Werewolf
Lycan's Mate (His Claim) Chapter 55
Fiona's POV
"What happened to Maxwell?!"
I felt his body tense against me and I knew it was a question he did not want me to ask. But how could I not? I had to know what had happened to my kidnapper, especially when my kidnapper turned out to be my mate's brother
"He's where he belongs," he muttered. I looked up at him in question and he sighed at my expression.
"He's dead, Fiona".
I couldn't help the gasp that escaped my lips as I stared up at him in shock.
"Who killed him?" I whispered, afraid of the answer.
He stared deeply into my eyes as if searching for something before he let out a heavy sigh. His grip on me loosened and I found myself feeling cold after I noticed him scoot away from me. He leaned against the backboard, closing his eyes as he let another sigh escape his lips.
"I know you won't like the answer."
"Please tell me," I asked, my voice shaking
Giving me a single glance, his jaw tightened before he answered through gritted teeth,
"I killed him."
My mouth dropped wide open as I stared in horror at my mate. He was joking, right? Blake couldn't possibly have killed his own brother. He must've sent someone else to do it like Anthonio or Marcus, his most trusted pack members. But by the look in his eyes, I knew that he was telling me the honest truth. Blake Black had actually killed his own brother.
"You're not lying, are you?"
He shook his head, a pained expression spreading cross his features before he looked away.
"I'm not proud of it, especially not my parents. They have lost their eldest son. And the worst part is, it was their other child who killed him." He looked up at me, his eyes glazing over as un-shed tears began to form within them.
"And I know you're not proud of it. I know you see me as a monster now. I wouldn't blame you if you left." His words struck me by surprise more than the realization that he indeed had killed Maxwell. For some odd reason, I was glad that he had done it. Who knows what else would've happened if Maxwell would've remained alive in some jail cell or something? Or maybe even have escaped? Would I have been able to cope with the feeling that he might come after me again? To forever live fearing that he might send someone to torture me again? Or worse, come after me himself and make me suffer until I begged for mercy? The mere thoughts of him still being alive made my blood run cold. As I looked up at Blake, I could tell that he took my reaction the wrong way and I could easily see the pain written in his eyes
Before he could stand up and walk away, I made my way over him, placing myself where I was straddling him and took his face in my hands. Looking deeply into his eyes, I asked slowly,
"What makes you think I would see you that way?"
He shrugged, trying to look away but my hands held his chin firmly in place.
"I've killed someone. And not just someone, Fiona, but many. What they say about werewolves is right. We are monsters."
I let out a soft sigh as I continued to stare at him, a small smile playing at my lips.
"I don't see any monster here. Do you?"
He was about to retort until I planted my lips against his own which made him instantly freeze beneath me. Pulling him closer, I wrapped my arms around his neck, grabbing his hair and tugging it gently which caused him to let out a pleasurable growl. The mere sound made me shiver and I found myself pressing my body against his own. He immediately reacted and wrapped his strong arms around my waist, diminishing any sort of space that was previously left between
Reluctantly, I pulled away and stared into his dark eyes that were now completely black.
"You saved me, Blake. If you wouldn't have done those things, I wouldn't be here right now."
My words got to him and he let out a growl. It was loud enough to make the walls around us tremble and I had no doubt that the people that were currently downstairs were able to hear it.
"I would never let that happen."
I smiled, kissing his lips tenderly before saying,
"I know. You'll never let anyone hurt me ever again."
"Damn right, I won't," he said with a chuckle. Suddenly his face grew serious as he looked up at me, his eyes turning back to their original dark brown.
"Fiona, I vow to never let anyone hurt you ever again. I will forever stay by your side and would try to be the best mate I could be."
I smiled a goofy grin, not caring if I looked like an idiot right now.
"You already are." I leaned down, kissing him before I pulled away once more, a thought swirling around in my mind.
"Do you really think I'll make a good Luna someday?"
He nodded immediately without hesitation.
"I don't think, I know. Like I've always told you Fiona, you may not see it in you, but you were born to become Luna. You're strong and have the kindest heart I have ever seen. Seeing you last night, all beaten and bloody," he let out a small growl as he uttered those words before continuing,
"any other person would've been crying out in pain. Even a werewolf. But even if you were near unconsciousness, you held it all in. You didn't cry out or complain. You stood strong and I know that man who was torturing you wouldn't have gone that far if you would've simply cried out from the very beginning." He nodded immediately without hesitation. "I don't think, I know. Like I've always told you Fiona, you may not see it in you, but you were born to become Luna. You're strong and have the kindest heart I have ever seen. Seeing you last night, all beaten and bloody," he let out a small growl as he uttered those words before continuing,
"You don't know that," I muttered, trailing circles against the fabric of his black shirt on his chest
He placed a single finger on my chin, lifting my face up until my eyes met his. "I do know that, Fiona. The goddess doesn't choose any ordinary werewolf, or in this case, human, to be the rightful Luna of a pack. You have been through so much throughout your life and you have never once faltered. The way you handled Cicilia that day was beyond amazing and I am so proud to call you my mate. And I know for a fact that the pack would be proud to call you their Luna.
"But with me being the first ever Luna who is a human, wouldn't that cause the pack to always be in danger? Once the other packs find out, as well as more rogues, wouldn't they immediately strike to take us down? You all say I will become a great Luna, but even if I do, you all fail to miss the fact that with me becoming one, it would lead this pack downhill. The pack will-"
"Protect themselves and their Luna with all of their might. The pack members will do anything for their future Luna. Even if it means sacrificing their lives to protect you."
"But I don't want them to die for me. I'm just a mere human living amongst werewolves. I have no idea why the goddess even made me your mate. I'm not worth anything."
He shook his head, pulling a strand of hair behind my ear as he looked deeply into my eyes.
"You're so much more than that, Fiona. I hate that you don't see it, but I will try my very best to show that you're worth protecting. That you're meant to become Luna of this pack. And that you're most definitely meant to be my mate. I love you, Fiona Christopher. More than you'll ever know."
A tear streamed down my face which he instantly wiped away with the palm of his hand. Without hesitation, he brought his lips to mine. The sensation never grew old and I relished the taste of him on my taste buds. Before I knew it, I was being pressed down against the soft mattress with his body pinning me down, not too hard to cause any pain. I loved the feeling of his body pressed against mine. It brought me a sense of security that no other man could make me feel. Not even Maxwell if he was to ever succeed and mark me, ultimately making me his. The mere thought made me shudder but the feeling of Blake's tongue against mine warmed my body up to the core
His lips left mine and began to leave a hot trail of kisses along my neck. He reached down to the spot where his mark shall forever stay imprinted on my skin, nibbling it and causing me to moan against him. I arched my back as his fingers trailed down my body, his mouth still sending a pleasurable feeling down my spine. It just felt so good that I couldn't get enough of him, but I knew that I had the rest of my life to experience many things with the man I am deeply in love with. It took all my willpower to push him away. We were both breathless as we looked into each other's eyes. The mere action made me want to reach out and pull him in for another make-out session, but I knew that there were many people waiting for me downstairs. Even if I wasn't leaving the pack house, which I now realized was exactly where I was at the moment, I couldn't remain cooped up in here any longer
"I think I should take a shower before I meet everyone downstairs."
His eyebrows pulled together as he let out a heavy sigh.
"You sure you're ready for that? I could easily tell them to come back another time. You do need your rest."
I raised my eyebrow at him.
"Like if you're allowing me to rest right now."
He chuckled, reaching down and brushing his lips against mine as he said, "But that's because I'm special against everyone else."
"We heard that!"
We both erupted into a fit of giggles as Marcus's voice reached our ears. Blake shook his head as he looked over his shoulder and towards the door.
"And someone is dead for eavesdropping," he said in a low and deadly tone. The second the words escaped his lips, we both heard a set of footsteps rush down the stairs and back to where everyone else probably was.
I rolled my eyes.
"You've got to love him."
He turned back to me, his eyes darkening a shade.
"But not as much as us, right?" I could instantly tell the change in his voice and I couldn't help but shudder in delight at the mere sound. I must admit, Blake's wolf's voice was extremely sexy
"Never," I whispered as I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him close for another kiss. This one was different than the last. It was more gentle and warm, but still held the same amount of love and passion I always felt whenever I kissed Blake. I could most definitely get used to this
Pulling away, he helped me sit up and get on my feet. Kissing me once more, he pushed me gently towards the bathroom that was directly beside the bed near the window. As I entered the bathroom, I couldn't help but let out a squeal as I felt one of his hands collide with my bottom. I instinctively covered it as I spun around to face him, only to realize that he was already darting out the door. He winked at me before shutting it behind him. I swear I'm going to get him once I'm finished getting ready
Entering the bathroom, I didn't hesitate to take off my clothes and hop into the shower, allowing the warm water to ease the tension off of my shoulders. Despite Blake making me feel better, I couldn't help the cold feeling that enveloped me the second he left the room. My body yearned for his touch, but I knew that I would be right next to him in only a matter of time.
No matter how hard I tried to push the thoughts away, my mind kept on rewinding on our conversation over and over again. I knew his words were sincere and he was trying his best to reassure me, but his words hadn't done what I was hoping for them to do. I wanted them to erase all the nervousness and fear that still resided in me since the moment I found out that I had to become Luna one day. My stubborn mind refused to take his words, as well as everyone else's, into consideration and just let everything fall into place. With every second that passed by with me thinking of the day I would finally become Luna, the more unsure my heart became of my future
