The Bad Boy's Dirty Little Secret BL Chapter 69: My Boyfriend
Kai’s P.O.V
At that point everyone else had already finished washing up, and they were all settling down into the mattresses, getting ready to have some downtime. But the doorbell brought everyone back onto their feet as we all looked at each other in shock and worry.
“Wh-what now?” Saya stuttered out, looking at everyone around her with fear in her eyes. “Who could it be past midnight?”
“Did you two invite someone else?” Devon asked me. “Or order some pizza? Something that can tell us that the devil didn’t return with the cops or something?”
I shook my head, “No. We didn’t order anything…and no one else was invited.”
“Fuck! Does that mean…Ruby really brought the cops with her?” Cole asked nervously.
Tanya shook her head—finally, the first show of confidence. “No; not possible. She wouldn’t do that after the stuff we pulled.” She exchanged a look with Saya, who agreed with her.
“Well, standing here waiting around for someone to figure it out isn’t gonna do shit,” I said, exasperated, “so why don’t you all stay put over here, and I’ll open the door, see who it is?”
Nobody said yes or no, so I proceeded anyway, crossing over all the mattresses so I could open the door. But when I finally got to it…much to my surprise, standing outside the door was my sister, Kia… and she looked like she was in pretty bad shape.
“Kia?” My eyes widened in shock as she stumbled into my apartment, looking like a train wreck. This was the first time I had seen my older sister in this shape and to say that I was flabbergasted…would be an understatement.
She had a black eye and bruises that almost seemed to have a yellow hue around them, and even dried blood on her busted lips. Her hair was a mess and she looked like she had been running.
“Holy shit! Kia!” I tried to maintain my composure, not wanting to scare her or my friends, but seeing her like this was way too much for me. “Who the fuck did this to you?”
However, Kia didn’t say anything immediately, as she kept on looking behind me, into the apartment, where all my friends were looking at her with just as much shock as I had been in only a moment ago.
“Oh…” she swallowed nervously. “It seems that I’m interrupting something, I’m sorry; I wasn’t expecting you to have company. I…should’ve called ahead…I-I’ll just come back some other time. I’m sorry again; I really didn’t mean to disturb you.”
“Hold on just a fucking second, Kia,” I caught her arm before she could turn around and flee. “Do you really think I’m about to let you walk out of here at this hour, especially when you look like that? What kind of a brother do you think I am?”
But surprisingly, Kia struggled against my grip, not wanting to turn around and come back inside once again.
Unexpectedly, Night grabbed my hand and whispered, “Maybe she doesn’t want other people to hear her problems. She just wants to talk to her brother in private, Kai. And us being here isn't helping.” Then, Night turned to the others, and spoke louder so they could all hear him. “Guys... I think we should call it a night and get back home. Let Kai talk to his sister in private.”
It didn’t take a lot to convince them as they could easily see how serious Kia’s condition was and how she needed my help. In no time, they all quickly gather their things and start to leave. “Let’s just talk at school tomorrow, Kai. Thanks for tonight. Goodbye.”
As I watched Night put on a jacket over his PJ’s and reach for his wallet, I realized belatedly that he, too, was going to act like he was just another one of my friends who came to visit, and slip away just like that.
As much as I wanted to keep pretending that he was just another one of my friend and let him slip away, it was far too late for him to go to one of our friend’s houses and I think out of all my family…my sister would be the most accommodating one to learn about my little secret. So before he could leave, I caught his arm, and hauled him back into the room along with my sister.
“Where are you running off to?” I asked with a frown. “You’re staying with me.”
“Huh? Uh…” He shifted his gaze uneasily from me to my sister who was watching us closely. “W-what do you mean? I’m just…gonna head home…like the rest of the guys…”
From the way he wouldn’t meet my eyes again, I could tell that he just wanted to protect our secret from being discovered by my family, since I was the one who had asked him for time. But since Kia had come to me in the middle of the night, in the state she was in, I needed his support more than ever. I needed Night to be by my side, so that I could face whatever was to come.
Saya was the last out of the door by this time, giving us all a wave and thanking us for the night, and as she joined the rest of the group, I could tell that they were waiting for Night to join as well, as they had hoped he would come with them. But when Devon met my eyes, I shook my head slightly, telling him that it was alright.
Devon nodded and then he ushered the rest of the gang away and it wasn’t long before I heard the engine start up.
So now it was just the three of us, in the entrance to my apartment and I knew things were about to get messy. Night tried to shake my hand off so he could go, but I only held him tighter.
“He’ll stay,” I told Kia, before Night could speak. “Night isn’t going anywhere because he lives here as well.”
“Oh…Is he your roommate?” my sister asked, looking at us nervously as I shut the apartment door and ushered her inside.
“Yes, I am—” Night started to say, but I cut him off before he could even finish.
“He is more than just my roommate or my friend,” I said firmly, and from the corner of my eye, I saw Night looking at me almost frantically, wondering what the hell I was doing.
I smiled at Kia, intertwining my hand together with his. “He’s my boyfriend.”
