Druid in the Marvel Universe Chapter 107: Angelina's Relatives

6 min 59.3K views

The next day, Alvin was all set to get Ginny outta New York.

The nosy media dug up Alvin's pic from some surveillance footage and figured out who he was. They were floored to find out he was the principal of Lincoln Valley School!

One host even cracked a joke, "With a principal like that, the bad kids at school must be sweating bullets about skipping class!"

The wolves got their fifteen minutes of fame too. They saved at least forty people from the chaos yesterday. Sure, they were a bit rough around the edges, but hey, they saved lives, right?

A pretty lady who'd lost her front teeth was on TV, thanking these furry heroes with her lisping mouth.

The mayor of New York was even thinking about giving the wolves some medals!

As for Peter, reporting on someone with a bad fashion sense was nowhere near as cool as covering these awesome wolves. Everyone would rather see wolves than some circus trapeze artist!

A bunch of kids from Hellfire Boulevard posted selfies with the ghost wolves on Facebook, naming each one: "Thor," "Dom," "Bloodfang," "Darkshadow," "Venomstrike." This wasn't a secret on Hellfire Boulevard.

But it caused a huge buzz online. If this wasn't Hellfire Boulevard, the sketchiest place in New York, it would've been swarmed by curious tourists!

Even so, early this morning, there were quite a few strangers sneaking around the streets and alleys.

Some folks pointed out that those were wolves! But who cared?

Early in the morning, Alvin got a call from Olivia; tons of media outlets wanted to interview him.

He shut down those interview requests real quick, packed up, and got ready to hit the road!

Seeing "Bloodfang" standing guard at the street corner, getting mobbed by a few brave teenage girls for a crazy photo session, trying to break free but not wanting to hurt them, Alvin shivered. It was freaky!

Just as he was about to leave, Jessica stopped him. The young girl looked at Alvin with a pouty face she must've picked up from TV, like a desperate wife watching her husband about to cheat!

Alvin sighed and nodded. Fine, she could come along. If he didn't agree, he might as well kiss his hand goodbye. Girl, don't you know your own strength?

Jessica cheered, turned around, and grabbed the new waiter, giving him some instructions. Then she pulled out a huge suitcase from behind the bar, still in her waitress uniform, and stood in front of Alvin, ready to roll!

Alvin looked around. Steve had gone to the school early; he bought some training gear with his own money, which was arriving today.

Frank had also gone to the school, but he was there to see Ethan and check on some progress. Nick had gone with him; his leg might still need some tweaks. Frank thought Ethan, a high-energy physics PhD from MIT, was the right guy for the job!

Jack, the slacker, had fooled around with Donna all night and probably wouldn't wake up until noon. Men really had it tough in this regard; didn't you see Donna going to work all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed early in the morning?

Leaving the restaurant to Joseph's family, Alvin patted Samuel, the little black worker, on the shoulder, and then, holding Ginny and dragging a suitcase, he set off.

Because they had an extra passenger, Ginny was stuck in the back seat with Jessica, which made her super grumpy. She liked sitting in the front seat with her dad. But Jessica was cool too, especially after the rich lady bought a ton of snacks for her. She decided to let it slide!

On the highway, Alvin cranked up the radio, letting some chill country tunes fill the car. He hummed along as he drove. It’s a long haul from New York to Los Angeles, like 40 hours, but Alvin wasn’t in any rush. He planned to hit up some fun spots along the way. In the back seat, Jessica was flipping through a travel guide, picking out their first pit stop.

They spotted a woman waving her hand, trying to hitch a ride. Alvin pulled over because, well, she was drop-dead gorgeous. She had on a silk dress, long dark brown hair, tanned skin, pouty lips, and, well, let’s just say she was hard to ignore.

If she didn’t have a nerdy-looking dude with her, if Jessica wasn’t in the back seat pouting, and if there wasn’t a bullet-riddled, beat-up Ferrari by the roadside, Alvin might’ve thought this was a dream come true.

Rolling down the passenger window, Alvin flashed a smile and said, "Hey there! Haven’t we met somewhere before? I’m sure of it!"

The beauty leaned down, resting her arms on the window, her eyes scanning the car. Her lips curled into a smile as she said, "Mind if we borrow your car for a bit? I’ll leave you an address, and you can send me the bill."

As she spoke, she pulled out a tricked-out M1911 from who knows where, resting it on the window. The gun had some sweet engravings that matched the tattoos on her hand. Usually, when someone does that, it means they’re a crack shot and really love their gun!

Jessica and Ginny in the back seat weren’t scared at all. They just stared at the beauty, wondering how she had the guts to try and jack Alvin’s car. They also shot disdainful looks at the nerdy guy behind her.

The dude was holding a tiny revolver, trying to point it at Alvin, but he was so nervous it kept drifting towards the beauty’s head.

Alvin looked at the guy and said, "Hey, buddy, point that thing up a bit. Don’t hurt the lady; you guys are partners, right?"

The beauty turned to look, rolled her eyes, then looked back at Alvin, smiling, "Thanks for the tip. Now, can you get out of the car? I’m in a hurry!"

Alvin stared at her for a few seconds, sighed, and said, "If it were any other time, I might’ve agreed, really!

But I’m taking my daughter to Los Angeles; it’s a father-daughter trip, so...

Maybe you can hitch a ride. If it’s on the way, I won’t even charge you, considering you’re a beauty!"

The beauty glanced at Ginny in the back seat, curious about Alvin’s calmness. Not many people stay cool with a gun in their face. Even a lecherous guy shouldn’t be this chill!

Looking at the two girls in the back seat, compared to the fool behind her, and seeing Alvin’s teasing grin, the beauty felt a bit embarrassed!

Yeah, doing bad stuff needs the right partner; otherwise, it’s a mess!

The beauty stared at Alvin for a few seconds, trying to spot any nervousness in his eyes, but she was let down. He didn’t care about her threat at all.

She’d seen a few people who could ignore a gun, all of them stone-cold killers, but Alvin looked pretty ordinary.

After thinking for a moment, the beauty decided not to risk it; the fool behind her was important!

Just as she was putting away her gun, resting her hands on the window to show she wasn’t a threat, and getting ready to step back, Alvin spoke up, "Hey, I’m serious. I think we should know each other, or maybe you’ve got a relative named Angelina. You look a lot like her!"

As he spoke, Alvin’s eyes couldn’t help but glance down, muttering, "Of course, you’re much younger!"
