Druid in the Marvel Universe Chapter 12: The Principal is Upset

As soon as Alvin hit the school grounds, he bumped into Professor Cage, and man, did that sour his mood.

When Alvin was ticked off, the students knew they were in for a rough ride.

"Holding hands during school hours? Break it up! What? You think you can date? I went through 12 years of school without dating, and you think you can? Break it up! Or you'll all be in detention! This is nuts. From first grade to twelfth grade, no dating allowed in our school. Got time? Do more practice tests."

Sensing the storm, Nelson quickly found an excuse to bail, knowing Alvin was in a foul mood and didn't want to get caught in the crossfire.

"What are you jumping around for? Roughhousing at the stairwell? What if you fall and break your neck? Get back to class and hit the books."

"Spitting on the floor? Who do you think you are? Go to the supply room, grab a mop, and clean the whole hallway! What? The other messes aren't yours? Genius, then mop two floors. It's a punishment, get it?"

"And you girls, why are you all dolled up? Get to the restroom and wash it off! Crying? Pathetic, go wash up. And tomorrow, dye your hair back to its natural color. If I see any funky colors again, I'll have JJ shave it all off. Now scram!"

After stirring up chaos all over the school, Alvin felt he had let off enough steam. Spotting his office ahead, he decided to take a breather.

As the principal, his office was pretty swanky, split into an inner and outer room. The outer room was the secretary's desk.

When Alvin pushed the door open, a plump Black woman in a white floral dress was putting on makeup in front of a small mirror. Seeing Alvin enter, she rushed over and gave him a big hug and a flurry of kisses.

"Oh, Olivia, you're too much. I think you look even prettier today. What's your secret? I need to teach my waitstaff; they still don't know how to dress themselves properly," Alvin joked as he gently pushed Olivia away.

Olivia let out a hearty laugh and said, "Alvin, you sure know how to sweet-talk. I wish you'd come to work here every day. I heard that old geezer Cage gave you trouble again today?

Don't worry, next time let me handle him. His wife, Mrs. Cage, is my good friend now. I can make sure he gets a hard time at home!"

Alvin shuddered at the thought. If old man Cage found out he was behind this, life would be hell. He quickly stopped Olivia's bad idea and asked, "Anything important today?" as he walked towards his office.

Sitting in a plush executive chair, with his legs crossed, Alvin listened to Olivia's report.

"Several parents called to complain, saying their kids were being mistreated and wanted the school to change the schedule. Some even called to curse us out.

The Department of Education called, saying they got a report and will come to inspect."

Olivia finished and proudly smiled at Alvin, saying, "I cursed out the complainers and the ones who cursed us. I handed the Department of Education issue over to Nelson."

Alvin nodded in satisfaction and said with a smile, "Well done, Olivia. I knew you'd be a great help."

"Oh, Professor Wilson came by looking for you. Should I let him know you're here?" Olivia asked.

Alvin nodded. Professor Wilson was a steady guy and wouldn't come looking for him without a reason. He signaled Olivia to notify Professor Wilson and propped his legs on the desk, pondering where he could scrounge up some cash.

This school was a money pit. The funding from the Department of Education and the $5 million he managed to get from Kingpin were nowhere near enough.

Loans? Nah, not really an option. Back in his old life as a regular dude in China, Alvin never got into the habit of borrowing money just to get by.

In this world, Alvin had scoped out the rich folks. He knew two: the playboy Tony Stark and Norman Osborn of Osborn Industries.

One was Iron Man, the other the Green Goblin. These were the only two super-rich guys Alvin knew. But how the heck was he supposed to get money from them?

Both were loaded, and Alvin, just a restaurant owner in Hell's Kitchen, had no way to get close to them.

Alvin was frustrated. The only superhero he knew in this world was Matt Murdock, Daredevil, but that guy was broke as a joke. Every month, he and Foggy would come to mooch off him for a few days. Making money from him? Not happening.

Just as he was stewing over this, Olivia brought in Professor Wilson.

Professor Wilson was pushing seventy but still a handsome devil. A lot of the female teachers at the school were head over heels for him. Every time Alvin saw him, he was reminded of Sean Connery from his old life. The older the guy got, the more dashing he became.

Alvin stood up and invited Professor Wilson to sit on the sofa, telling Olivia to bring two cups of coffee. Then he asked, "Professor, what brings you here? Please don't tell me it's about money; Professor Cage is driving me nuts."

Professor Wilson smiled at the frazzled Alvin and said, "Relax, I'm not here for money. Recently, I found a strange little girl outside the school. She might be an illegal immigrant, and I want to bring her to the school.

I don't want to see a four or five-year-old girl wandering around Hell's Kitchen. It's too dangerous for her."

Hearing it was just about taking in a little girl, Alvin breathed a sigh of relief. As long as it wasn't about money. Before Professor Wilson could finish, Alvin smiled and said, "No problem, let her come. I'll tell Nelson to handle her enrollment. As for her identity, I can ask Michael to help."

Professor Wilson smiled and waved his hand, saying, "I've already sorted out her identity, and she's been attending classes for two days. I'm here for another reason." He then looked at Alvin with a smile.

Alvin suddenly had a bad feeling. This little girl might not be a simple case. He didn't dare to respond to Professor Wilson and just squinted at him, waiting to see what he would say.

Professor Wilson, unlike the tough and shameless Professor Cage, felt a bit embarrassed and said, "My wife and I have completed the adoption process for this little girl, but we find ourselves unable to take care of her due to our busy schedules at the school.

We realized we can't take good care of her, so I hope, Alvin, you can take over and look after this child. She's wonderful. I named her Ginny Ye." He then stood up, bowed slightly, and solemnly said, "I hope you can adopt her."

Hearing that Professor Wilson had even given the child a name, Ginny Ye, with the same last name as Alvin, he couldn't believe it wasn't intentional. It was an insult to his intelligence.

Suppressing the urge to punch Professor Wilson in the nose, Alvin held back, considering the old man and his wife had dedicated themselves to the school.

Pinching his nose, he agreed to Professor Wilson's request and promised to pick up Ginny Ye after school.

Seeing his task was done, the old professor stood up, straightened his collar, nodded to Alvin, and went back to work.
