Druid in the Marvel Universe Chapter 52: Going Home
When Alvin stepped off the plane at a private airport in New York, he saw a little girl in overalls and jeans running towards him from a distance. When she was still more than a meter away, she leaped at him.
Alvin quickly took a step forward and caught this sweet little bomb. He let little Ginny rub her face against his, venting her dissatisfaction.
"Bad Daddy, you went out without taking Ginny," little Ginny finally managed to speak a bit, thanks to Nick's efforts.
Alvin, like a kind old father, laughed heartily and kissed Ginny on the cheek. The little girl was very satisfied with her dad's apology, holding Alvin's face with both hands and giving him a kiss on the nose.
That's my girl, always close to her dad!
Seeing JJ and Jessica coming over to pick him up, Alvin warmly hugged them. Noticing Jessica's slightly resentful look, he gave her a big hug and teased loudly, "Oh~ our little beauty Jessica, why have you gained weight again?"
After receiving a heavy punch from Jessica, Alvin cheerfully rubbed her head and said, "Thank you!"
Jessica, who was angry a second ago, was now all smiles, holding one of Alvin's arms and complaining about Nick's mischief, while Ginny nodded seriously on the other side. Praising Ginny for being sensible, the little girl shyly covered her face.
Now these two girls were on the same side, and the mischievous Nick was having a tough time at home recently.
With both hands occupied, Alvin nodded to JJ and asked, "How's everything at home?"
JJ excitedly said, "No problems. Old Cheng has taken over the chef position at the restaurant, and Mrs. Cheng is helping out too. The restaurant is doing great, business has been even better lately." He then remembered something and said, "The school is preparing for final exams, and the 12th graders are about to be driven crazy by old Cage. Oh, and George Stacy's daughter, Gwen Stacy, tried to run away twice but was caught and grounded by Frank. This has caused some tension between Frank and Chief George."
Alvin laughed heartily, imagining a girl who had never faced hardship suddenly coming to the community school. But it was okay, she would get used to it. It was all for her own good!
"How's the street? With 'Athens,' 'Rome,' and 'Sparta' not around, has there been any trouble?" Alvin lightly bit Ginny's hand, which was near his mouth. It smelled so good, who told you to put it near my mouth?
Ginny giggled and grabbed Alvin's ear in revenge.
JJ thought for a moment and said, "Nothing much. That kid in the red and black tight suit has been very active lately, probably because he had a fight with his girlfriend. Anyone who crosses him ends up in the hospital. Oh, and Officer Misty has been doing a great job; the gang leaders have been much more well-behaved recently." He thought for a moment and added, "It might not just be because of Misty; it could also be because the school exams are coming up. Old Cage has warned that anyone causing trouble now will face serious consequences."
Hearing that Matt and Erica had a fight, Alvin was quite pleased. As a restaurant owner and school principal, he hadn't even found a girlfriend yet. How could a blind and broke guy like Matt have such a sexy girlfriend?
While Alvin was having a lively conversation, Stark was not far behind. Pepper was crying her heart out, clinging to Stark and not letting go.
A chubby bald white man stood nearby, looking at Stark as if he were his child, which made Alvin a bit uneasy. Was it really okay for a villain to act so disgustingly?
Dragging along a lonely-looking Dr. Ethan, Alvin ignored Stark and got into the old pickup truck JJ had driven, heading home. There were still many people waiting for him there.
That night, there was a grand party at the Peace Hotel to celebrate Alvin's safe return!
At the party, Alvin gleefully got the depressed Matt drunk first and had him sent home to sleep. If you're in a bad mood, don't come out to party; go home and rest!
"Athens," "Rome," "Sparta," and the Ravens could all come back to work now. Daredevil Matt also needed a break.
To Alvin's surprise, Robert McCall, the supermarket owner who looked like Denzel Washington, also came. He seemed to be adapting very well to life in Hell's Kitchen, chatting animatedly with old Kent. But who was that obviously underage girl with him? Judging by her attitude towards him, they were clearly not father and daughter.
This needed to be addressed later. In today's Hell's Kitchen, kids from the community school were not allowed to date. An old guy bringing a young girl around in front of the principal was unacceptable.
Midway through, Nick sneaked out of his room, pulling Alvin aside to complain about his miserable life over the past month. Jessica had become increasingly violent, using her strength to single-handedly drag Nick, who just wanted to slack off, back to his room to continue his homework.
Old Cage and Professor Wilson took some time to come over and have a drink with Alvin, celebrating his safe return and updating him on the school's situation.
Professor Wilson sipped his whiskey and smiled, "This year's 12th grade has sixty-three students. Old Cage and I estimate that about forty of them can score over twenty on the ACT. A few others might get into college through their football skills, but the rest are hopeless; their foundation is too weak, and one year is just not enough."
Alvin enviously looked at the handsome old man in front of him. No matter what he did, his actions and demeanor were always so charming. Didn't you see all the middle-aged and elderly women around staring at him? Old Cage was so jealous he was pouting.
Alvin laughed and said, "The rest can learn a trade. Of course, the best scenario is if they are willing to stay another year and try again next year. The school's dorms will be ready next year, and they can stay for a few months."
Professor Wilson smiled contentedly and said, "I knew you were a qualified principal. If this school continues to develop like this for ten years, you will become a legend in America."
Alvin waved his hand and said, "Professor, you know I'm not interested in that. My original intention was never to have my portrait hung on the wall."
Wilson laughed, clinking his glass with Alvin's, "I'm very fortunate to have met you and come to this school in my later years. I feel very fulfilled every day now. Alvin, thank you! You've helped me rediscover the passion of my youth in my later years."
Old Cage, on the side, teased Professor Wilson, "Come on, buddy, look at the ladies' eyes around you. You certainly don't lack passion."
Ignoring the handsome Wilson who made him want to punch him, Cage looked at Alvin and said, "Kid, I need to go out this summer. My old buddy, Professor Erik Selvig, who helped with the supercomputer last time, invited me to join one of his observation experiments. I want Domingo to come with me. New Mexico is not exactly a tourist destination."
Alvin laughed, clinking glasses with Professor Cage, "No problem. Let Domingo wear a biker's leather jacket and ride a Harley. No one will dare mess with you, not even in Tijuana."
