Druid in the Marvel Universe Chapter 22: I'm Not a Bad Person, Really!

Hearing Alvin's threat, Black Bear got all jittery. He knew his boss was chilling at the Long Island villa today, but the fact that Alvin knew too? That was freaky.

Shaking like a leaf, he fished out his phone and dialed his boss.

Alvin, being all considerate, grabbed the phone, put it on speaker, and shoved it in Black Bear's face.

"This is Jason!" came a greasy, slippery voice.

"Boss, it's Black Bear," Black Bear croaked.

"Oh~ what's up with your voice? Did the girls at the club wear you out? Haha!"

"Boss, are you at the Long Island villa, taking a bath?" Black Bear asked, all cautious.

"Do I have to tell you when I take a bath? Black Bear, you losing it?"

"No, boss, I came to talk with Alvin from Hell's Kitchen today, remember? I told you about it. He knows everything about you," Black Bear said, sounding all freaked out.

There was a pause on the other end, like he was talking to someone nearby.

"What the hell is going on?" the voice on the other end snapped.

"It's Alvin. He came to negotiate, wants us to kick out all his students and any minors connected to us from the gang."

"Hah, who does he think he is? Even the mayor wouldn't dare say that to me! Black Bear, are you an idiot? Kill him, or who will fear us in the future?"

Black Bear went quiet for a moment, then muttered, "Boss, all my guys are down! I called you 'cause Alvin knows where you are and what you're doing. I'm really worried~~"

Before Black Bear could finish, gunshots rang out from the other end. At first, they were muffled, but then they got louder, with intense gunfire blasting through the phone.

Black Bear looked at Alvin in terror and pleaded, "You haven't even talked to my boss yet! This isn't fair; we can still negotiate!"

Alvin was just as puzzled. He had planned to have his crow teach Bloody Jason a lesson if things went south. But what was with the gunfire on the phone? Something was off.

Turning to look at JJ, he saw JJ giving him a resentful look, like, "Boss, you could've let me handle it. No need to get someone else!" It was like Alvin had cheated on him or something.

Alvin stood up and kicked JJ, "What the hell is going on?"

Black Bear, lying on the ground like a fat worm with limp legs, twisted and screamed in despair, "Alvin, boss, you can't do this. We haven't finished negotiating. We agree to your demands. Stop, please stop!"

Ignoring Black Bear, Alvin communicated with the crow again. Then he saw a crazy dude with a target tattooed on his head, holding a machine gun and going wild in Bloody Jason's villa.

Now it was clear; this was all Kingpin's doing! There probably wouldn't be any survivors there!

Since that was the case, Black Bear was useless. Alvin signaled JJ to knock him out to spare him some pain.

Alvin took out his phone and called community cop Michael.

"Hey, Michael, it's Alvin."

...

"Yeah, I need to report a crime. Some thugs tried to mess with my pet, but my pet messed them up. You need to send a few ambulances."

...

"Of course, at this hour, no ambulance would dare come to Hell's Kitchen. Had to call you."

...

"No trouble at all. I've talked to them, and I think they won't cause any more problems."

...

"I suggest you hurry. The ambulances in the Big Apple might be super busy today."

...

As Alvin stood by the roadside waiting for the ambulances, a big-nosed school bus rolled up from a distance.

Alvin checked his watch; it was nine o'clock, and the evening classes for the senior students had just ended.

The bus screeched to a halt in front of the restaurant, and the door swung open. Garvin hopped off, eyeing the tough guys sprawled on the ground. From a distance, he gave Alvin a quick bow and shouted, "Evening, Principal!" before darting into the apartment across the street.

The driver, who looked like a Mexican serial killer, grinned like a maniac and hollered at Alvin through the open door, "Need any help?"

Alvin glanced at the group of kids of all ages, their faces smushed against the bus windows, gawking at the bloody scene with a mix of "fear" and "awe."

He waved his hand, signaling the creepy driver to scram. The driver let out a sinister laugh, shut the door, honked twice, and drove off with a wicked grin at the kids on the bus.

Hearing the kids' screams echoing from the bus, Alvin shook his head. Who'd believe that the scary-looking driver wouldn't even hurt a fly, and the Remington under the windshield was always unloaded?

This guy was Alvin's pick for a school bus driver, based on his own twisted standards.

While other schools had kind, middle-aged drivers, Hell's Kitchen community school's only requirement was that drivers had to look like thugs; otherwise, they couldn't handle the Hell's Kitchen brats and street punks.

This guy was an exception. Though he wasn't brave, he had the face of a psycho killer.

Alvin hired him on the spot, and he drove the most dangerous route in Hell's Kitchen.

His name was Domingo Swag, a Mexican illegal immigrant.

After a bit, four ambulances rolled up in front of Alvin, escorted by a cop car.

Michael and Scott hopped out first to check the scene. They found that, except for Black Bear, who looked pretty beat up, everyone else was relatively okay. At least no one was dead.

In a place like Hell's Kitchen, these injuries were no big deal.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Michael called the doctors and paramedics from the ambulances to start their work.

A hot black nurse in a tight uniform was busy flirting with JJ, completely ignoring the gang members on the ground.

She efficiently directed the burly paramedics to load them onto the ambulances like cattle.

"Hey~ Temple, why don't you just get a room with JJ? I'll cover the room fee for that bastard. Next time, don't mess around in my storage room. I have a daughter, you little bitches better watch it."

The hot nurse Temple flipped Alvin the bird, blew JJ a kiss, made a phone call gesture, and followed the ambulance with a roar.

Michael and Scott nodded at Alvin as a greeting, then drove off to escort the ambulances to the hospital.

JJ stood beside Alvin, looking like he wanted to say something but hesitated, making Alvin uncomfortable. Facing JJ's weird expression, Alvin snapped, "What is it?"

JJ hesitated for a moment and then said, "Boss, do you have someone else outside?"

What kind of question was that? What someone else? How could a burly man ask a strong, handsome young man like me if I had someone else outside?

Alvin kicked JJ in the thigh and then flipped him the bird, cursing, "Speak properly, or I'll make you suffer."

JJ didn't get mad after being kicked. He dusted off his leg and cautiously said, "Boss, for stuff like this, you can ask me to do it. No need to find someone else outside. Those people might not be reliable."

Alvin shook his head helplessly and said, "That wasn't my doing; it was Kingpin's."

JJ didn't say anything, just gave Alvin a "you can't fool me" look.

Facing this baseless accusation, Alvin said helplessly, "I wouldn't do something like killing an entire family, really!"
