Werewolf
Lycan's Mate (His Claim) Chapter 121
Fiona's POV
Blake stared at my dad, un-moving. His eyes were pitch black, no doubt his wolf anticipating for my father to act in a particular manner. And boy was he right to expect the unexpected
Before I could register what was happening, my dad was suddenly standing in front of me in a protective stance with his hand clutching my arm rather forcefully. He had a wild look in his eye as he slowly maneuvered us towards the opened back door. I tried to fight against him, but I guess his parental instinct must have kicked in the moment Blake stepped into the backyard because his grip wasn't loosening no matter how hard I tried to pull away. I let out a small yelp of pain as my dad tightened his hand on my arm, but that was definitely a wrong move on his part
My dad suddenly stopped dead in his tracks at the sound of Blake'' threatening growls. Peering over my dad's shoulder, I noticed he was now hunched over, his eyes completely obsidian. It was his wolf that was now facing my father, and he clearly did not like how I had screamed out at my father's actions
I tried to pull away once more, but my dad's grip wouldn't budge. Letting out a growl of frustration, I moved around my dad before he could comprehend my movements. My dad stared at me in horror, not liking the sight of his little girl not being concealed from the beast in front of us
"Fiona, what the hell are you doing? Get behind me!" my dad cried out, tugging at my arm once more. Another jolt of pain coursed through me, but I gritted my teeth as to not let Blake or his wolf hear just how much my dad was actually hurting me
"No dad, it's okay!"
"Are you mad?! Get behind me!" He repeated, pulling me hard as he backed away from Blake once more.
Blake and his wolf clearly did not like my dad's choice of movements because they stalked closer, their growls thundering all around us to the point that it nearly shook the house's walls and forest's trees. He was beyond pissed off at how my dad was handling me, his mate, and there was no calming him down after my previous yelp.I glared at my dad before turning over to Blake. "Blake, stop!"
My dad suddenly stopped moving then, his body frozen in place as he processed what I had just said. Looking back at him, I noticed his eyes widen as he stared at me.
"Blake?" he whispered, his grip loosening
I took the opportunity then to yank myself free from his grasp. I rubbed my arm, flinching at the contact. My dad really did have a stronger grip than I thought. Blake must have noticed my reaction because he snarled once more at my dad and began moving towards him. His movements were swifter this time now that my dad didn't have a hold of me.
Oh no
Moving as quickly as I could, I blocked Blake's path, easily halting his tracks. He stared down at me, his eyes still a pitch black as he breathed in heavily
"Blake, stop," I repeated sternly, reaching out my hand to stroke his dark fur
The contact instantly made his muscles relax and his breathing slow down. Within seconds, I noticed his eyes turning back into their usual dark brown and I couldn't help but smile at the sight. He took a step forward and leaned his head against my hand. Reaching out, I began to stroke his fur with my other hand and my smiled broadened at the sound of the pleasant growls escaping his parted lips
"Fiona, what are you doing? Get away from that thing!" my dad shouted, seeming to snap out of whatever trance he was previously in the moment he noticed Blake close the gap between us
Stroking his fur once more, I turned around and looked at my dad.
"It's okay, dad. He's not going to hurt you," I said, shooting a glance at Blake who let out a quiet whine. He was definitely going to pay for scaring the crap out of my father
"How….how do you know that? Is that really…..?" His voice trailed off as he continued to stare at Blake in his wolf form
Blake turned to look at my dad then, letting out a puff of air to answer his unfinished question. My dad continued to stare at him in shock, his body trembling slightly but somehow managing to remain standing. He tilted his head and leaned forward a bit, his eyes squinting to get a better look at Blake's wolf. Seconds passed before his eyes widened
"Blake?"
My dad took a hesitant step back as Blake straightened his stance, easily towering over my father. That one movement definitely did it
One second my dad was staring at Blake in horror, the next he was sprawled out on the ground, completely passed out. My dad had just fainted
"Dad!" I cried out, running over to him. Kneeling down beside his head, I ran my hands over his face and I was surprised t see how cold his skin felt beneath my fingertips. It was definitely not the wind that had caused his temperature to drop so suddenly. He was bloody white for crying out loud
Oh, he was definitely going to pay now
"Look what you did!" I shouted, turning over to my mate who now looked guiltily my way.
"You made my dad faint, you idiot!"
He let out a soft whimper as he made his way towards us, stopping on the other side of my father. He peered down at my dad before nudging him with his long nose.
"Was this your plan all along? To scare the crap out of him?" I shrieked, still trying to desperately wake my dad up. This man was out like a light
Blake let out another puff of air and sat down. He actually looked really adorable that way, especially with the puppy dog eyes he was now giving me as he whimpered softly
"Oh no," I said, sitting back and pointing a finger at him.
"You have no right to give me that look. I wanted to do this my way, and although you were right in needing to show him in order to convince him, look how your plan turned out!" I said, pointing at my unconscious dad lying between us
Blake looked down at my dad before suddenly giving me a goofy grin. This man actually found this all funny! I glared at him and peered down at my dad once more. He seemed to be doing alright, even his breathing was slowly starting to level out. As much as I hated to admit it, the situation was actually pretty funny. I tried to fight the smile that was threatening to spread across my lips. My mate scared my father to the point of him passing out and I found the whole thing just as funny as he did.
I'm going to hell for this.
