," he said with a glare his way before turning back to me.

"Can we please go get more food? What you have now is bound to be gone in only a matter of days with us here." Hmm, he had a point there.

"And besides, it looks like you were in need to go grocery shopping anyway."

I crossed my arms over my chest and glared at him.

"I did do some grocery shopping this week. I just...." My voice trailed off as I remembered that day as if it was yesterday. The man's dark eyes, the powerful aura that radiated off of him, the way he practically threatened my life as I sped as fast as I could away from him. At least now I knew who he was. Well, more like his position in the pack rather than his name. Huh, I wonder what was his name. Either way, I was able to put all my groceries in the back of my car before I sped away, but I never was one to buy many things in the first place.

"You were just what?" Blake asked cautiously, possibly sensing how anxious I had suddenly become

Shaking my head, I reached out for my keys and coat beside the door before motioning for them to follow.

"Come on, let's get a move on. We probably won't be back for a few hours since it's a weekend, " I said in a monotone voice. Before I could make it out the door, I looked towards the bedroom door and called out,

"Ethan, you coming?"

Without uttering a word, he opened the door and stood behind Blake and Marcus who were giving me weird looks. Ignoring their expressions, I moved out of the way and allowed them to exit the apartment before locking the door behind me

"Are you guys serious?" I all but shrieked as I stared at the overflowing cart in front of me. I'm not kidding, its contents is bound to fall out any second. I stared down at it all with wide eyes before looking up at all of them. They all gave me sheepish grins before Anthonio motioned for me to move so he could be the one to push the cart instead of me. I didn't complain though. It would take me weeks to get the damn cart to the cashier with how many things were inside. And yet, he moved it with ease. Have I mentioned how much I hate them for being werewolves? If I haven't, well now you know.

"Oh come on, Fiona, it's not that much," Marcus said as he followed Anthonio out of the aisle we were currently in

"Are you kidding me? I barely eat most of this stuff! And at least 90% of it all is bad for you!" I said as I eyed the different bags of chips that were piled on top of most of the food. Or should I say junk food. I think the healthiest thing in that cart has to be the 24-pack of water bottles at the bottom.

"Relax, beautiful. Believe me, with Marcus here, it'll be gone before you know it," Blake said as he placed a hand on my shoulder, my body immediately reacting to his touch with a slight shiver

"I could already hear my wallet crying," I mumbled as we stopped behind an old lady who was leisurely placing her items in front of the cashier. Anthonio moved around our cart and volunteered to help, which the lady took graciously as she opened her purse and began to search for her own wallet.

I was about to mimic the old lady's actions until a large hand grabbed my own. I didn't need to look up to know exactly who it was. I stared down at his hand, not taking the risk to look into his eyes in fear I might get lost in them like I had done so many times before

"Don't worry, I got this," Blake said, thankfully removing his hand before reaching for his back pocket where he pulled out a leather wallet

"You sure? I don't mind paying-" I started, but was quickly interrupted by him once more

"Nonsense. You should use the money you receive from your job to pamper yourself. I'll take care of this," he said, waving a platinum credit card in the air before turning to look at the cashier (which I seriously wish he hadn't)

She had short blonde hair with big brown eyes that shined under the lights above her head. She was averaged sized with a curvy figure and delicate, flawless skin. As soon as she looked up, her eyes immediately focused on Blake in front of her and a broad smile spread across her lips. Even her freaking teeth were pearly whites! Was there seriously not one thing about this woman that wasn't perfect?

I let out a small groan as I focused my attention on the different kinds of candy that Marcus seemed to be eyeing with hungry eyes. I couldn't help but laugh quietly at him, but he didn't seem to hear. And to think that they could hear anything

"Well, hello there sugar," she said in an unusual Southern accent. One would think that by hearing that, you would automatically fall in love with this girl. But you'd be wrong my friend. The mere sound of her voice nearly made me crack up in front of her. It sounded like she had some nasal congestion or something, but I was more than positive that's how she sounded everyday. I most definitely didn't want to hear how she sounded when she was sick. As if this voice wasn't annoying enough

"I haven't seen you around here," she said with a wide grin.

"This your first time coming here?"

Blake simply nodded, a polite smile on his lips but his eyes seemed rather distant as he stared down at her. But apparently she didn't take the sign

I felt Blake's eyes on me briefly before he turned back to the cashier. "Something like that."

"Well, you chose a great place to stay, sugar," she continued, scanning the items before looking up at him every so often.

"What brings you here? You looking for a girl?" Talk about being direct

I felt Blake's eyes on me briefly before he turned back to the cashier.

"Something like that."

I peered up at him from the corner of my eye and immediately noticed Marcus looking at me with a sly smile. He wiggled his eyebrows before motioning with his head to the girl in front of Blake. I simply glared at him and nudged him on the shoulder before walking around Blake and stepping beside Anthonio who was casually placing the bags back in the cart

"Really?" Her voice squeaked, and she immediately puffed out her chest and pursed her lips in his direction. If she was trying to be seductive, she was failing miserably at it. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at the gesture.

"Because I know a few available ladies here in this neighborhood."

"Oh really? Like who exactly?" Blake asked with mild interest as he handed her the credit card. I noticed how her fingers seemed to linger above his own for a little longer than necessary before she swiped the card

"Oh, I don't know. I know for a fact that I'm single and ready to mingle," she with a wink his way. You have got to be kidding. Who the heck uses a line like that?

I nearly laughed at Blake's expression. Apparently he was thinking the same thing because his eyebrows shot upward and he was staring down at the girl like if she had suddenly grown a second head. Unlike me who tried to suppress my laughter by covering my mouth with the palm of my hand, Marcus had no shame in letting out a bark of laughter

"May I help you, sir?" the girl asked, annoyance clearly written on her face as she stared at Marcus who continued to laugh beside Blake

He shook his hand in the air, taking in deep breaths before responding,

"Oh, believe me, you've done enough for me ma'am. I most definitely needed that." With a low chuckle, he stepped around Blake before patting him on the shoulder.

"Good luck," he whispered loudly into his ear before stepping behind me and leaning his elbow on my shoulder. I quickly shook him off which only earned me a chuckle from him

"That's nice to hear...." Blake paused, looking down at her name tag which was just above her left breast before continuing,

"Ciara. But I don't think you're my type."

Apparently Ciara thought Blake was eyeing her breasts or something because she seemed to puff them out even more (if that was even possible) and batted her eyes at him.

"You sure about that?" she asked, her tone going up an octave for some reason

Blake simply nodded, grabbing the card from her outstretched hand and making sure their fingertips didn't collide.

"I'm pretty sure. And besides," He paused, looking over at me and giving me a crooked smile,

"I have a thing for brunettes."

My cheeks turned a scarlet red as I looked down, trying not to fidget under his intense gaze. But for some reason, I could feel another pair of eyes on me and I couldn't help but look up to see who they belonged to. And, lucky for me, it had to be Ciara. Her once pale skin was now a bright red, and it was most definitely not because she was blushing at all. If looks could kill, the daggers she was shooting my way would've had me six feet under by now. And to make matters worse (on her part), Blake walked up to me and wrapped an arm securely around my waist, pulling me closer to his tall form. I nearly melted in his grasp as the sparks ignited between us. As I looked into his eyes, I noticed how they suddenly turned a shade darker, nearly resembling the color of the night and I couldn't help but blush even harder as I felt a weird sensation stir in the pit of my stomach.

Tightening his grip, he looked back at the girl with a small smile and said,

"Thank you, Ciara. Have a nice day." With a small wave, he spun me around and led me out of the store.

Behind me, I could hear Ciara say through gritted teeth,

"You, too....b*tch."

I instantly felt Blake stiffen beside me at the girl's words and before he could turn around and possibly rip her head off (which I wouldn't mind seeing by the way), I did the first thing that came to mind. Stepping away from him slightly, I wrapped my left arm around his waist as best as I could and pulled him forward along with me. From the corner of my eye, I could see his chest heaving up and down in a rapid motion as he tried to calm himself down. His breathing eased in a matter seconds after I wrapped my arm around him, and I was more than relieved to see that. I most definitely didn't want Blake to get kicked out of the territory for harming a human. Well, I think she was a human. Probably not.

Suddenly, from the corner of my eye, I noticed a dark figure standing just a couple of feet away from the doors as we stepped into the chilly air. I turned my head to the right and there, standing just behind a column of the building, was the Beta of the Lincroft Pack.
