The Bad Boy's Dirty Little Secret BL Chapter 27: Jealousy
Kai’s P.O.V
“Huh?” I blinked, several times, to try to understand the reason behind the sudden sharpness in his voice.
“Don’t ‘huh’ me!” His eyes narrowed to slits as he gave me a thunderous expression. “You told me to not go around dating or having one-night stands, but here you are, frolicking around like a harlot!”
“Excuse me?” A harlot? Was he kidding me! What fucking era was this again?
Letting go of my collar, he brushed his fingers on my neck, making me shiver involuntarily, even though I tried to hide the reaction.
And then he brought his fingers up to my face, making me narrow my eyes so I could look at what he was trying to show me.
“Glitter?” I asked incredulously.
“Unless you’re parading around with some woman in your arms…” he spoke through gritted teeth, “explain to me how glitter ended up on your neck!”
“Huh?” I stood up straight, since bending down to Night’s level to talk to him was giving me back pain, and then I wiped at my neck with my own hands. Just like before, it came up covered with some of those glimmer shit. “Damnit!”
“Kai! If you think it’s okay to fool around while I have to wait for you to get yo-”
“It’s from a dress trial! Jesus! Stop acting like I cheated on you!” I snapped at him, but felt guilty instantly when I remembered that he hadn't exactly been feeling well.
“It’s not what you think, Night.” I told him in a softer voice, being much more patient this time. “I was at the student council room after class, arranging clothes and stuff for the contest. Zach told me to try on a tux and stuff, it was all glittery.”
“Glittery? You don’t like that stuff.” He frowned, falling back onto the bed like he couldn’t stay sitting any longer. “I remember you giving me these weird looks when I wore those glittery jackets.”
Did I really give him weird looks? The only thing I remember thinking was that he look good in almost everything he wore. Not everyone could pull off those jackets with the metallic studs and all. And Night looked damn dashing in them.
“You’re exaggerating!” I told him sharply. “And why are you lying down again? Go shower! Don’t make me drag your ass to the bathroom!”
But instead of being intimidated, Night barely smirked at me. “Someone’s eager to get me naked…”
I let out a sigh of frustration. If he wasn’t sick, I’d have thought he was drunk. Why was he so damn horny while being sick?
“Night!” I warned, placing my hands on my waist for added impact. “Get up or I’m throwing a bucket of ice cold water on your head!”
“Hmmm.” Was the only answer I got from him as he closed his eyes, a small smile playing on his lips.
“Damnit, Night! I’m not joking!” I snapped. “This isn’t some shitty boys love romcom! I’m not giving you a stupid sponge bath!”
“Damn!” He laughed out at my comment. “And here I was getting eager to have your hands all over me.”
Finally…he sat up in bed once again, stretching his arms to the side before getting up.
“I’ll be right back.” He sidestepped me, scratching his head as he walked over to the washroom.
I shook my head at his antics, before getting down to work on the room. It was a humongous mess.
But before that, I ordered us dinner from a nearby restaurant.
The first thing I did was to throw out the food. The foul stench coming from it told me that there was no salvaging this. So even though it hurt to throw it away, I had to.
And then I was running around the room, cleaning out the floor and moving his clothes and his bag into his closet. It didn’t take me all that long to clean up, thankfully. Since the room was tiny to begin with.
But just as I was changing into more comfortable clothes, something that Night had just told me, before I ushered him into the bathroom, came to my mind.
“You told me to not go around dating or having one-night stands, but here you are, frolicking around like a harlot!”
Wait a minute…why did that sound like…jealousy?
Was Night angry because he thought I wasn’t holding up my part of the deal? Or was he angry thinking that I was out fucking some random chick?
Yup…that clearly sounded like jealousy. I would know. I had been acting strange about him for a while now.
Especially when Zach mentioned pairing him up with Ruby.
It’s not that I didn’t trust Night…I didn’t trust Ruby.
She could sometimes go to certain questionable lengths to get what she wants.
Night came out of the shower then, already looking a lot better than he had been about a few minutes ago.
“Feeling better?” I asked him as he rubbed the towel vigorously onto his head.
“Much.” He sighed, plopping back down on his bed. “But don’t ask me to eat. I’m not hungry, Kai and I’d hate to waste food again.”
“I’ll keep it in the fridge, but you need to have a few bites.” I let him know. “How did you not notice you were sick? How did your parents not notice it?”
“I got sick yesterday, I think.” He shrugged. “I think it was around noon that I started to feel nauseous. But I didn’t tell anyone.”
I didn’t like to go around announcing that I was unwell either, but usually, my mom was the first to figure out that I wasn’t doing well, if not her, then my sister definitely noticed.
“You’re not being as annoying as usual.” She would tell me, but then, she would sit beside my bed and force food down my throat or give me meds from time to time, so my fever went down. It was always a bonus to have a doctor in the house.
But for Night’s mom not to have noticed that her son was sick? Something definitely felt off about that.
“Did you fight with your parents?” I asked, taking a seat on the table facing him. “Is that why you got sick?”
A weary expression donned on his face. “Don’t wanna talk about it.”
Something definitely happened.
But I didn’t want to snoop around either, no matter how curious I was. It was his family business and I wouldn’t like it either if someone kept pestering me about personal stuff, no matter how close we were.
“So…what were you doing at the Council today?” Night asked me, probably feeling guilty about the chipped out reply earlier. “Just trying out clothes for the contest?”
“No, we were working on who should pair up with who for the couple’s round. And the photoshoot as well.” I told him, because he was going to find out anyway.
“We need to be paired up for those events?” A frown creased his brows. “Are you pairing up with your ex again? The one who sat on my lap to get you jealous?”
I felt my lips tilt up just the slightest at the hint of sarcasm in his voice. Too bad I was going to have to disappoint him.
“No. I’m not paired up with Ruby.” I watched his shoulders sag in relief. “But you are.”
“Holy shit!”
