The Bad Boy's Dirty Little Secret BL Chapter 114: Always
Kai’s P.O.V
Six years later…
The beach stretched out before us in endless waves of sapphire and teal, the soft rush of the tide a soothing soundtrack to the most important day of our lives.
We had chosen Night’s father’s beach house in Florida as the venue—an idyllic spot with sprawling, sun-kissed sand and a gentle breeze that carried the salt of the sea.
A pathway of white rose petals led from the entrance of the beach house to the altar, which was an artful arch made of intertwined driftwood, adorned with clusters of white lilies and ivy.
Delicate strings of fairy lights were wrapped around nearby palm trees, and lanterns hung at varying heights, swaying gently with the breeze as they caught the late afternoon sunlight, creating a warm golden glow.
A canopy of sheer white fabric fluttered above rows of white wooden chairs, draped with ribbons of blue and green that mirrored the colors of the ocean.
Guests filled the seats, familiar faces and old friends from college, some of whom we hadn’t seen in years. Landon and Devon sat near the front, their hands entwined as they shared whispers. They were the first of our friend group to get married, and they had adopted a little girl as their daughter.
Meanwhile, Saya laughed with Tanya and Trey, who still bickered playfully but smiled with an ease that spoke of their years together, a bond honed with their twin children. Saya and Josh, unfortunately, did not last long together, and they had brought their respective partners with them, with Saya being engaged and Josh not yet ready to settle down.
Cole, too, unexpectedly ended up having a boyfriend, and he waved as he caught my eye, raising a glass in silent salute.
As for me and Night, I worked for a top new company in the media industry as an anchor, while Night had a flourishing modeling career. As a side hustle, he also helped his father run their company.
Today the air was rich with the scent of the sea and subtle floral notes from the blooms around us. A live string quartet played softly, their music blending with the rhythmic crashing of the waves.
The sun was setting, casting everything in a wash of amber and rose gold as I stood with Night under the archway. I looked into Night’s eyes, my chest tight with emotions I couldn’t put into words.
It was as if the entire world had faded away, leaving just the two of us standing at the edge of forever.
I took a breath, steadying myself as I began. “From the moment we met, I knew my life had changed forever. You’ve been my rock, my partner, and my greatest love. Today, I vow to walk beside you, through every sunrise and storm, for the rest of my days.”
The light caught in Night’s eyes as he blinked back tears. His voice was soft, yet it resonated with the conviction that only he could bring. “Kai, you have been my light in the darkest times and my laughter in moments of silence. I promise to love you fiercely, to stand by your side, and to build a life filled with love and unwavering support. You are my everything, and I choose you, today and always.”
I didn’t even realize I was holding my breath until we sealed our vows with a kiss. The cheers of our friends and family surged around us, and I felt the warmth of the sun on my back, as if nature itself was giving its blessing.
A playful grin tugged at my lips as I picked up a bouquet. Night mirrored my movement, and with a shared glance, we tossed them into the crowd. The moment they left my hand, laughter and shouts filled the air, and I watched as Josh and Saya grabbed them, surprised smiles breaking across their faces. The crowd roared with approval, whistling and clapping, and the happiness radiated through me like a firework.
I caught sight of Kia off to the side, her smile bright and proud. She was thriving, single and loving life, climbing the ladder of her career with determination. My eyes then found Rosalie, elegantly standing with her new husband. I hadn’t seen her this content in years, and it stirred something in me—gratitude, perhaps, that she’d found her own peace.
Night and I made our way over to her. “Rosalie,” Night started, his voice low and sincere. “We’re sorry for everything you went through because of us.”
She held our gaze, her eyes softer than I remembered. “I forgave you long ago,” she said, and I felt a rush of relief I didn’t know I needed. “We all suffered in our own ways, but I’ve moved on. I found peace, and I’m happy now. I’m glad to see that after everything, you both have found yours too.”
There was a pause, one that spoke more than words could. The pain we had all shared, the years of anger and confusion—it was all behind us now. Rosalie’s smile was genuine as she added, “You both deserve this happiness. Start your forever with no shadows behind you.”
I glanced at Night, feeling the squeeze of his hand in mine. And as I looked back at the faces of the people who had been with us through it all, I knew this was the beginning of something even greater.
The celebration was everything we could have hoped for and more. Laughter and music filled the air as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden glow that danced across the waves as the stars started to scatter across the sky.
Night and I moved together on the makeshift dance floor, surrounded by friends and family who had supported us through every high and low.
I could see the reflection of all our shared memories in Night’s eyes—every late-night talk, every challenge we’d overcome, and every quiet moment that had strengthened us.
The world seemed to pause as we leaned in closer, the cheers and laughter around us fading into the background. Our lips met in a tender kiss, sealing not just this perfect day, but a promise for all the days to come.
As we pulled back, I searched his face and found my own thoughts mirrored there: life wouldn’t always be easy, but it didn’t have to be perfect.
We would face whatever came our way, side by side. And in that moment, surrounded by those who had become our family, with the waves singing their timeless song behind us, I knew that whatever challenges lay ahead, we would handle them together.
Always.
