Druid in the Marvel Universe Chapter 45: One-on-One, Hell's Kitchen Rules

At the entrance of the school building, Frank stood as straight as a javelin. In recent days, Frank had completely taken over Alvin's duties, responsible for "intimidating the troublemakers."

Seeing the kids look at Frank as if he were a wild beast, Alvin felt that his past efforts at the school were nothing compared to Frank's. Maybe the school could be renamed "Hell's Kitchen West Point Community School" in the future.

Nick, sitting in a wheelchair pushed by his neighbor Gavin, listened to people around him complain about Frank, "He's a demon. No, even the worst thugs in Hell's Kitchen can't compare to him." Nick pretended not to know Frank, nodding in agreement and joining in the complaints about the guy who had significantly lowered their happiness index at school.

Nick's reckless behavior, treating his dad like a stranger, made Gavin, who was pushing his wheelchair and knew about his relationship with Frank, widen his eyes.

Alvin walked to the entrance of the school building with a smile, punched Frank in the chest, and said, "Buddy, well done. I knew the position of Disciplinary Director was a place where you could shine. But buddy, we need to talk later. I found you an assistant."

Frank, with his head held high, didn't even look at Alvin. His cold eyes stared at every student approaching, waving Alvin away, indicating he was very busy. These kids had been restless lately, betting on who could smuggle contraband into the school, which put a lot of pressure on him. After all, he wasn't Thor, who could sniff out contraband.

In the principal's office, Alvin crossed his arms, coldly watching a few gang leaders with significant status in Hell's Kitchen.

Alvin didn't listen to a word they said, just coldly watching them. These parents of underachievers coming to his office to cause trouble? If he paid them any mind, where would his dignity be?

Seeing Alvin's displeased expression, the group got a bit scared. They discussed among themselves and decided to let the Russian, Alexei, represent them in negotiations with Alvin.

The bear-like arms dealer stood somewhat awkwardly in front of Alvin and said, "Alvin, my friend, you have to help. My son Anton," pointing to a bald kid with a full beard standing outside the door, looking older than Alvin, "has been having nightmares every day. Alvin looked at Alexei like he was an idiot and said, "Your son is afraid of detention? He spent more time in detention last semester than in class. Buddy, your son tricked you."

Alexei glanced at his unfortunate son and angrily said, "But that bastard Frank shaved all the hair off my son's body with a whaling knife, except for his beard."

Alvin could imagine how terrifying it must have been to have a butcher-like guy shave all your hair with a foot-long knife. No wonder the former school bully now acted like a scared chicken. But using a whaling knife was a bit excessive.

Alvin, a bit embarrassed, said to Alexei, "Buddy, Frank might have gone too far, but I believe Anton must have done something wrong. I heard he's been doing well on the football team lately?"

Alexei, a bit proud, said, "Yes, Anton has been doing well, his grades have improved, and he's now the starting tight end on the football team." Then his face darkened, "But he doesn't want to come to school these days, afraid of being laughed at."

Listening to Alexei talk about his son's good grades and being a key player on the team felt awkward to Alvin. A gun dealer talking about these things didn't fit his image. Shouldn't he be bringing a gun to confront Frank? Talking to me about this makes it hard for me to get mad at you.

Alvin, a bit helpless, said, "So what exactly did Anton do to deserve this from Frank?"

Alexei hesitated and said, "He supposedly shaved one of his teammates' heads bald. But that was just a joke between kids."

Alvin coldly looked at Alexei, not believing his nonsense. Just shaving a head wouldn't make Frank do that. He coldly said, "A joke? You call that a joke? Buddy, we can be ruthless and cruel, but we have to be reasonable. Now I think Anton got what he deserved. Or you can consider Frank's actions a joke too. Hmm, how about the nickname 'Cold-faced Joker Frank'?"

Alexei, a bit uneasy, said, "Buddy, we all know what's going on. I actually think the school is doing well now, but Frank is too strict. Before he came, I saw hope for Anton to go to college. But now he doesn't even want to come to school. What should we do?"

Hearing this, Alvin felt a bit embarrassed. The community school emphasized "correcting mistakes and saving people." Scaring kids away from school wasn't good. After all, it's a school, not a prison.

Alvin felt his decision to have old Parker assist Frank this morning was very wise.
