Druid in the Marvel Universe Chapter 87: Zhang Wuji Achieves Mastery in Divine Skills
Alvin's good mood affected everyone in the house, except for Nick, of course. That little rascal never had a bad day; he always found a way to entertain himself.
For instance, right now, Nick had said something to Ginny, encouraging her to grab Thor and try to become a mighty wolf knight. He even put on a helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads for the occasion.
Unfortunately, all he got for his efforts were repeated falls, with no progress. He just couldn't keep himself steady on Thor's back, even when Ginny was holding Thor's ears to keep him still!
Alvin watched the energetic boy with a bit of a headache, seeing him grinning and trying over and over again, as if the falls didn't hurt at all!
Alvin understood this kid well because he had guided Nick from being a depressed, hopeless boy to the mischievous child he was now.
Alvin was never soft on Nick; he treated him like his own son. Boys needed to go through trials and tribulations, to fall and get back up, to grow into strong men.
Alvin felt Nick had achieved that. Whether at school or at home, Nick had a relentless determination and an unyielding optimism that made people want to punch him!
Maybe it was time to consider getting Nick a prosthetic leg.
Stark was an option, but Alvin's ideal prosthetic was probably in some military base in Siberia. Hopefully, it wouldn't be too hard to find!
When Nick fell off Thor's back for the umpteenth time, Alvin grabbed him just before his head hit the ground. Looking at the boy who still wanted to try again, Alvin decided to put off the prosthetic idea for now and get a basic one from Stark first.
If he got Nick a high-tech prosthetic leg, the house probably wouldn't survive his antics.
After calling Stark and setting up a time, Alvin planned to take Nick and Ginny to visit Stark's place when he wasn't too busy. They would definitely be thrilled!
Jessica was still upset with Alvin for pushing her yesterday and hadn't shown him a good face since she got up.
Alvin pretended not to notice, but he still got a punch from Jessica, thanks to Nick's big mouth bringing up yesterday's incident.
Steve walked over with a cup of coffee, looking surprised at Alvin. "That girl packs a punch, buddy. Has she trained in boxing? That hit looked like it hurt!"
Alvin rubbed his sore spot and said proudly, "Of course, she's a Hell's Kitchen girl! Ever thought about finding a girlfriend here? They're quite something!"
Steve shook his head, laughing, "No way, I don't have a thing for getting punched!"
Alvin laughed, "You'll get used to it, really!"
Taking a sip of Steve's coffee, Alvin was pleasantly surprised. "Hey, buddy, this is pretty good, better than mine. You have a knack for cooking."
...
Alvin happily headed out, planning to drive Steve to the school. But his car had been taken by Frank and the others, so he decided to borrow Old Kent's car.
Just as he stepped out, a luxurious black Bentley pulled up in front of the restaurant.
Luxury cars always drew attention, including Alvin's.
The door opened on Alvin's side, and an elderly lady with a flight attendant hairstyle, heavy makeup, and a white cheongsam embroidered with intricate patterns stepped out.
Alvin glanced at her. If she were a few decades younger, she might resemble Su Lizhen from "In the Mood for Love." But now, she was just a wealthy old lady.
The lady walked straight towards Alvin, clearly coming for him.
Stopping two steps away, she smiled and asked, "Excuse me, are you Mr. Alvin Ye?"
The lady's demeanor and manners were very refined, making Alvin a bit envious. He wondered if his daughter could grow up to be like this lady.
Looking back at Ginny, who was wrestling with Thor, it seemed unlikely!
Alvin shrugged and smiled, "Yes, that's me. What can I do for you?"
The lady looked into Alvin's eyes and chuckled, "Yes, I came to see what kind of person could uproot the Hand's power in New York in just a few days!"
Alvin smiled, but his eyes turned cold. Nodding to the lady, he said, "I hope I didn't disappoint you."
The lady covered her mouth and laughed, looking at Alvin's jeans and short-sleeved shirt. "To be honest, a bit. But I still want to talk to you. My name is Mrs. Gao."
Alvin sneered, "There's not much to talk about. If you're with the Hand, I admire your courage for not running away and coming to find me. If you're not, then talking about the Hand is pointless. Or maybe you're an enemy of the Hand, here to thank me for killing them? No need, just transfer a million dollars to my account, and I'll give you a donation receipt."
Mrs. Gao maintained her composure despite Alvin's rudeness, smiling, "I just want to ask why you're targeting the Hand. As far as I know, the Hand has no grudge against you."
Alvin's face turned cold, and he said in an icy tone, "Because a bastard named Botu from the Hand kidnapped my students to turn them into assassins. I swore to rip that bastard's heart out!"
Mrs. Gao was surprised, "Just because of that? Just because Botu took a few of your students, you want to kill everyone in the Hand?"
Her calm demeanor finally broke. She couldn't believe someone would go to war with the Hand over a few kids, and it seemed this war would continue!
Alvin calmly replied, "I'm a principal, and they are my students. Isn't that reason enough?"
Mrs. Gao now thought Alvin was a madman, and reaching an agreement with a madman, especially a powerful one, seemed impossible.
Trying to regain her composure, Mrs. Gao said, "I came to discuss a truce. You don't know how powerful the Hand truly is. Those people you fought yesterday were nothing to us! If you agree, we can even offer compensation and promise never to retaliate."
Alvin grinned menacingly, "A truce? Bring me Botu's head, and then we can talk. Remember, I want his head, not his body!"
Mrs. Gao's face turned grim, and she asked coldly, "What do you know? Where is Xin?"
Alvin casually tilted his head and smiled, "You mean that tough guy? He was chopped up and dumped in the ocean. If you want to find him, I can arrange a trip for you!"
As soon as Alvin finished speaking, Mrs. Gao transformed into a blur, like Chizuru Kagura from "The King of Fighters '97," her hands striking Alvin with the force to split mountains.
Alvin watched the flurry of strikes, trying to find a flaw in the technique like in martial arts novels. But his eyes couldn't keep up, and he had to shake his head in resignation. There was no dodging this!
So he struck a pose reminiscent of Zhang Wuji from "The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber" after mastering the Nine Yang Divine Skill.
"Let him be strong, the breeze brushes the mountain; let him be fierce, I stand firm with my inner strength!"
