Druid in the Marvel Universe Chapter 74: Perfect Above the Waist

Chief George knew that Alvin had some special abilities, so he didn't bother him much. He just called out, "Tell your two buddies to tone it down a bit. Another twenty people just died, man. I'm going crazy here. You know how busy I am, right?"

Alvin nodded noncommittally and said, "I'll make a call, but I can't promise anything. You know what the Hand has been up to. I have to respond, or there will be more trouble in the future."

Chief George nodded, said nothing more, and turned to organize the defense line, evacuate the crowd, and instructed his subordinates not to interfere with Alvin.

While talking to Chief George, Alvin was not idle. The two ghost wolves, "Athens" and "Rome," had already found Pepper's location inside Stark Tower.

She was trapped in a women's restroom, along with Stark's bodyguard, Happy. It was Happy's bravery that kept a few armed men at bay outside the restroom door.

These minor villains couldn't withstand the onslaught of the two ghost wolves. Within seconds, they were all taken down. The wolves' sharp teeth destroyed their weapons, and their claws tore through their Achilles tendons.

"Athens" stood guard over the fallen villains while "Rome" walked to the door and knocked very humanely.

After a moment, the restroom door opened, and a greasy, chubby face peeked out—it was bodyguard Happy.

Seeing the gunmen writhing on the ground, Happy breathed a sigh of relief. But when he saw the ghost wolf "Rome" at the door, he couldn't help but touch his unlucky nose, which still hadn't fully healed from the last time he was thrown around and was still a bit stuffy.

Pepper rushed out excitedly, pushing Happy aside and hugging "Rome's" big head enthusiastically. "Thank you so much, Thor. You're amazing!"

"Rome," annoyed and impatient, left a paw print on Pepper's face and pushed her away roughly.

Seriously, how could she mistake her savior wolf?

...

Alvin watched the two guys fighting in front of him, stylishly put on a Bluetooth headset, and dialed Stark's number.

Stark's anxious voice came through the phone, "Dude, where are you? I'm waiting for you to save me!"

Alvin laughed and said, "I'm here, watching you get your ass kicked."

Stark sighed in relief, his snarky habit kicking in, "Man, did you walk here? My grandma moves faster than you!"

Alvin aimed his gun at the two metal men fighting, but his poor marksmanship made him hesitate to shoot for fear of hitting the wrong target.

"Why don't you call your grandma then, you jerk? Get out of the way; I'm about to shoot."

Stark finally spotted Alvin, standing about 40 meters from the fight, aiming his gun.

Stark gasped and said, "Dude, what the hell are you holding? Your grandma's cane? That thing couldn't hit a bird! Are you kidding me?"

Alvin calmly dodged a flying piece of debris, smiled, and said, "You'd better get farther away. This girl has a temper."

Stark smartly took a hit on the shoulder and rolled about ten meters away.

Seeing an opportunity, Alvin immediately fired a shot.

"Bang!" The bullet grazed the big metal man's shoulder, tearing off a large piece of metal and hitting the outer wall of Stark Tower, creating a big hole.

The big mech rolled on the spot in shock, looking around for his attacker. Alvin, holding a shotgun, was automatically ignored.

Alvin awkwardly looked around, realizing no one seemed to notice him. He reloaded the old Winchester and aimed again, hearing Stark's surprised voice in his ear, "Dude, where did you hide a Sidewinder missile?"

Alvin continued to aim at the still-reacting big mech and said, "I told you, this girl has a temper."

"Bang!" Another shot.

This time, he hit the mech's leg, blowing off both the mech's leg and the operator's leg inside. The big mech fell to the ground, writhing in pain.

Stark wasn't wrong. This old gun, embedded with three "Ral" runes, had an extra 90 points of fire damage.

Alvin had tested it. Five points of fire damage was roughly equivalent to a grenade's explosion. Ninety points made calling it a Sidewinder missile an understatement.

Even from thirty or forty meters away, Alvin could clearly hear the screams, indicating the guy was done for.

Seeing Alvin take down the big mech with one shot, Stark exclaimed, "Man, you have to introduce me to your girl. She has quite the temper. I love it."

Alvin noncommittally grunted, "Hmm." As if he would lend out his girl so easily. Without a new energy system for the school, you wouldn't even get a look!

"Go check on Pepper! She's terrified!" Alvin said, ignoring Stark and walking towards the big mech.

Alvin was curious. He remembered bringing back the mech Stark built with a hammer from Afghanistan. How did this guy manage to make another one?

And this one looked a lot like the mech Stark had given him, just a bit smaller. Plus, the aesthetics were terrible. Who makes a high-tech mech with a helmet that looks like a hard hat?

When Alvin reached the big mech, the screaming had stopped. Obadiah struggled to remove his helmet, looked at Alvin, and said, "Didn't expect to lose to you. Seems like you were the one who saved Stark last time too!

Give me a quick death. I don't want to go to prison as a cripple." Obadiah was acting tough now.

But Alvin didn't care. Helping earlier was one thing; killing Obadiah now would be murder, and Chief George was watching nearby.

Alvin examined the mech. It was well-made but lacked weapons. Who knows why?

Such a powerful mech, and you didn't even equip it with missiles or something? Who can you beat with bare hands?

Stark got beaten so badly because there were too many people around, and he couldn't use his weapons for fear of collateral damage.

Suddenly, Alvin remembered. The mech Stark gave him was the same! No weapon system, just a big axe.

Looks like Obadiah stole the blueprints for his mech. Too bad it wasn't very useful for most people.

Stark, the bastard, wouldn't give the best stuff to anyone, not even his savior. Though Alvin didn't mind, it suited him better.

Seeing the exposed arc reactor on the mech's chest, Alvin decided to keep his distance. That thing was bad news.

Turning around, he saw Natasha, dressed in a tight, sexy combat suit, running over with a few black-suited agents. Alvin stopped.

Natasha greeted Alvin with a smile, as if their previous unpleasant encounter had never happened. "Hello, Alvin. We meet again."

Alvin carefully examined the dashing Natasha. From the waist up, she was perfect, but her legs were a bit short, even with hidden heels.

Alvin smiled and said, "I hope you guys are a bit friendlier this time. After all, I did help, didn't I?"

Natasha didn't want to argue with Alvin. She had more important things to do, so she said, "Thank you very much for your help. We'll take it from here."

Alvin glanced back at Obadiah, understanding what she wanted. Smiling, he said, "I think it's my duty to protect a friend's company property. Don't you agree, Miss Natasha?"
