Druid in the Marvel Universe Chapter 136: Missiles
When Alvin hacked off another leg of the robot, the female warrior yelled, "Watch out, the Destroyer doesn't care about getting hurt!"
Alvin gave her a confused look and swung his axe at the Destroyer's waist, leaving a massive gash.
Just as Alvin was trying to figure things out, a red light shot out from the Destroyer's wound, and the severed legs flew back, reattaching themselves in no time!
A red beam blasted from the Destroyer's face towards Alvin. Luckily, it took a moment to charge, giving Alvin a chance to dodge.
A distant hill took the hit, losing its peak in a massive explosion, shaving off a quarter of its size.
War God No. 3 circled around and chopped off one of the Destroyer's legs from the thigh. Without thinking, Alvin grabbed the severed leg, fired up the mech's thrusters, spread its wings, and flew deep into the desert.
"Now you're missing a leg, let's see you hop around and fight!" After flying for about five minutes, Alvin tossed the Destroyer's leg next to a big rock and casually pressed it down with a huge stone.
When Alvin flew back, he saw the female warrior and the black-haired warrior circling a fully-limbed Destroyer, trying to hold it off.
Despite their best efforts, they could only leave scratches on the Destroyer, unable to chop off its limbs like Alvin.
Landing on the ground, Alvin shouted at the female warrior, "What's going on? I buried its leg! Where'd it get another one?"
The female warrior shouted back, "This is Odin's armor, the guardian of Asgard's treasury. You can't destroy it without taking out its core!"
Taking advantage of the Destroyer's distraction, Alvin swung his axe hard at its waist again, nearly cutting it in half.
The rune-embedded double-headed axe was no joke. Each hit not only caused physical damage but also unleashed four magical elements around the wound.
But even so, the powerful axe didn't have a huge effect on the Destroyer. At most, it slowed down its recovery.
The Destroyer could flip and attack Alvin with red beams. Unfortunately, it wasn't very effective against Alvin.
Alvin's combat skills were average, but he wasn't scared of the Destroyer's physical attacks. As long as he watched out for the red beams from its face, it wasn't too dangerous. "Reflect damage buff" and "Needle Aura" would break before he had to move, even if he lost!
Several renowned Asgardian warriors watched in dismay as Alvin repeatedly dismembered the Destroyer. It hurt their pride to see a high-end Asgardian weapon being toyed with by an Earthling!
Impatient, Alvin shouted at the Asgardians, "Hey! Tell me what to do! I've chopped it up dozens of times already."
The female warrior answered Alvin's question again, shouting, "You can't destroy the Destroyer. Only Thor has the power to destroy it!"
Alvin was annoyed by their superior attitude. If they were so powerful, why was he, an Earthling, standing in front?
He called Phil, who answered anxiously, "How's it going? Is that monster destroyed?"
Looking at the dumb Destroyer swinging its fists at him, Alvin sighed, "Nope, still can't take it down. How's it going on your end? If you're almost done, I'm thinking of bailing. This thing's indestructible, and I'm out of ideas!"
Phil was taken aback. He didn't expect Alvin to admit he was struggling and considering retreat. Looking at the convoy, it was clear they couldn't evacuate everyone from the town in time.
"Can you hold on a bit longer, Alvin? There are still some people who haven't evacuated. I can't take risks, but if you really can't hold on, you can retreat first! We'll take over, and air support is on the way!" Phil said through gritted teeth.
Alvin wasn't really struggling; he was just getting impatient. Hanging up, he chopped off another of the Destroyer's legs, picked it up, and threw it at the Asgardians, shouting angrily, "Stop just standing there! Either help hold it off or find a way to destroy it, and fast."
The Asgardians were stunned, then turned to look at the dazed Thor lying on the ground.
A short, burly man holding a severed leg shouted at Thor, "Get it together, Thor. You're the future leader of Asgard."
Thor shook his head in despair, saying, "Not anymore. I caused my father's death and lost the recognition of Mjolnir."
The female warrior shook her head with a bitter smile, "It was all Loki's conspiracy. Our king is in a deep sleep. You need to pull yourself together. Asgard needs a ruler, and it can't be Loki!"
Thor was stunned, "My father is still alive?"
The short, burly man roughly pushed Thor's shoulder, shouting, "Of course, Odin is the king of the gods. Who do you think can kill him?"
Thor stood up angrily, with a crooked nose, and roared at the sky, "Loki, you lied to me again. I'm going to kill you!"
Alvin, taking a punch from the Destroyer, shouted at the aliens, "Can you hurry up and think of something? If you don't act soon, I'm out of here!"
At that moment, Alvin's communicator buzzed with Tony's voice, accompanied by rock music, "Hey buddy, need Mr. Stark's help?"
Looking at the sky, Alvin laughed, "Yes, hurry up and help. These arrogant aliens are really annoying!"
Tony laughed heartily, "Get out of the way, missiles are coming. Let's show these things some real power!"
Hearing this, Alvin took another punch from the Destroyer, activated his thrusters, and shot far away!
Before leaving, he didn't forget to notify the Asgardians, "Get out of here! Big bombs are coming!"
The Asgardians weren't fools. They helped each other and ran away.
Tony, in his Iron Man suit, sped through the sky, talking to the F22 pilots, "I'm almost there. Start joint guidance now, let's launch some Mavericks!"
The distant F22s fired four "Maverick" air-to-ground missiles.
When Tony arrived at the battlefield, Alvin witnessed an astonishing scene. Iron Man hovered in the sky as four large missiles passed by him, heading straight for the Destroyer.
Alvin was envious. If he were in that position, striking a "missile" pose and taking a photo, he'd have plenty of bragging rights for the year!
