Druid in the Marvel Universe Chapter 82: The Kids of Hell's Kitchen
The ferocity of the venomous vines can no longer be described as simply fierce.
This is a walking biochemical weapon; even a slight touch means a green-faced, poisoned death.
Fortunately, these red-clad ninjas are very environmentally friendly. Although it's unclear what material their clothes are made of, once they die, their clothes turn to ash as well.
Alvin liked this; otherwise, a pile of green corpses on the street would ruin Old Cheng's breakfast business the next morning.
Perhaps Frank's gunfire woke the sleeping neighbors. As residents of Hell's Kitchen, everyone remained calm. The windows on the opposite apartment building's exterior wall all slammed shut.
No one had caused trouble here for a long time, unlike other neighborhoods with frequent gunfights. Some residents even missed that kind of thrilling life.
Take Old Kent, for example, a tough old fence. He opened his window, shouted some obscenities, fired a few random shots into the street, and then threw a few grenades.
Steve looked at the chaotic street in front of him, somewhat in disbelief. Is this really America?
The kind old man he was chatting with earlier today retaliated with grenades after being woken up?
Steve couldn't help but ask Frank, "What the hell is going on? What's wrong with these people?"
Frank glanced back at Steve and said, "These people are defending their rights, and helping Alvin is the best way to do that!"
After speaking, Frank turned and fired another clip into the street. Several red-clad ninjas were forced to jump up, wildly swinging their katanas and scythe-like weapons as they charged toward the restaurant door.
Seeing their frenzied charge, Alvin knew these guys weren't too bright, relying on their fearlessness to fight to the death.
Holding his old gun, he carefully aimed and fired a shot into the crowd. He missed the brave red-clad ninja, but the explosion still blew a few of them away. Judging by their missing limbs, they'd probably turn to ash soon.
Steve stood by the window, finding the battle before him somewhat surreal. He hesitated several times but didn't fire, still unsure of what was happening.
It wasn't until a cross-shaped shuriken cut his face that he realized he was also a target!
As a battle-hardened veteran, his first instinct upon being injured was to retaliate. His HK416 finally roared to life.
Several red-clad ninjas, dodging the venomous vines' attacks while throwing shurikens at Steve, were turned to ash mid-air by his shots.
Frank gave Steve an approving thumbs-up and said, "Looks like you weren't bluffing; nice shooting!"
Steve swapped out his magazine and fired a wild burst into the street, proudly saying, "I was fighting thousands in Germany last month; this is nothing!
Why aren't they using guns?"
Frank looked up at the ceiling and said, "Maybe they think they don't need to." Then he fired a few shots into the ceiling, causing two red-clad ninjas to fall down.
Steve was surprised to see the red-clad ninjas turn to ash on the floor. He frowned as he looked behind Frank and fired a shot.
With a "bang," a red-clad ninja clinging to the wall behind Frank was turned to ash, the bullet grazing Frank's ear.
Frank was about to say thanks when he saw Steve swing his rifle and smash the butt into the wall behind him.
A strange bulge appeared on the wall, and the head-shaped part was smashed into flying ash by Steve's rifle butt.
Frank loved working with seasoned pros like Steve, especially since Steve was exceptionally skilled. Working with someone like him significantly boosted his killing efficiency by at least 10%.
Alvin watched the red-clad ninjas running wildly on the street with ease. In the room behind him, a blood-red vine twisted and turned, shredding a few red-clad ninjas who had somehow sneaked in.
Thor and Dom were guarding the back door of the restaurant. Judging by the occasional muffled screams, the red-clad ninjas weren't faring well there.
"Rome" and "Athens" were happily running and jumping on the street, tearing apart any red-clad ninjas they saw.
Alvin patted his old gun, feeling a bit regretful. He had such a powerful weapon but only fired one shot and missed.
Alvin decided to find some time to practice his shooting. It wouldn't be good to be clueless when he really needed it.
After all, the enemies he might face in the future would likely be tougher, not just gang fights like before.
And missing after aiming for so long was indeed embarrassing!
A battle that should have been brutal ended in a somewhat comical atmosphere. On Alvin's side, only Steve had a scratch on his face from a shuriken. The Hand suffered heavy losses without leaving a single corpse.
Apart from the big crater Alvin's shot created, the street was almost unchanged.
Alvin sent out the crows to monitor the nearby streets, looking for any stragglers.
"Athens" and "Rome," the two ghost wolves, enthusiastically sprinted back and forth on the several-hundred-meter-long street, hoping a few more red-clad ninjas would pop out so they could enjoy the fight a bit longer.
Over the past year, their daily patrols had turned them into mascots. Familiar folks always wanted to get close to them, some even bringing pretty female dogs to meet them!
This greatly hurt the pride of the ghost wolves, who were supposed to be Druid battle partners!
They didn't want this rare, somewhat interesting battle to end too soon!
It wasn't until the tall JJ and the ghost wolf "Sparta" appeared at the end of the street, each carrying a captive, that the battle was truly over!
Alvin happily waved to JJ, signaling him to take the captives to Frank's place.
He closed the attic window and cheerfully went downstairs to check out Frank's place. Too much blood in his own house would be hard to clean, and there were kids around, right?
When he reached his room door, Alvin knocked. Jessica opened the door and rushed out to give him a big hug.
Alvin looked at the girl, her head buried in his chest, her legs happily kicking back. She didn't seem worried at all. Hell's Kitchen girls aren't that fragile, are they?
Trying to take advantage of me, huh?
Feeling a bit smug, Alvin suddenly pushed Jessica away, took a few steps forward, and caught Ginny, who was leaping from the bed.
A small sweet bomb exploded in Alvin's arms. The little girl angrily tugged at Alvin's nose, meaning, "Why didn't you take me to the fight?"
Alvin pressed his forehead against Ginny's, rubbed it, and kissed her cheek.
The little girl immediately smiled and forgave her dad, giving his nose a light pinch as punishment!
Nick excitedly came over, waving his fists and saying, "Alvin, buddy, you guys were awesome! Great job!
Are you going to interrogate the captives? Can I come watch?"
Such unreasonable requests from the brat had to be firmly rejected. Alvin grabbed Nick by the collar with one hand and tossed him onto the bed, making a very mafia-like throat-slitting gesture at him.
Nick immediately covered his face with the blanket in disappointment, shouting, "I want to beat them up too!"
