Druid in the Marvel Universe Chapter 135: It's Great to Be Alive

Phil had no clue what Alvin was scheming, but he figured it was best to just roll with it for now.

He shot a glance at the cocky Asgardians, then turned and waved at his buddies to start clearing out the crowd.

The black suits and handguns still had some scare factor, and folks started to leave, though they weren't exactly sprinting.

Alvin's heart was racing like it hadn't in years. That creepy feeling of being watched was seriously messing with him.

As the Asgardians sneered at him, Alvin hit the button on his remote, and War God No. 3 snapped into action, assembling its armor in no time.

The badass look of the armor made the aliens pause for a sec, but they didn't seem too worried. They just watched Alvin, curious about what a human could possibly do. Challenge a god? Yeah, right.

Alvin cranked up the mech's loudspeaker and said, "Hey, do me a solid and get outta this town. I think you guys are gonna stir up trouble, and the locals can't handle that."

The short, stocky dude laughed and said, "Nah, we're throwing a party here to catch up with old pals. Mortal, you have no idea who you're messing with. You should be grateful!"

Ignoring the guy, Alvin strapped his double-edged battle axe to his back and stretched a bit.

With a loud "boom," Alvin maxed out War God No. 3's power, grabbed Thor by the neck with his right hand, and clutched the short dude's ugly mug with his left, charging down the street.

The short guy's head smashed into a mailbox, four utility poles, and his groin scraped against a fire hydrant.

Thor, dangling by his neck, clung desperately to the mech's arm, kicking like crazy to break free.

The other three Asgardians hesitated for a moment before chasing after Alvin.

Phil, more freaked out than ever, kept directing the crowd to get the heck out. Alvin's actions screamed that something big was about to go down. And when big stuff happens, regular folks usually get caught in the crossfire.

The town wasn't huge, and Alvin sprinted for about half a minute before hitting the desert.

He tossed Thor aside like a ragdoll, then stopped the mech abruptly. Grabbing the short guy's head with his left hand, he lifted him high and slammed him into the ground with all his might.

He was seriously pissed at these aliens' attitude. You can't just come to Earth and disrespect humans like that!

Just as Alvin finished his epic slam and bent down to see if he made the guy wet himself, he got hit from behind by some unknown attack. When he turned around, he saw a barely-dressed woman holding up a handsome dude with a mustache, who was puking blood everywhere.

A black-haired warrior with a scimitar hesitated to strike Alvin. His buddy's weird fate—slashing at Alvin's neck only to end up puking blood himself—left him totally confused. What the heck was going on?

Were Earthlings about to give Asgard a run for their money?

Needle Aura, reflecting 1010% of damage. Fighting Alvin could be a death wish!

Alvin's heart pounded as he looked up at the sky. A thick beam of light shot down and landed nearby.

When the beam vanished, a massive robot stood there.

Thor, still reeling from being tossed, saw the giant robot and groaned, shouting to the sky, "Loki, just kill me and spare the others!"

The robot complied, opening a big hole in its face and firing a thick red beam at Thor.

Wherever the red beam hit, it left a deep mark, with the edges crystallizing from the intense heat.

Alvin wisely stepped aside, thinking, "This is a desert. Y'all can duke it out here. None of you are my people anyway. Just think of it as borrowing the place."

Phil was about to lose it. How could he not notice the chaos in the distance? A bunch of random aliens had turned Earth into their battleground, and that thick red beam had just grazed the edge of the town.

A few curious onlookers who stuck around got lightly brushed by the beam and instantly ignited like candles, burning from the inside out, leaving only a puddle of translucent goo behind!

Phil, usually the calm and collected agent, was now frantic. He was yelling at his colleagues to get the townsfolk out of there. If that red beam hit the town a couple more times, would anyone be left alive?

Seeing the robot's beam in action, Alvin hesitated. Could Thor and his buddies handle this thing?

Alvin soon got his answer! The robot's red beam couldn't be fired willy-nilly, probably due to energy limits or something.

The scantily clad female warrior first saved Thor, then drew a long sword and stabbed the robot's knee. The brief pause let the robot punch her, sending her flying.

The handsome dude who had been puking blood struggled to drag Thor away, while the short, burly guy pulled out a battle axe and, ignoring Alvin, rushed the robot and hacked at its ankle.

The black-haired warrior, dual-wielding scimitars, darted around the robot, leaving marks with each strike.

The fight didn't last long before these brave Asgardians were getting their butts handed to them.

Alvin watched closely but couldn't see what made these so-called Asgardian warriors so special.

Were they just really tough? Because they weren't dead yet!

Alvin looked around, puzzled. With the fight going this way, why hadn't some powerful figure shown up to take down the robot and save Thor? Or why hadn't Thor himself had a dramatic moment, summoning his hammer to defeat the robot?

Was he just gonna watch the famous Thor get killed?

After watching the spectacle for a while, Alvin caught the robot's attention, and a red beam shot toward him.

Still alert, Alvin quickly dodged to the side, avoiding the attack. Now Alvin had no choice; the robot had made the decision for him.

Cranking the mech's power to the max, Alvin drew the battle axe from his back and charged at the robot, aiming for its knee.

The battle axe, enhanced with runes, had a special effect that ignored defenses. The robot's tough outer shell seemed nonexistent as the axe severed its right leg below the knee.

The wound flashed with four different colors, each flash causing an explosive burst at the robot's injury site. It was terrifying!

From any angle, any two-legged creature missing a leg would fall! The robot was no exception!

The short, burly guy, clutching the severed leg, bit his fist in astonishment and looked uncertainly at the handsome, vomiting dude, saying, "What were we doing earlier? I almost wanted to axe him! Being alive is great!"
