Druid in the Marvel Universe Chapter 122: The Right Thing? Who Knows?

When Alvin was losing his cool, Russell was just chilling on the sidelines, watching the chaos. He noticed Alvin wasn't going after the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents but had a serious beef with the vampires.

Russell had no clue why Alvin hated vampires so much. Sure, he wasn't a fan either, and keeping their numbers in check was part of his gig.

But when Alvin whipped out a harpoon, looking like he was about to go full-on vampire slayer, Russell knew he had to step in.

With a smooth move, Russell pulled out his silver M1911 pistol and emptied the clip.

Alvin was stunned. All the vamps in front of him, except for the leader who was clutching his gut and cursing up a storm, turned to ash from Russell's shots. Clearly, Russell's gun was made for this kind of thing!

At first, Alvin thought Russell was gonna turn on him and was ready to watch the show.

But nope, Russell just dusted the vamps like it was nothing.

This made Alvin rethink things. He figured S.H.I.E.L.D. might be in bed with the vamps, but now it seemed like that wasn't the case.

Alvin grinned, gave Russell a thumbs up, stashed the harpoon, and looked at Russell with a smirk. Pointing to the last standing vamp leader, he said, "One left, buddy. I'm starting to like you. Don't screw it up!"

Phil was standing there, one hand on his hip, the other on his forehead. He knew whenever Alvin was around, trouble wasn't far behind. But he didn't expect Russell to go off the rails too!

Russell shrugged, holstered his gun, and said with a grin, "I don't like vamps either, but this guy's one of ours, so I can't off him." He glanced at the vamp leader and added, "Even though I really want to!"

The vamp leader spat out, "Russell, you son of a bitch, why didn't you take me out too?"

Alvin frowned at the string of curses. He looked at Russell and said, "If I were you, I'd blow his brains out. Otherwise, your mom's gonna get pregnant soon!"

Russell chuckled, giving the pitiful vamp leader a childlike smile. Alvin, on the other hand, felt a shiver down his spine, thinking this guy was seriously scary. Best to keep some distance from him!

"Alvin, I've heard of you. You chopped Dracula into pieces, so I like you a lot!

But this guy's still useful, so let him live a few more days, okay? Once he's done, whichever part of him you want, I'll chop it off and mail it to you!" Russell said, pointing at the vamp leader.

Phil jumped in, "Yeah, Alvin, you know our job. We don't do bad stuff.

Help us out, buddy! We're agents, not New York cops!

We handle all the weird stuff around the world. You can't expect us to always play by the rules. I could call and get an arrest warrant for this Blade, but it wouldn't make sense. Sometimes, we are the law!

We mean no harm to Blade. We just want him to chill for a bit. We even got blood plasma to patch him up.

We like vampire hunters like him. With him around, Russell's had it much easier these past two years!"

Alvin knew there was more to this than he was being told, but it didn't matter. When you use an RPG to take someone out, you gotta think about the fallout.

Alvin smiled and said, "Maybe your intentions are good, but I don't like your methods.

Phil, I always thought you might be a decent guy, but now I think S.H.I.E.L.D. is full of assholes!

You wanna take him away? No way! I said it!"

Just as Phil was scratching his head, Blade, who'd been lying on the ground, struggled to sit up. He adjusted his sunglasses and smiled gratefully at Alvin, saying, "Thanks! I'm Blade. I think I can handle the rest myself!"

Alvin took one look at Blade's beat-up state and thought the guy was just talking big. But since they were more like passing acquaintances, he figured it wasn't worth risking his neck for him. Blade said he had it, so Alvin let it slide.

Alvin shrugged and grinned, "Alright, man. It's your show. I'll be rooting for ya!" He stepped aside, curious to see what Blade would do next.

Blade, struggling to his feet, sneered at everyone around, making the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents twitchy. After adjusting his torn-up leather jacket, he shot Alvin a quick smile and then bolted into the alley where the vamps had come from, moving like he wasn't hurt at all. Alvin thought, damn, he probably couldn't run that fast even on a good day!

Russell waved his guys off, stopping them from shooting, and said with a hint of regret, "Let him go. He'll probably lay low for a bit."

Then he turned to Alvin with a smile, "Happy with how this turned out?"

Alvin shook his head, still smiling, "Except for you calling that vamp your colleague, I got no beef. If there's any payback, that's Blade's problem!

But since when did S.H.I.E.L.D. start hiring foreign members? And cross-species at that!"

Russell glanced at the vamp leader on the ground and said sympathetically, "He's a jerk, but a brave one.

He can't die, and why? That's classified, Alvin!"

Alvin shrugged, deciding to wrap things up for the day. The less he knew about S.H.I.E.L.D.'s secrets, the better. He smiled at Russell, "Seeing how you handle vamps, I think you're alright.

But your efficiency kinda sucks. Hurry up and dust these creeps, and I'll buy you a drink!"

Russell smirked, tilting his head like a cowboy accepting a challenge, "I'll do my best, but some things are outta my hands. But I promise I'll give it my all!

I know you live in New York, so we'll probably bump into each other again soon. Don't forget that drink!

Honestly, I don't like Phil and his crew either. They always wanna solve problems with schemes, but I think using this is the fastest and best way!" Russell said, patting the silver pistol on his hip.

Alvin gave Russell a thumbs up, bumped fists with him, and said, "See, we got common ground. I dig your style.

You can find my address, right? I'll buy you that drink! I keep my promises!"

Phil finally let out a sigh of relief. Avoiding a direct clash with Alvin was a win! He'd seen Alvin chop S.H.I.E.L.D.'s A-level threat Count Dracula into pieces. Sure, he had some help, but it wasn't something just anyone could pull off. S.H.I.E.L.D. didn't have anyone as tough as Dracula.

S.H.I.E.L.D. wasn't dumb enough to think Alvin was easy to handle just because he used Tony's solar lamp. That'd be a rookie mistake! Ever since Natasha messed up at Whispering Pines Cafe due to bad intel, no one was making that mistake again! That wasn't professional!

Phil smiled, looking like a sincere insurance salesman, and said, "Alvin, buddy, I hope next time we meet, it's not under such crappy circumstances. It really stresses me out!

Maybe you don't think much of us, but believe me, we're really trying to do the right thing!"

Alvin shook his head, not entirely convinced. The few S.H.I.E.L.D. agents he'd met didn't give him a great vibe, but they were doing some work to keep the world stable. The world did need them!

But to say everything they did was right...

Alvin smiled and said softly, "Who knows? Maybe what you're doing isn't as righteous as you think!

But that's none of my business. I'll say it again, stay away from Hellfire Boulevard when you're working!"
