Omega Bound Chapter 102
Cyrus
The sweet aroma of vanilla hits me like a gut punch when I come face to face with my mate. I can feel the bond throbbing in my chest, pulling me toward her. Her eyes open wide telling me she feels it too. She has large chains hooked to metal cuffs around her wrists that are also chained together. Her ankles have the same cuffs, and the chains are secured to hooks in the concrete floor. She has a muzzle around her mouth and secured to the back of her head. Artemis fills with rage as he chants ‘mate’ repeatedly in my head.
I will kill every one of these sons of bitches for doing this to her. I can sense her wolf, and her bruising appears to be minimal however, she is dirty and disheveled. I can't see her face, but I already know she is the most beautiful shifter I've ever seen.
Fate works like that.
"It's okay. We're not here to hurt you. They rescued me from another place, and we are here to get you out." Ayla informs her, trying to put her at ease. I am not registering fear from her, just anger, confusion, and a hint of something else. Excitement maybe.
"Hurry up and help me get these chains off of my mate." I call out to Thane and my mate arches one eyebrow in the air. "We have to hurry, we have incoming, and I sent my team away with the others we rescued. We are on our own." Thane tells her as he starts pulling on her chains. I get close and inhale her scent deep. The smell is enough to make me groan with anticipation.
"Now I am going to reach around and take this off of you, but no biting. Save that for the bedroom." I tell her and she arches her eyebrow again. I can sense my mate has a little attitude. I hope she's fiesty.
I reach around and undo the leather straps to the muzzle, and she takes in a large breath of air as Thane has the last of her chains snapped. I take a step back and get a good look at her. She has wild red hair that is thick and falls in curls all around her. Her eyes are vibrant, and incredibly angry looking hazel. She has a perfect nose and pout to go with it. Yep, I'm done for.
I reach my hand out to pull her off the ground and she stares at it for a few breaths before sliding her hand into my gloved hand and I pull her up and into me. "What's my mate’s name?" I ask vaguely registering Thane saying something about leaving.
"Raven. What's my mate’s name?" She asks back. I give her a huge smile and flash some dimples because chicks dig them.
"Cyrus. Why are you down here with all the weapons?"
"Guys, grab some weapons. Talk while leaving. Let's move!" Thane yells out, grabbing Ayla's hand.
Raven turns to a gun rack and throws two around her shoulders before grabbing extra clips and stuffing them into her pants. "I am a weapon." She says while racking her firearm. Oh, I am so hard right now.
"Don't talk dirty to me baby. We still have to get out of here and we can't do that if I end up throwing you over a table." She throws me a weapon, despite already having one and turns to follow Thane and Ayla out of the armory.
We climb the stairs and go through the basement to climb another set. Thane mind-links the teams our location and plan. The plan is to get out without dying and entering the compound again, I can hear vehicles and shifters outside. "Alright, Damon has come back with a team, and they are going to lay down cover fire. Little Wolf, no shield outside unless necessary. If you shield, there can be no survivors got it?"
"What shield?" Raven asks and Thane and I look at each other, discussing via mind-link what to say at this moment. She is my mate, but a stranger. "We can discuss that later. Much later. After we are all well acquainted." I tell her and she rolls her eyes at me.
"I am leaving. I didn't say I was leaving with you," she retorts, straight pissing me off.
"Excuse me, what? Did you just say you weren't leaving with your mate? You do know how fated mates work right? That overwhelming urge you have to bone me right now and never part? The unicorns and all the rainbow shit happening right now? That is the mate bond and there is no getting around it. You are leaving with me."
"We don't have time for this shit." Thane butts in.
"I know what a mate bond is. I also know that I don't know you, so I am not leaving with you. I have shit to do."
"Shit to do besides me? Who is he? He's dead." I feel murderous thinking of someone else's paws on what is mine.
"There is no 'he' you idiot." Raven sternly says while poking her finger into my chest.
"Idiot? Oh baby, keep getting feisty. You're just turning me on more."
"Oh, for fucks sake. WE NEED TO MOVE NOW!" Thane yells out, pushing out some of his alpha aura and we quickly get ourselves under control.
"I am dealing with you later." I tell her and head through the compound.
"There is no later," she informs me and draws her weapon.
"There is a later." I inform her back.
We waited by the compound door until we heard fire. Thane pulls Ayla behind him, and I pull Raven behind me. Well, I try to, but she isn't having it and quickly pulls her arm back. We bolt out of the compound and Thane starts laying fire to the right where the enemy shifters are engaged in fire with Damon and his team. They don't see our bullets coming as we unload them.
More vehicles are pulling up and shifters are bolting out. We are laying down fire, taking cover where we can find it. Raven is managing her gun like she has used the thing her whole life and my wolf and I are filled with pride. She isn't a damsel; she's a warrior.
A shifter comes up behind her and before I can put a bullet in him, she turns, throws up her arm to block his shot, his gun going wide as she puts the barrel of hers under his chin and fires. Blood and matter spray her face, and she doesn't flinch, turning right back around and laying down more fire.
She isn't a warrior.
She is a fire haired God of Death and she's all mine.
I laugh to myself, taking out any shifter my bullets can find.
