Druid in the Marvel Universe Chapter 85: Steve's Trouble
Misty quickly finished the entire cigar, throwing the butt on the ground in a fit of anger and stomping on it forcefully!
Feeling a bit melancholic, the strong-willed police chief pulled herself together and glared at Alvin, saying, "What's going on today?"
Misty pointed to Old Kent and his busy crew, asking, "Did you have a fight here? Where are the dead and injured?"
Alvin shrugged, pointed to the cigar butt on the ground, and said, "Authentic Cuban cigar, $18!"
Seeing Misty's grim expression, Alvin smiled and said, "Our residents are voluntarily fixing the community roads. Isn't that a good thing?"
Misty gritted her teeth, picked up a bullet casing from the ground, and angrily said, "Where did this damn bullet casing come from? Do you need to fire shots to celebrate road repairs in the middle of the night?
Alvin, can you stop treating me like a fool!"
Alvin smiled at Misty and said, "Trust me, Chief Misty, you know this isn't good for you. It's just a waste of your time!
Your most important task right now is to find yourself a suitable partner, not to go on patrol alone every day!
I like people with a sense of justice, but they need to use their brains first!"
Described as brainless, Misty was furious. Her steel arm slammed the ground, shattering a few tiles.
Misty angrily shouted at Alvin, "Why can't you all cooperate with my work? Why do you all think I'm an idiot?"
Alvin glanced at the broken tiles, looked at Misty, and said, "I once said that if you could last a week on the streets of Hell's Kitchen without dying or running away, I would personally welcome you!
But I think I need to take back my words. Chief Knight, you really don't belong in Hell's Kitchen! Your sense of justice has almost no room to survive here!
If I were you, I would file a transfer request, or I would bring breakfast to the police station every day and find a way to bond with my colleagues!
No one can survive alone in Hell's Kitchen, no matter what they do!"
Misty listened to Alvin's words, somewhat understanding and somewhat confused. She felt like a complete failure because, to this day, she still made her own coffee as the police chief!
This isn't normal! But she couldn't find the real reason. Her past life and career experiences left her unprepared for the current situation!
Seeing Misty's puzzled expression, Alvin sighed and sincerely said, "Go have a serious talk with your colleagues, get to know them, and ask for their opinions when doing things!
Michael is a good cop. He did well before you came. You need to trust him, not treat him like a dirty cop!
The cops in Hell's Kitchen may seem unqualified to you, but there are no dirty cops here. A dirty cop wouldn't last a week!"
Misty nodded thoughtfully. She knew her attitude towards her colleagues wasn't great because she thought the police station was full of incompetent people, which is why Hell's Kitchen had become what it is now. She came to change that.
Maybe it's time for a change!
While Alvin and Misty were chatting, JJ came out of the house, looking grim!
JJ had clashed with Misty before and didn't think much of her. He gave Alvin a look, glaring at Misty, signaling that she could leave!
Surprisingly, Misty just glared back at JJ, stood up, dusted herself off, and softly said "Thank you!" to Alvin before getting into her police car and driving away!
Alvin pulled out a cigar and handed one to JJ, lighting one for himself as well, and asked with a smile, "What's up, buddy? You don't look so good."
JJ lit his cigar, took a puff, and said in a deep voice, "That guy talked, but the result isn't good. There's something very important to the Hand buried under the school. We're going to have trouble!"
Alvin laughed and said, "What kind of trouble? We'll just kill them all. They dared to kidnap my students and turn them into those things. Even if they don't come to us, I'll go find them.
Oh, what's under the school that's so important to them? Maybe we should dig it up, gather all the Hand members, and wipe them out!"
JJ scratched his head, uncertain, and said, "That guy kept talking about dragon bones, resurrection, immortality, and stuff. I don't really get it.
There are plenty of dinosaur fossils in museums. Why would they come to Hell's Kitchen to dig for this stuff? Are they out of their minds?"
Alvin shrugged and said, "Who knows! Maybe the fossils under Hell's Kitchen have some special use!
But who cares, that's not our problem. We just need to kill them all!"
JJ exhaled, thinking, yeah, why worry so much? Just kill them all!
Alvin curiously asked, "How did Frank do? I thought he was a tough guy!"
JJ sneered and said, "Frank was about to talk after cutting off his sixth finger, but Frank insisted on cutting off all ten fingers before listening to him.
These guys seem to fear losing body parts more than death!
Oh, by the way, we got the locations of their remaining bases in New York. There aren't many left. Frank and I will head out soon to take them down. If we run into any leaders, do we need to keep them alive?"
Alvin shook his head and said, "There's nothing left to ask. Why keep them alive?
Kill them all and let everyone know not to mess with my community school!"
JJ nodded happily. Working with Alvin was always straightforward. After all, why deal with so much trouble? If they're all dead, who can cause trouble?
Alvin thought for a moment and asked JJ, "Where's Steve? Why hasn't he come out?"
JJ gestured a thumbs-up to Alvin and said, "He's a great guy. That guy, Sin or whatever, confessed to some really disgusting things. Steve might be a bit emotional, yeah, he's very violent."
Alvin asked with interest, "How does he compare to Frank?"
JJ thought for a moment and said, "He's not as ruthless.
But he's a very hot-tempered guy. I like him a lot. He'll be a good buddy!"
Alvin punched JJ's chest and laughed, "Yes, Steve is a good buddy!
You'll see, he's a great guy. We'll all be proud to fight alongside him!
Provided he can handle the football team kids!
I heard this year's team is quite lively. Some kids just out of juvenile detention have been put into the school and joined the team."
JJ shrugged and said, "I think it's fine. 'Roadblock' Jamal and 'Lightning' William are good kids.
They were sent by a guy named Sean Porter. That guy is really strong.
He organized a football team in the juvenile detention center to train these kids.
I like him a lot!"
