Druid in the Marvel Universe Chapter 34: Always Welcome

7 min 59.3K views

In the restaurant, Stark, who had vomited three times, finally calmed down. He sat at the bar, gulping down a large glass of lemonade.

The way he looked at Alvin had completely changed. Alvin now seemed mysterious to him, no longer the con artist who kept big dogs to scare customers and pretended to be an exorcist.

The lucky Miss Pepper had fainted and hadn't woken up yet. She was now resting in Jessica's room.

The unlucky bodyguard, Happy, had been so scared in the basement that he fell face-first to the ground again. Seeing his pitiful nose, Alvin kindly called an ambulance for him.

Watching Stark sign a check and hand it to Frank, who wore a killer's expression, Alvin fiddled with the digital camera in his hand, checking the photos inside. Hmm, they were very clear.

He tapped the bar in front of Stark and said kindly, "Mr. Stark, I think we've cleared up our misunderstanding, haven't we?"

Stark looked at the digital camera in Alvin's hand with a grim expression. The photos inside were a huge stain on his life. He had many scandals, but none as bad as the images in those photos.

Looking at Alvin's annoying face, Stark resisted the urge to punch him and said dryly, "Yes, buddy, you showed me some incredible things. I think I owe you an apology for what I said earlier."

Stark glanced at the camera in Alvin's hand and said, "Buddy, you can name your price for those photos. I won't haggle."

Alvin shook the digital camera in his hand, put it in the bar's cabinet, and smiled, "Mr. Stark, you're a billionaire, a genius inventor, a philanthropist. You must be full of social responsibility, right?"

Stark sensed something was off but couldn't deny it; that wasn't his style. He said, "You're right, that sounds like me."

Alvin smiled like a seasoned pimp, gently persuading, "Then I believe that someone as socially responsible as you, Mr. Stark, would be willing to show the media everything you saw today and warn the public about the terrifying vampires lurking around them."

Pointing to where the camera was placed, Alvin said, "After all, if I were to show the media, it might turn into a tabloid scandal."

Stark gritted his teeth, looking at the smiling Alvin, deeply regretting why he came to this damn "Peace Hotel."

Stark snorted angrily and said, "No problem! This is a good thing. I'll call a press conference as soon as I get back and show the reporters what I saw today."

Stark glared at Alvin and said, "But you have to give me that damn digital camera. To convince the reporters, I need some evidence."

Alvin and Stark locked eyes. Alvin pursed his lips and nodded, then very straightforwardly took the digital camera from the bar and handed it to Stark.

Stark took the digital camera, a bit stunned. He turned it on and saw that it was full of images of him vomiting in the basement. The scenes were too graphic; after looking at two, he didn't want to see any more.

Raising the camera in his left hand, he shook it at Alvin and asked, "Why?"

Alvin smiled and said, "Because I think you should have at least some social responsibility. This time, I'm not being sarcastic. When facing such things, we should be on the same side. It's just that our methods might differ."

Looking at the camera in Stark's hand, Alvin said, "Actually, it was just a joke."

Stark was caught off guard by Alvin's praise and, unlike his usual arrogance, said seriously, "You're right. This time, we should be on the same side. Facing these vampires, I can not only call the media but also donate some money to the NYPD to combat the vampires."

Alvin laughed heartily. This guy finally got it. He had been worried about how to get Stark to join the fight against the vampires.

Alvin shook his head and said with a smile, "Actually, money is the least useful thing against vampires. If Mr. Stark is willing, it would be best to develop some targeted weapons. I can provide some references."

He then asked JJ for the silver dinner knife he used for self-defense and handed it to Stark.

Stark took the knife, examined it carefully, and found nothing special. Seeing Alvin's smiling face, which seemed ready to answer his questions, Stark frowned and studied it again. Finally, he tentatively said, "Is it silver?"

Alvin gave a thumbs up and said, "Mr. Stark, you truly are a genius! Yes, it's silver!"

Hearing that it was just a material issue, Stark lost interest and tossed the knife onto the bar, saying, "If it's just a material issue, you can make it yourselves. No need to waste my time. How hard can it be?"

That comment was a bit annoying again. Alvin smiled and said, "It's not hard, but it's expensive. Look at us here; who looks like they have over $100,000 in the bank?

And the best weapon against vampires is actually sunlight. If you could invent a sun lamp or something to light up all the dark corners of the world, vampires would go extinct."

Stark looked disdainfully at the few poor souls in the restaurant. He finally found a sense of superiority again, smugly stroking his mustache and generously said, "In that case, no problem. I can set up a production line specifically to produce, hmm, silver-plated weapons and bullets. I'll provide them to the NYPD for free."

JJ, curious, asked, "Why silver-plated weapons and bullets?"

Stark held up the dinner knife and said, "Isn't this silver-plated?"

JJ, dumbfounded, muttered to himself as he stepped aside, "Damn, I should have known old Kent wouldn't give away pure silver cutlery."

Not wanting JJ to embarrass himself further, Alvin stood up formally, shook hands with Stark, and said, "Thank you very much for your generosity!"

Looking seriously at the future Iron Man, who was half a head shorter than himself, Alvin said, "I really think you're a good guy now. I hope we can become friends."

Faced with Alvin's praise, Stark felt a bit ashamed because he was actually a little excited. Rarely, he said seriously, "Nice to meet you, Alvin. You're very special!"

Stark then looked at Alvin's not-so-muscular arms and said, "Once I get better at judo, I'll come back to see what else is special about you."

Stark, with his awkward personality, had reconciled with Alvin but still hadn't given up the idea of beating him up.

Maybe that's how superheroes are; they get back up where they fall.

Alvin smiled at the defiant Stark and said, "You're welcome anytime!"

Main Character's Abilities

At the request of reader "Three Kingdoms Poisoner Jia Xu 2," I'll briefly explain the main character's abilities. After all, not everyone has played Diablo 2.

1. Druid Attributes: Strength: 20, Dexterity: 20, Vitality: 20, Energy: 20

The average person's attributes are around 5, with top individuals reaching about 10 (Frank Castle). Although the main character doesn't know martial arts, his ruthless nature makes his attributes of 20 quite impressive. In my book, most characters feel pain when hit and can die from gunshots. I really like Tony Stark; the movie Iron Man is also very likable. I think it's because Iron Man fits most people's scientific views; his abilities can all be explained by science.

2. Druid Summoning Skills:

Summon Raven: Summon birds to attack and scout

Poison Creeper: Summon vines that travel underground, poisoning anything they touch

Oak Sage: Summon a spirit that increases life and stamina when possessed

Summon Spirit Wolf: Summon wolves with mysterious abilities (5 wolves)

Carrion Vine: Summon vines that travel underground, consuming corpses to restore life

Heart of Wolverine: Summon a spirit that increases damage when possessed

Summon Dire Wolf: Summon wolves stronger than spirit wolves (2 wolves)

Solar Creeper: Summon vines that travel underground, consuming corpses to restore energy

Spirit of Barbs: Summon a spirit that reflects damage when possessed

Summon Grizzly: Summon a grizzly bear stronger than dire wolves

The exact strength is up to the author, haha.

3. Rune Words are the future direction for enhancement. There are 33 runes, each with its own effect. Dozens of rune word combinations will be explained when they appear in the book.

Lastly, this book will not feature the X-Men; they're too powerful and not what I want to write at my age. X-23 is an exception because I really like the character. And it won't disrupt the balance.

I actually want to write about the main character interacting with well-known heroes through some clever setups.

There's already a character in the book that no one has guessed who he really is. I've hidden him well, planning to surprise everyone later.

Writing is actually quite fun! Haha!

Finally, thanks to my 13 fans and all the readers who voted for me. I'm grateful!
