Druid in the Marvel Universe Chapter 59: Peter's Expectations

6 min 59.3K views

Today is a big day for Hell's Kitchen Community School. All sixty-three twelfth graders have passed the ATC exam.

Even the big guy Zack, who was always thought to have more muscles than brains, managed to get a decent score.

Professor Wilson and Professor Cage's homes are practically being trampled by excited parents.

Professor Wilson has called the police four times in the past two days, all because some parents brought him unacceptable gifts.

If you want to thank a teacher, you can give some sweets or a bottle of wine. But giving a blatantly stolen gold watch? How do you think that makes Professor Wilson feel?

The most outrageous gift was two pounds of marijuana. What is Professor Wilson, who doesn't even smoke, supposed to do with that?

Professor Cage, on the other hand, is much more laid-back. He accepted two antique hunting rifles from Alexei without hesitation.

Although Professor Cage didn't accept other gifts, he's recently been seen hanging out with a few gang leaders, looking more like a mob boss than Principal Alvin.

...

In a high-end apartment on the Upper East Side of New York, a beautiful blonde girl is carefully getting ready.

Sitting in front of her vanity, she looks at the pretty girl with bright eyes and white teeth in the mirror and nods in satisfaction.

But when she turns to see the so-called school uniform on her bed, she frustratedly bangs her head.

This damn school is run like a prison. The head of the disciplinary office is a pervert. The students act more like gang members than classmates.

Luckily, she's a well-behaved and excellent student, which has left a good impression on the teachers. The handsome Professor Wilson even went to the disciplinary office to plead on her behalf.

Everything is fine except for the uniform, which is said to be painstakingly designed by the legendary Principal Alvin.

Even Clark Gable, the boss who specializes in making knock-offs, was too embarrassed to sew his pre-planned "Gable" label on the uniform after seeing the final product.

It's just too ugly. The baggy, grass-green tracksuit is adorned with white stripes down the arms and legs. The top is divided into two parts by a V-shaped line, with white on top and green on the bottom. The collar is also green.

This outfit is so hideous that even the most hip-hop, fashion-forward black guys wouldn't dare wear it on the street, no matter how many gold chains they pile on. Anyone wearing it would become a social outcast.

Thinking about having to wear this outfit through the long hallway, down the elevator, to the front of the apartment, and into her dad's car, the NYPD Commissioner, waiting by the curb, the pretty girl lets out a desperate wail. She considers faking illness to skip the graduation ceremony but remembers the consequences described in the invitation by Principal Alvin in a mob boss tone.

Reluctantly, she pulls out a large sun hat from her closet, hoping it will hide her face on the way so that not too many people recognize her.

...

Peter Parker is thrilled. Today, his uncle brought him a new school uniform. Although it looks ugly, at least it's not a cheap second-hand store purchase.

In the past few months, his uncle found a good job, and their living conditions have greatly improved.

They visited his uncle's workplace, and everyone there was very friendly. His uncle decided to transfer him to that school in September.

Although leaving his good friend Harry makes him a bit sad, the school is indeed special and very exciting.

The school bus driver looks very much like a movie serial killer. His name is Domingo. Although he looks scary, he's a nice guy and even treated Peter to his wife's delicious Mexican burritos.

Peter wonders why Domingo's wife isn't afraid that he might eat her in his sleep. Domingo looks like someone who could do that.

His uncle's colleague is the head of the school's disciplinary office and is said to be very scary. He and Peter's uncle are very good friends, and their new house was reportedly found with his help.

"Wow," Peter thinks, "With my uncle's friend around, no one at school will dare to bully me, not that I'm afraid of them anyway."

Peter clenches his newly strengthened fists, excited about the abilities he gained after being bitten by that strange spider.

Aunt May is always worried about their safety after moving to Hell's Kitchen, and Peter often feels the urge to tell her that he can protect them.

...

In the principal's office, Alvin stands in front of a large mirror, trying hard not to look at the scantily clad Jessica, who is adjusting the collar of his newly bought black suit.

Jessica shyly moves closer to Alvin, carefully examining him in the suit she picked out.

Satisfied, she nods but then catches Alvin glancing at her neckline. Jessica lets out a shy squeal, covers her chest with her left hand, and punches Alvin with her right, nearly making him jump.

Alvin suppresses the urge to retort. Ever since he accidentally walked in on Jessica showering, life has been increasingly difficult.

But does this girl have to be so strong? Is there anything to see at your chest? Do you ever want to find a boyfriend?

Ginny, wearing a pretty princess dress, sits on the sofa with her hair down, eating snacks given by the black owner of Robert's supermarket.

Usually, Dad would tie her hair into a nice ponytail, but today he's busy. Jessica insists on him wearing the suit she bought, which has taken half the day. But it's okay to leave her hair down, though it keeps tickling her.

Actually, the suit doesn't look good at all. Ginny still prefers Dad in jeans and a shirt. Jessica's dress looks even worse, a silver dress that's blindingly shiny and barely covers anything. At least the weather is hot.

Time is running out, so Alvin quickly sends Jessica, who is still trying to adjust his tie, away.

Alvin walks to the door but can't help returning to fix Ginny's hair, tying it into cute pigtails. He checks her over—perfect, very cute.

He tells Ginny to stay in the office with Jessica and meet at the schoolyard for the ceremony. The community school doesn't have an auditorium, but it doesn't matter. He believes the students and parents don't care where the graduation ceremony is held.

Alvin heads to the school entrance to welcome today's guests, not the students, but some influential figures. For example, the honorary principal, Mr. Tony Stark.
