Night’s P.O.V

“Seriously, Kai?” I snorted with laughter, at the same time trying to hide it from the other men inside, in case someone in there starts suffering from small-dick-complex. “You’re one of those bitches too?”

“Hey! Who’re you calling a bitch?” Kai looked morbidly offended.

“People who think gay men would just look at another naked man and immediately start to get a hard on for them.” I told him in a deadpan voice, all traces of laughter now erased. “Honestly, Kai, I thought you knew me better.”

“You do realize that every time I see you at a bar, you end up at the washroom of all places and that too with a different man and possibly with your pants down?” Kai pointed out the obvious, looking back at the washroom door for emphasis. “And just for your kind information, this is more for your safety than theirs!”

“How so?” I frowned.

“Because just like you said, it’s a cautionary tale that gay men get a hard on when they see other men openly exposing their junks in front of them and not everyone is comfortable with a gay man walking into a changing room where pretty much everyone is exposing themselves.” He sighed. “Can’t help it, can we? Society is a little bit of a hypocrite when it comes to walking around naked. If I say I don’t want to see someone shoving their dick in my face, the first thing they’d question if I was gay or not. It wouldn’t even matter if I was comfortable or not.”

Wow…now that was something I hadn't expected from him…at all.

All my earlier doubts and worries vanished into thin air as Kai’s words settled within me, like a warm blanket wrapping around my body in a freezing cold winter night. It was the kind of comfort that I always longed for but hardly ever found.

That didn’t mean that all uncertainties in our possible relationship vanished as well, but it still felt nice.

“Hey, you two!” A guy came out of the changing room then, and from the size of his muscles, he looked like he could crush us like ants. “Why aren’t you guys done changing yet?”

“Hey…Asher.” Kai narrowed his eyes at the man for an instant, probably trying to remember his name. “I’m assisting Night here. He’s running a high fever, so I didn’t want him to be spreading it around.”

“Ah! I see.” Body-builder-Asher, looked at me with pitiful eyes. “Oh! I see. Take care of him though. The pools really cold. I hope he’s gonna be able to handle it.”

“I’ll be just fine.” I told him with a tight smile. “My dorm-mate here, is just overreacting.”

Asher gave out a sudden laugh…before his eyes landed on Kai’s murderous expression and his laughter died down immediately. “I-I’ll head to the p-pool…get ready for the shoot. See you guys!”

And then he made a dash for it.

I was about to ask Kai what it felt like to have a taste of his own medicine, but I was interrupted by his sudden outburst.

“My goodness! I can’t believe Zach actually got someone to wear those flimsy g-strings!”

It was only then that I actually noticed that underneath all that muscle, Asher was indeed, wearing a light purple g-string for men underwear…although a very modest one at that.

“How could anyone agree to those things?” Kai shuddered, looking at Asher’s not-so-exposed ass before fixing me with a look. “What?”

I had to try my best to suppress another burst of laugher this time. And I was pretty sure that Kai was going to smack me if I did laugh at him once more.

For someone with quiet a reputation as a bad boy womanizer…he seemed to be somewhat…innocent?

Now…how do I tell him that I myself had modeled for an underwear company a year back and the g-string I had worn hadn't been nearly half as modest as what Asher wore here, and that pictures of my asscheeks still graced the internet somewhere till date, along with the pages of some magazine?

Yeah…I’d probably shouldn’t risk giving Kai a heart attack just yet…right?

“Nothing.” I shook my head, answering his earlier question. “I don’t think his swimwear was that revealing.”

“Were you checking him out?”

“Depends…will you be jealous?”

I grinned at Kai’s bewildered expression at having been caught offguard, but he didn’t get any chance to counter attack since the washroom/makeshift-changing room started to clear out and then the two of us got inside to quickly change into our swimwear as well before heading to the pool area to start clicking photos for the solo and group photoshoots for the contest and the photobook that would be sold at the competition as merchandise to raise funds for the council.

I gotta say, the Student Council President was quiet intelligent indeed. Since most of the viewers attending the final competition will be women, the magazines will sell out pretty fast considering that only the hottest guys from all the faculties had been chosen to participate.

“Tell me if you start feeling unwell.” Kai gave me a brief warning before we parted ways to have our separate photoshoots. I watches from the sidelines as Kai went first and if I was being honest, he was better than several of the men I had worked with in the industry.

He understood the vision of the photographer and adjusted immediately and he hardly threw tantrums. And most importantly, his visuals were insane.

If he ever decided to join the modeling industry, I bet he could give some people a serious run for their money.

I was also pleasantly surprised by the way the photography team and the lighting team, the staff and the makeup artists handled the whole shoot. To think that they were all students as well, trying to add to their resume while honing their skill was testament to their proficiency.

However, halfway through the shoots, I began to realize that the meds that the nurse had given me had started to wear off as my head started to ache and I started to feel a bit tired. But it was still bearable, so I didn’t find the need to inform Kai just yet.

Besides, I was a model and I had done this before. It wasn’t anything I couldn’t handle.

“Night.” Zach called out right then. “You’re up next.”

“Coming.” I walked over to the spotlight, standing by the side of the pool where they were shooting first before the pool shots were taken. The bright lights that surrounded me were nothing out of the ordinary. In fact, they weren’t as bright as some of the industrial grade ones that made you feel like you were standing in the middle of a furnace and the heat from these lights kinda felt comforting.

I looked over to the sides, at the other men standing by the pool, trying to figure out where exactly Kai was, but the lights made dark spots dance in my vision and I wasn’t able to see him clearly.

However…I was a little conflicted if it was the lights or the fever that was causing the black spots in my vision.

“Ready Night?” Zach called out, probably after watching me hesitate.

“Yes.” I nodded, putting on a smile and adjusting my pose. “Ready when you are.”

“Awesome!” Zach clapped his hands together. “Since you’re a professional, I’m sure I wouldn’t need to guide you much at all.”

Thankfully, I was able to live up to that hype and the poolside shoot was a breeze to get by. However, as soon as I set foot inside the pool, I started shivering.

The water was freezing cold, which was understandable since it was pretty hot and humid outside, but thanks to my fever, the weather didn’t matter anymore. And I had a feeling that this was going to make my fever worse.

But if my years of professionalism had taught me anything, it was to smile through the pain. So that’s what I did. I tried to hide my shivers the best I could and I smiled for the camera, posing just the way Zach and the cameraman wanted me to.

“Great job, Night!” Zach’s voice sounded overly enthusiastic from outside the pool. “Now, for the final group photos! Bring in the ladies!”

Ladies?
