Druid in the Marvel Universe Chapter 35: Tough as Bones!

That night, the three vampires were packed off to Stark Industries' secret laboratory.

After throwing up, Stark felt unusually clear-headed and had several good ideas for weapons against vampires. He needed some test subjects to verify the effectiveness of his weapons.

Chief George was extremely satisfied with the final outcome. Even in his best imagination, things hadn't gone this smoothly. He happily went back to prepare to organize a team specifically to deal with vampires. Of course, he had to go to Washington first for a meeting of unknown content.

In the following days, Alvin didn't rest either. He wasn't a savior who could single-handedly charge into the vampires' lair and wipe them all out.

But Alvin was a man of action. "I can't solve the vampire problem for all of New York, but I can keep Hell's Kitchen clean. I can protect my family, my kids, and the students at the school from the threat of vampires."

With a physical reference, Ghost Wolf could easily sniff out the scent of vampires. During the day, he would take Ghost Wolf and search street by street, dragging out those vampires hiding in the shadows to expose them to sunlight. It was no difficulty for him.

When Alvin, along with "Athens," "Rome," and "Sparta," the three Ghost Wolves, stepped onto the first street outside his neighborhood, Hell's Kitchen started to boil like oil poured into water.

The various gangs in Hell's Kitchen began to spread the word and prepared nervously. Everyone in Hell's Kitchen knew that although Alvin was the boss of three blocks, he hated gangs.

If Alvin wanted to expand his territory, many gangs might bleed and disappear, just like the former 25th Street. To this day, no one knows where the original gang members went.

Standing at the corner of 27th Street, Alvin looked ahead where a dozen cars blocked the entire street, and about 20 guys who looked more like workers than gang members were hiding behind the cars, peeking out with guns.

A phone call came in. Alvin looked at these people amusingly; it was rare to see gang members this timid. He answered the call.

"This is Alvin. Who are you?"

...

"Yes, I'm standing at the corner of 27th Street. Do you have a problem with that, Kingpin?"

...

"Oh~ yes, we had an agreement, but so what? Just because we had an agreement, I should stand here waiting for you, you son of a bitch? Hmm~"

...

"Well, if you had said you were calling as a board member, I wouldn't have been so rude. I'll wait for you a bit. You'd better call everyone who has a say in Hell's Kitchen. I can perform a magic trick for you all."

...

"OK, OK, I'm not a gang member and have no interest in your so-called territory. Mr. Board Member, today's matter has nothing to do with territory, I promise."

...

After hanging up the phone, a short, bald, chubby Irishman with a bulbous nose came running over after a while.

Alvin knew him; he was the boss of this street, named Clark Gable. One-third of the fake shoes in New York were sold through him.

Although his appearance didn't do justice to such a good name, he was a decent person. At least Alvin had never heard of him doing anything particularly heinous.

Clark jogged up to Alvin, wiped the sweat off his forehead, and cautiously invited Alvin into an Irish pub.

The pub wasn't open yet. Clark sent away the equally panicked pub owner and personally served Alvin a cup of coffee.

Alvin looked at Clark, who was standing like a waiter, and laughed, "You don't need to be nervous, Mr. Gable. I'm not here to cause trouble today. Please sit down. We have time to chat, and maybe we can even do some business."

Clark was taken aback. He was actually a businessman, but since selling fake goods was illegal in America, he had a bunch of guys who were more like factory security guards than gang members, and they had set up shop on 27th Street.

Clark didn't actually dislike Alvin. Sometimes he wished he had a giant wolf patrolling his street too. It would save him a lot of money on enforcers.

Driven by his business instincts, Clark asked, "I wonder what good business Alvin has to offer me."

Alvin rubbed his nose, a bit embarrassed, and said, "Clark, you know the community school, right?" Seeing Clark nod, he continued, "Our kids don't have proper uniforms yet, which is very detrimental to establishing our school's image. You are in the clothing and footwear business, so you should understand this is a good deal."

What's not to understand? This deal is fantastic. A school with over a thousand, nearly two thousand kids, needing uniforms for both winter and summer, two sets each, changing every year.

Everyone knows Alvin is a fair person. This isn't just business; it's a money-making opportunity!

Clark wiped the sweat off his forehead excitedly and didn't even ask what price Alvin would offer. He decided that even if he had to take a loss, he would secure this deal.

But the uniforms must have the "Gable" brand on them. If the school teachers needed suits, he could make those too. And it's well known that Alvin never lets anyone suffer a loss in business; those who deliver supplies to his restaurant always get paid in cash.

"Tomorrow, Alvin, I'll bring samples to your store. I have all the styles available on the market.

My second son is in 7th grade at the school. He's the defensive end on the school's football team, and I sponsor the team's uniforms and shoes. Rest assured, I'll use the best materials."

Alvin nodded with a smile. He had some mature ideas about the uniforms, though the students might not like them much.

Without saying more, Alvin waited patiently for Kingpin to arrive. He needed to kill a couple of vampires in front of them to dispel these gangsters' doubts and let them feel at ease with him and his big dogs roaming their territory.

Soon, the bar door was pushed open, and a large group of people noisily walked in. Leading them was a black man over two meters tall, weighing more than 150 kilograms.

The last time there was such a gathering of gang leaders was during the "principal election" for the community school.

Kingpin wore a gold suit with a green shirt underneath. His shiny bald head reflected the sunlight streaming in from the door. Surprisingly, this New York underground boss had a remarkably honest face, with big eyes, a big nose, and thick lips. If he wore overalls, he would look more like a simple farmer than a gang leader.

Kingpin held a cane with a large gemstone on top, looking very imposing. He waved his hand, and the people behind him scattered and sat down.

Walking with heavy steps that made the bar floor creak, the beast-like Kingpin ignored the protesting chair and sat down heavily. He silently stared at Alvin, waiting to see what he had to say.

He was very afraid of Alvin because he knew Alvin had some strange abilities and could kill him at any time. But he couldn't back down. He was the underground boss of this city. If he backed down, other ambitious gangs would swarm like sharks smelling blood and tear him apart.

Alvin actually admired Kingpin, who had climbed to the position of New York's underground boss by stepping over the corpses and blood of his opponents from Hell's Kitchen. He always knew what he should do, regardless of the consequences.

Just like now, even though he knew offending Alvin wouldn't end well, he still had to sit in front of Alvin and negotiate. Because losing his status was more terrifying to him than losing his life!

Maybe this is the characteristic of successful people from Hell's Kitchen. I may be bad, but I have a strong backbone!
