Druid in the Marvel Universe Chapter 91: Friends Are Just Friends

After hanging up on Old Parker, Alvin had some guesses about why Matt and the others went to the island nation. Daredevil isn't someone who shirks responsibility. But that's not his problem; let them go to the island and fight the Hand!

Picking up the reluctant little Ginny, Alvin left the court. "A girl like you loves watching boys fight? That's not good. Come with me to the office for a break!"

Along the way, Ginny sulkily tugged at her dad's nose, babbling complaints!

Luckily, they ran into Mrs. Wilson, who practically snatched Ginny away, saving Alvin's nose!

As they neared the school building, Alvin saw Old Parker from a distance, with the bear-like Zach following him.

Zach was carrying a lawnmower, stepping down the stairs. The lawnmower, which was quite large for most people, seemed as light as a vacuum cleaner in his hands.

A short kid was bouncing around Zach like a restless monkey!

Old Parker saw Alvin and quickly walked over, looking a bit guilty.

Alvin knew what he was going to say and raised his hand to stop him, smiling, "Old Parker, mowing the lawn isn't your job. Don't wear yourself out!"

Old Parker glanced back at Zach and his restless nephew, smiling, "I need to find something to do. The school's on break; I can't just take a paycheck for nothing, right? Besides, with Big Zach and Peter helping, mowing the lawn only takes a day!"

Alvin looked at the two kids standing not far away, hesitant to come over, and called out with a smile, "Big Zach, I heard you did something stupid the other night! You're lucky Frank's busy, or you'd be in trouble!"

Zach scratched his bald head, a bit shy, "Hehe, that was Anton's idea. I was planning to wait until they got out to beat them up! But Anton couldn't wait; he's leaving for Los Angeles tomorrow. The USC team starts training early this year!"

Alvin waved his hand, signaling the muscle-bound fool to get lost, then looked at the acne-faced kid and said, "You're Peter? Peter Parker?"

Peter scratched his head, a bit shy, "Yes, Principal Alvin, I'm Peter. Hehe, you're my idol!"

Alvin liked kids who knew how to flatter. Laughing, he bumped fists with Peter and said, "I hope you have a great two years at school. I heard your grades are good; that'll make things easier for you!"

Peter smiled excitedly, "Thanks! I talked to Professor Cage; he likes me. He thinks I might get into MIT. I hope he's right. Hehe, I'm not very confident myself!"

Alvin felt great hearing that. His school might have an MIT prospect; that's fantastic. Just hope Old Cage doesn't corrupt the kid; he's a genuine old rascal! If Spider-Man ends up with a cowboy attitude, that'd be a disaster!

Looking at the innocent-faced kid in front of him, Alvin thought for a moment, then smiled indifferently. Who cares! He's a good kid. Maybe having a web-slinging, gun-toting playboy in New York wouldn't be so bad!

Alvin lightly patted Peter's shoulder and said, "Keep it up, kid. You're going to be something special!"

Peter shyly touched his head, suddenly remembering something, "Oh, Principal Alvin, I have a good friend who wants to come here too. He's checking out schools with his dad right now. I think you'd be interested in meeting him!"

Alvin raised an eyebrow, smiling, "Then you need to tell me who he is so I can decide if I'm interested!"

Peter chuckled, "Harry, Harry Osborn. His dad is the president of Osborn Industries, Norman Osborn. He's a super-rich guy, hehe!"

Alvin laughed, "Peter, are you friends with Harry because his dad is super-rich?"

Peter looked insulted, almost jumping, "Of course not! Harry and I are good friends; it has nothing to do with who his dad is!"

Alvin spread his hands, smiling, "See, who Harry's dad is doesn't affect your friendship. By the same logic, who Harry's dad is can't decide if the school will accept him, right?"

Peter was a bit confused by Alvin's logic but instinctively nodded, "I guess so!"

Alvin ruffled the head of the silly kid and said, "Don't always mention your friend's dad. It has nothing to do with you. Friends are friends; don't let their family affect your relationship! And don't envy others, especially friends. Remember, you're our future MIT star, buddy. Keep it up!"

Old Parker was pleased. He always thought Peter was a bit insecure; otherwise, he wouldn't have gone through 11th grade without a girlfriend. Of course, now that he's at the community school, he doesn't need a girlfriend.

Peter is a kind kid. His only good friend is Harry Osborn, that quirky kid! Sometimes Peter envies Harry's family situation, which is unavoidable. After all, one comes from a billionaire family, the other from a retired worker's family.

But today, Alvin taught him a lesson, and Old Parker was happy.

Old Parker checked the time and called Peter and Zach, "Guys, time to work. We've got a lot to do today! The sooner we finish, the sooner we can get home to Aunt May's apple pie!"

Peter saluted Alvin, happily ran behind Zach, jumped on his back, and shouted, "Big Zach, we need to speed up! Apple pie, I can't wait!"

Watching the two kids playfully run to the lawn, Alvin smiled and waved to Old Parker, then turned and walked into the school building. There was a big shot waiting!

Alvin wanted to see what the future "Green Goblin" was like!

A super-rich guy willing to send his son to a community school? That's rare!

On the fourth floor, Alvin saw a handsome brown-haired boy, about seventeen or eighteen, standing by the window, enviously watching Peter working and playing on the lawn.

In the hallway, Vice Principal Nelson was accompanying a stern-faced, horse-faced middle-aged man with a pursed mouth. He must be Norman Osborn!

Seeing Alvin, Vice Principal Nelson happily introduced, "This is our principal, Alvin Ye!"

Then he turned to Alvin, "This is Mr. Norman Osborn from Osborn Industries!"

Alvin smiled, shook hands with Osborn, and said, "Nice to meet you, Mr. Osborn!"

Osborn's stern expression didn't change, and he said stiffly, "Nice to meet you too. I didn't expect you to be so young!"

Alvin didn't mind Osborn's arrogance. He lightly glanced at the blonde, blue-eyed, curvy secretary who looked like she belonged in a certain type of movie, always following Osborn.

Alvin deeply felt that these rich guys were all the same!
