"My mother was a Luna, but I was taken at 14 and not trained for the role. I spent some time with the Luna of Pack Clarke. That was helpful, but I would really like to know exactly what the pack was used to here." I feel just about as dejected as I sound.

I have good intentions, but I need to work through a lot of self-doubt. "Well, I grew up pretty much the adopted daughter of our pack Luna. Her son was my mate. Anyway, I am sure you know that. Most packs have guidelines in case of emergencies, temporary role filling when the Alpha and Luna are away etc. This pack probably has one somewhere in an office. Where is Thane's alpha office?"

"Well, he has one in the pack house. There isn't much in the office here yet. But I don't have a key. We will have to wait until he gets back."

"Pfffftttt....girl no. You got some hair pins?" she asked, and I furrowed my brows, looking at her in confusion.

"Probably, yeah."

"Go get them. We have a B&E to perform." she waves her eyebrows at me and starts to head upstairs.

"What is B&E?" I ask.

"Oh, little Luna, how pure you are. Breaking and entering. Clearly, I am the bad influence of this duo. Let's get ready, I don't want to sit around all day. I like to stay busy anyway. Let's go snooping."

An hour later we are ready to head into town. She is wearing a pair of my leggings that are more like short capris on her and Cyrus' hooded sweatshirt he gave me orders through the mind-link to make sure she is wearing all the time, which I don't even know how I would pull that off.

"Okay, we are ready, but there is a problem. How do we get into town? I can't drive. Well, I can't drive well yet. Can you?" she arches an eyebrow at me. "Yeah, dumb question. You can probably drive anything." I say and she nods in agreement. "Thane has a car here. I don't know what kind or whatever, but we can take that." I turned and headed out with her following me.

I didn't check with Thane on this whole office break in. He is in his meetings, and I want him to get it all wrapped up quickly and I don't want to cause it to take longer.

"Woah, wait… wait… wait. Is this his?" she asks shocked, running her hand up and down the side of his red car.

I don't get why she looks like at his car like it is a big deal.

It is little and red.

"Yeah, is this a good one?"

"A good one, are you kidding? Oh yes, this is a good one. I can't wait to drive it."

"Great lets go." I am excited to do this with her.

My excitement soon turned into gut wrenching fear as Raven became extremely comfortable driving this car, apparently no regard to safety or speed necessary. She is in some haul ass; racing mindset and I allow her to have her fun at the expense of my sanity. What are a few minutes spent with death lurking just around one of these many corners she is taking at a high rate of speed, between friends?

She is laughing and enjoying herself. I am holding on to this bar at the ceiling and the center console, trying to hold my breakfast down and smother the bond so Thane doesn't race home and murder my new friend for putting me in perceived danger.

Well, real danger, but what he doesn't know won't hurt him, if I make it back alive.

"I am glad you are enjoying yourself while I am over here, about to lose my lunch." I cover my mouth, forcing back a gag.

"You just need to get used to the speed, then you will be fine." she says calmly before whipping the wheel hard around another corner, shifting my body toward the center of the car. I can't wait until we get to the pack house so I can kiss the ground under my feet.

We pull into the parking lot, and I spend the time opening the bond back up, so I don't have a replay of the last time I forgot to open it.

I feel a tug on it.

Thane must be checking now that he can feel it open. I am surprised he didn't blow up my phone, but I also don't think I remembered to bring it. I don't think Raven has a phone yet either. "Hey, do you have a phone yet?" I ask as we climb out of the car. My stomach is still in knots over the drive.

"No, I don't. I never really needed one before."

"Well after this, we should get you a phone so you can get hold of me, and we can get you some clothes too."

"You don't have to do that for me." she says with her fiery red hair blowing all over in this winter chill as we hurry inside.

"I want to. It was done for me, and I really needed it. Besides, Thane has a charge account at all the stores and told me to buy whatever I wanted." I shrug my shoulders at her.

"In that case, I except. He gave Cyrus the room next to mine so he can torment me, so I don't feel bad about spending his money." I smile as we take the elevator up to Thane's office.

Every shifter we encountered bowed their heads in respect to me. That action is something I am unprepared for and not sure it is something I can get used to. We arrive at Thane's office and Raven holds her hands out. I reach into my pocket and pull out a few pins and hand them over to her.

This seems so weird to be doing.

She moves the pins around a few seconds before declaring success and we enter the office.

We make our way to the bookshelves and start searching through the books and old binders. I find a binder that has duty descriptions of positions in the pack. This is exactly what I have been waiting for. I sit down on the couch and start digging through it. A photo falls out of a much happier time in Thane's life.

He looks just like his father; except he has his mother's eyes and full lips. I am grateful to her for two of my favorite parts of Thane. His dimples came from his father and his sister looks just like her mother. I miss her. I can feel my eyes becoming teary and I quickly put the photo away, trying to not get sidetracked.

Raven is digging through photo albums, and I noticed her gaze lingering on the younger photos of Cyrus longer than I expected. I am sure she is wrestling around with a lot of emotions right now.
