The Bad Boy's Dirty Little Secret BL Chapter 40: Reunion
Night’s P.O.V
“Goodness, he is alive!” Was the first thing my friends told me as they all but pounced on top of me as soon as I stepped out of the car in front of my faculty.
“Ow! Guys! That hurts!” I tried to warn them as their weight became too unbearable, but it was already too late and the three of us went tumbling to the ground all together.
But even as my back hurt and I think I may have scraped my palm…the laughter echoing all around me instantly made me feel more welcome and at peace than I had felt in the entirety of last week.
“Look at you fools,” Tanya shook her head, her brunette locks flying in the wind as she looked down at Landon, Trey and I still lying on the ground. “Get up before someone sweeps you off like trash!”
“We’re up! We’re up!” Trey called out as he scrambled to his feet and then offered us a hand so we could get off the floor as well.
Honestly, I didn’t mind the tackle one bit. If anything, it helped make me feel at ease now that I was with my best friends once again.
But before we could chat some more and catch up on lost time, the bell rang, signaling that first class of the day was about to begin.
“Damn it!” Tanya’s eyes widened as she looked at her watch. “I’m late! I’ll see you guys at lunch!”
With that, she began running in the direction of the Faculty of Medicine while the three of us headed to class, with them asking me how I was doing and more facts about my health.
“We couldn’t reach you at all.” Landon told us as we walked inside the classroom. “What happened to your phone?”
“I dropped it.” I lied through my teeth. “I got a new phone though, I’ll give you guys my number.”
We found our seats at the back of the class, but Landon had to take the seat in a row in front of us instead, since there were only two chairs left at the back.
“So? How’s it going with seducing your senior?”
Trey dropped his bag onto the desk and plopped down beside me with a huff. It was only nine in the morning and it looked like he was already having a tough time and from what I could tell, it wasn’t because of the tackle we had earlier.
“Rough night?” I smirked at the red bruise forming on his cheek. Good thing the ice had helped me with my bruise, so it wasn’t showing as much…also…the power of a good concealer.
“You don’t know the half of it.” He groaned, stretching his neck. “Tanya thinks I’m cheating on her! I was working at the bar last night and some chick spilled her drink on me. She was just trying to wipe it off for god’s sake!”
“Seriously, Trey?” I raised my eyebrows at him. “Spilling drinks? Wiping? Did she ask you to take your shirt off as well? You know…since it was wet and you might catch a cold.”
“How the hell did you…shit!” He groaned, rubbing at his eyes in frustration. “Oldest trick in the books!”
“And you still fell for it.” I sighed. “No wonder Tanya slapped you.”
“Punched.” He winced. “My girl is a black belt, she doesn’t do slaps. She punches the crap outta you and then asks questions when she’s calm.”
“Yeah, yeah. I get it.” I shook my head at my lovesick best friend. “She’s perfect for you.”
“Do you have concealer or something?” He reached for my backpack before I slapped his hand away. “Come on! Don’t be stingy! I can’t be seen with a bruise on my face all day long! I have a reputation to maintain.”
“And what makes you think I have a concealer?” I scoffed at him. “Because I’m gay?”
“No shitface!” Trey pulled on a strand of my hair hard enough to make me yelp. “Because of your modeling and ad gigs!”
“What makes you think I carry makeup around in my bag?” I shook my head, taking out my notebook and pen as I saw the teacher enter the classroom. “Whatever. Just pay attention for now. I’ll help you cover it up after class.”
“Fine.” Trey grumbled but followed suit as the lessons began for the day.
To be honest, it was difficult concentrating on class now that I was already in school, so close to meeting Kai and yet, so far away.
Trey wasn’t the only person in turbulent waters and I hated to admit it but I wish I could ask him for help sometimes. We’ve been best friends for over four years now, but still, there were so many things that he didn’t know about me yet.
Come to think of it…there were so many things about me that no one knew, not even my closest friends…then how was I going to tell Kai about all of it when he had only just started to accept his feelings towards me?
Kai has always been straight…probably would have been his whole life if he hadn't met me. And that makes me even more insecure. Did he still feel the same about me now? Or has our separation this past week made him realize that he never had any feelings for me in the first place?
Trey must have noticed me squirming in my seat because he decided to put me out of my misery.
“A special senior has been frequenting this faculty quiet a lot recently.” Trey smirked when my head whipped towards him. “He’s been coming here every single day since the past week…waiting right outside class in hopes to see someone…”
“You’re joking!” I shook my head.
“Wanna bet?” Trey’s smirk widened. “Thousand bucks?”
I looked at him in disbelief. Kai? In this faculty?
Which was why, when I saw him standing outside the doors to my classroom at the end of our lessons…I felt myself sigh in relief, even though my heart felt heavy at the thought of keeping secrets from him.
“Look who’s here to get their man.” Trey gave my shoulders a light shove while smiling cheekily. “You went home for a week and he’s already impatient to see you. If that isn’t the definition of ‘whipped’, then I don’t know what is.”
“You are, asshole!” I gave him a sour look. “You suffer domestic violence from your girlfriend but still run back to her like a lost puppy. Find your own damn concealer!”
“Huh? Seriously?” Trey groaned as we both packed up our stuff and got up from our seats, waiting for the teacher to leave before we followed behind him.
The slight uptilt of Kai’s lips as soon as he saw me, the look of sheer relief in his eyes…it made my stomach knot. Moving to stand in front of him, I looked into his cool blue eyes to see if he was angry at me for not coming over to meet him this morning instead of directly attending classes, but I couldn’t quite read his emotions.
“Let’s skip second half.” His usual husky voice sounded a bit rougher than usual.
He didn’t ask how I was or how I had been…only that one sentence that sounded more like a command.
However, I felt my own lips tilt upward at that comment. Yup. Definitely angry. But anger meant that he cared for me enough to get mad, right?
“Trey,” I turned toward my best friend who just greeted me with a sly smile. “Take care of my roll call for me, will you? I don’t want anyone knowing I missed class.”
“Have fun.” He waved at me as I started following Kai down the hallway. “And don’t forget to use-”
I gave him a death glare over my shoulder, challenging him to finish that sentence. But Trey knew better, so he just laughed his ass off as he headed in the opposite direction, to head to our next class.
I don’t even remember how we reached the dorm, but the elevator ride to our dorm room seemed to take forever and I knew from the strain on his jaw that Kai was just as impatient, but he hadn't said anything to me just yet.
Finally, the second I unlocked the door, I was being roughly shoved up against the wall as the door closed shut with a bang and Kai’s lips were on mine an instant later.
It felt like…I could breathe again. His lips moved on mine like it always belonged here, with me.
His hands went to my nape, pulling me closer in a possessive hold, as I dropped my backpack onto the floor to wrap my arms around his neck, his chest pressing up against me roughly as he shoved me further up against the wall. I felt myself smile into the kiss.
“Someone’s angry.” I whispered, my voice husky as I pulled away momentarily to catch my breath.
“You were gone for more than a week!” He took in a deep breath, although his jaw was tense. “You didn’t pick up my calls ever since that night. Do you even have the slightest idea how worried I was? What I had been through these last few days?”
This was all I ever wanted. This confirmation that Kai felt even a semblance of the longing that I did when I had been away from him. Hearing them in words was a bittersweet experience that made me swallow hard, my throat suddenly chocked with emotions.
But then his hands went to my shirt, unbuttoning it roughly until he got impatient and just decided to rip off the rest of it, sending a button flying onto the floor.
“Will you even bother telling me what’s going on?” He asked as his fingers traces my shoulders, pulling the shirt aside to expose my chest.
I swallowed hard, feeling my heart thrash against my ribcage but for an entirely different reason. “My phone fell from my hands and broke. So my parents got me a new one.”
“Yeah?” He raised his eyebrows, his eyes still lingering on my chest.
Pulling me away from the wall, Kai backed me up until my knees hit the side of the bed and I tripped over, falling back on the bed with a huff. Before I could get my hair out of my eyes, Kai was already climbing on top of me, straddling my hips as he leaned forward to place a kiss to the centre of my chest.
Sucking in a surprised breath, I wound my fingers into his hair as he kissed his way up my chest, licking and sucking on my collarbone as he made his way to my neck. I couldn’t hold back a moan any longer when I felt him lick on my Adam’s apple before sucking on it with his lips.
“Kai…” I breathed out as he rose to face me and then his lips met mine in a fury of a kiss that held not only his anger but also his worry…his whole heart.
Taking the opportunity, I flipped him over and straddled his hips like he had been doing mine a second ago; my hands going to his shirt to unbutton the piece of clothing that separated us. But then I brought my lips down on his, my hand resting on his taut abdomen as I managed to undo all the buttons.
I couldn’t believe that this was happening right now… If this was a dream then I never wanted to wake up from it.
“You still won’t admit that you missed me, will you?” I asked him breathlessly, breaking the kiss temporarily so I could rise up to get rid of my shirt and throw it to the side.
“I was waiting for you.”
