The Bad Boy's Dirty Little Secret BL Chapter 53: Y-Girl
Kai’s P.O.V
“I am so, so sorry!” Saya apologized for the thousandth time as she sat across from us in the private booth of the restaurant where we had all decided to head for dinner.
A men’s washroom hadn't exactly seemed like the best place to have this conversation that we were having right now.
“If I had known you were already with someone, I wouldn’t have used you to drive him away! I swear!” Saya didn’t raise her head as she spoke, but when I saw her lips tremble, I knew I couldn’t let her wallow in guilt for something she had accidentally witnessed.
“Night?” I turned towards Night who sat next to me, still looking a bit pissed, but now that he saw Saya with his own eyes and let her join us for dinner, I could tell that his anger was no more than a façade that he wanted to keep up, just because he didn’t want to be proven wrong.
“So…tell me what really happened?” Night asked her directly, choosing to ignore me.
I smirked, letting him have his moment. It was alright that he got angry, that he got jealous. It meant he cared about me the same way I cared about him. Besides, our make out session afterwards had been quite hot. Maybe I should try to anger him on purpose sometimes?
“Well…” Saya began, looking from me to Night before she finally sighed, took a deep breath, and began revealing her end of the story.
“I have this senior in my faculty that wants to date me. I tried to say no to him several times but he is adamant on not giving up.” She sighed again, her hand going to her temple to massage them like she had a headache. “I literally tried everything I could. I repeatedly told him no; threw away the flowers he gave me into the trash, even though I hated doing that, I even gave away the food and drinks he bought me to my classmates, because throwing away food just doesn’t seem right.” She looked up at us in exasperation. “But he just keeps doing this over and over again, until I finally got tired and told him that I was already dating someone.”
“Ah…” I raised my eyebrows. “And who better to play your boyfriend than me?”
“Well…you do have a reputation.” Saya looked at me sheepishly. “But it was because you and Ruby started dating after you got paired together during the contest last year, so I thought it was…well…I thought it would be a perfect excuse.”
“But the guy still followed you.” I told her. “Is he still giving you a hard time?”
“He didn’t really want to believe me, and told me he needed proof.” She sighed once again. “He even started asking around in my class if they had seen me with someone. So me and my friends came up with this solution. I know it isn't a permanent one but since you’re the Student Council Vice-President, and a 3rd year senior, he won’t try to mess with you. But I didn’t know that…”
“We aren’t officially out.” Night cut in, his voice sounding less angry now that he had heard her side of the story. “But that’s not the point. You need to notify authorities if this continues. What if he starts stalking you home?”
“I…didn’t really want to do something dramatic.” Saya told him, sounding a little guilty. “You see, I know what he’s doing isn't ideal, but he’s a 2nd year student who got in on a scholarship, with a bright future ahead of him. If I notify the authorities, he may lose his scholarship and worse, get kicked out of the university. And I don’t want to be responsible for ruining his life like that.”
“I understand where you’re coming from,” I told her, “but Night is also right. Today you got lucky since I reacted just how you wanted me to. But I don’t think this little façade will work forever. You’re a freshman and you still have about four years until you graduate. If he, by some means, doesn’t move on from you even after what he saw today…what do you think will happen?”
Saya looked thoughtful, as if she was only just starting to realize the consequences that might occur in the near future. I did pity her, but I wanted to help as well. Since the contest was still ongoing, Saya and I would still be paired during photoshoots and other activities, so she should be safe for the time being. But no one knows what the future would hold.
In all honesty, I hated men who couldn’t take a simple ‘no’ for an answer. There is nothing thrilling or exciting about going after a woman who isn't interested in you. And those who think of it as a challenge are walking, talking red-flags.
“You know what…let Kai help you for now, see if it scares him away.” Night interjected, much to my surprise. “But if he doesn’t stop and still tries to stalk you or approach you, we should notify the authorities.”
“But-”
“Saya, by not reporting him, you’re indirectly encouraging that person’s behavior, which out just make him think that his actions would have no consequences.” Night cut her off before Saya could protest. “I get that you don’t want to ruin his future, but wouldn’t turning him into a criminal be even worse that losing his scholarship?”
“I…I…” Saya looked at us with wide eyes, swallowing before she nodded. “I’m sorry…I never thought of it like that. I’ll try to be upfront from now on.”
“Let’s wait till the contest ends.” I told her, reassuringly. “It’ll be better since it’ll give us time to study his behavior. But if he doesn’t listen, then that’s it for him.”
Just as we finally reached an understanding, the waiter came back with our food and we all dug in as it was getting late already and Saya needed to get back home.
“Here.” Night pushed his fries in my direction, almost a bit hesitantly.
I couldn’t help but smile, this feeling in my gut telling me that it was his way of ‘apologizing’ for getting me wrong. Although I don’t know if either of us regretted the fight we had earlier. If Saya hadn't interrupted, things would’ve…escalated further.
“Thanks.” I accepted a fry, placing it between my lips and sucking on it in a very suggestive way, that had Night’s cheeks turning red, even as he tried to slam his foot over mine, under the table, but failed miserably.
“By the way…can I take a picture of you two?”
“Huh?” I looked up from my chicken sandwich to find Saya looking at Night and me with a stupidly large smile on her face. I had almost forgotten that we had company.
“I won’t share it with anyone, I swear!” She gave us a mock salute. “But the two of you look so kawaii that I can’t help myself! So…can I? Pretty please?!”
Suddenly, Night burst out laughing, leaving me speechless and clueless as to what was going on.
Why did Saya want to take our picture? What was she gonna do with it? And why did she look so happy about it?
“You’re a fujiyoshi? A Y-girl?” Night asked, to which Saya nodded enthusiastically.
“I mean…I always thought the two of you were so attractive when you were in the pool photoshoot together.” She giggled, fanning her face even though it was freezing inside the restaurant. “I mean…I even printed out some of the pictures and joined them together, but I always thought that it was just going to stay in my fantasy forever and that there’s no way the two of you can pair up, since…well, Kai didn’t seem gay…but…oh my god! This is like…the best thing that can ever happen in my life!”
I blinked, my food momentarily forgotten as I watched Night’s delighted smile as he conversed with Saya, all his past reservations completely forgotten. For a second, it seemed like the two of them were actually besties, rather than just having met.
“Okay, I’ll let you take our picture, but on two conditions.” Night placed a hand on my shoulder and pulled me closer just as Saya got out her phone. “You can never show that picture to anyone, not until we announce our relationship publicly.”
“Agreed!” Saya nodded immediately. “Next?”
“Send me everything you got.”
“Affirmative!” She held up her phone. “Now pose, please.”
“Hey, wait a minute! What exactly is even going on here-”
“I’ll explain later.”
With that, Night turned my face towards him with his hand under my chin, and before I knew what was happening, his lips were on mine…and then I heard a squeal and a series of flashes from the other side of the table, but I was too engrossed in the kiss to care.
