Omega Bound Chapter 32
Thane
Finding Ayla in a full-blown breakdown in her room was devastating. The idea that Cyrus is insinuating that I caused it, is too much to handle.
"Let's let Eric back in and the two of us take this conversation back to my office. I want every available task member combing the streets looking for this wolf." If he is her mate, I have no idea how I will react. I am the one that pulled back from little wolf, but it was for her own good, but undeniably difficult. Maybe me pulling back delivered her mate to her. The fates would slap me in the face like that. Looking back at little wolf in her clinic bed, brings me right back to the moment I laid eyes on her beauty, so damaged, but so beautiful. Leaving this room is proving difficult.
"I want you to go down to the salon and see if there are any surveillance cameras and outside CTV footage Cyrus." I bark at him from my desk. A complete fury of rage, sadness, and confusion.
"Jalena already said she didn't know the guy and that she has no cameras in her shop. You think she is lying? Why would she?" He stands before me, wearing his normal combat clothing and boots.
"I don't know if it is lying. I can't place my finger on it, but my instincts are telling me that something is not right in this situation. I don't know what the scratching I am feeling is, but I don't like it." If there is one thing I have learned throughout my life, it is to trust my instincts.
My head is reeling. Lack of sleep and this one thing after another shit is wearing me down. I am irritable and Ronan is on edge. I’m one wrong word away from shifting and tearing into everything. I know if I let him out, he will either go straight to Ayla or into town to look for her mate. Both options are wrong for us, he is proving difficult to convince and I don't know why. I don't like not knowing something.
The fact that there is a shifter running around town looking for Ayla has my hackles up. If he was her fated mate, his wolf would have scented her here. He should have been able to follow her scent or the bond tug at his chest. However, with Ayla not having her wolf connected, her wolf scent isn't as strong, and she may not be feeling the mate pull. That could possibly be a fact we would need to deal with. If Ayla doesn't feel the pull of the fated mate bond, then how will we know he is her true fated mate? Although that brings me back to the question as to why would anyone lie about the fated mate bond? The paranoia must be stemming from how close I have become with little wolf.
"I think we need to try and pull her wolf out Cyrus. If she has a fated mate, she may not be able to feel the bond without her wolf, and I don't know how else we would know if he were lying or not." I suggest.
"Well, if someone decided to run around and lie about this for no reason, I would like a way to know so I could do something about it. I don't want to harm someone that is innocent.” He is right. Of course, there are always casualties in battle, but it doesn’t make it easy to handle.
“You tried to pull her wolf out several days ago and if I remember right, I found you in here crying to yourself about it."
"I wasn't crying idiot." I smack him in the shoulder and he smacks me back.
"Sorry your stupidence, sulking. You were sulking."
"Stupidence? That isn't even a word, and I was NOT sulking. I was thinking."
"You were sulking, and you looked constipated." I’m going to murder him if he doesn’t get out of my office soon.
"Shut the hell up and get to the beauty shop. I am going to talk to Eric."
"You mean you are going to check on your little wolf?"
"GET OUT CYRUS."
Driving down to the clinic, I am eager to check on Ayla, even if I tell myself I have a different reason for coming here.
"How is she doing Eric? Did she wake up yet?" I ask him, trying not to sound like a worried lover.
"She was attempting to roll her eyes around earlier, but she is pretty much out cold sleeping hard now. Her body needs it."
"I want to talk to you about pulling her wolf out. She wouldn't be able to resist much of anything in this state. Could I pull her wolf out with Ronan if she is sedated?"
"I don't know alpha. That would be difficult I would think, due to being unresponsive. Her mind wouldn't be able to resist the pull, but with it being involuntary it could either not work or be extremely traumatizing going from being unresponsive, in a deep sleep to shifting. I don't know how her body would handle that kind of hot and cold. It has been through 10 years of abuse."
Eric explains his viewpoint and it does make sense but I want to help her in every way possible and if this is one way it could work, I think it is worth a shot.
"Well, I get what you are saying. I don't want to cause her any harm, but we really need to get her wolf out. There is a shifter saying that he recognized her scent as his fated mate, and I have a theory that she won't feel the bond if she isn't connected to her wolf."
"That is a good theory, Alpha. I have a theory that her fated mate could pull her out by reconnecting her wolf by using the bond. If that is true you would want to find her mate to allow him to attempt to pull her wolf out by bonding to her, marking her."
"I can't allow a shifter to bond to her without knowing 100% they are fated. If he was lying for some reason, it would be forced bonding. That is disgraceful and not fair to her true fated mate."
"Why would anyone lie about this Alpha?"
"I don't know Eric, but my gut is telling me we are missing something."
"Maybe it is your gut telling you that you have feelings for Ayla, and it will be difficult to separate those when she has her mate, Alpha."
I ignore him completely and change how this conversation is progressing. I didn't realize that my feelings or whatever you want to call it for Ayla had been so transparent.
"What if you sedate her for a longer period of time. Stronger than sleep. Could she reconnect with her wolf if she was that heavily sedated? Maybe she could pull her own wolf out through connecting with her via a comatose state? I don't know if I even know what I am talking about, but in my head, it makes sense. Sedate her to see if she can have time alone with her wolf. I have heard of it happening before, wolves pulling their counterparts in. I don’t understand it but maybe they can bond prior to having her wake up. That would pull her out."
"That is also a good theory Alpha. Since she has felt her wolf a few times, that would mean that her wolf is trying to reconnect to her. Why can’t she? I don't know, but maybe Ayla can't shut her thoughts off enough to feel her wolf trying to find her."
"That could be Eric. So, are we in agreement?"
"I will get the IV drip now. If I run a cocktail of meds, it will keep her sedated. You could talk to her and help guide her if you had the ability to mind-link her."
"She had talked about joining the pack very briefly, but I asked her to think about it. I don't want to force her. I realize that she has a high likelihood of staying, even more so now she could possibly have a mate, but she has had a lot of people steal her decisions away from her these last ten years and I don't want to add to it."
"Alright I will sedate her, maybe you should pull up a chair next to her, talk with her or try to reach out to her wolf directly. She could possibly hear you." Eric suggests as he leaves to prepare the medications.
"Alright. I think I will do that."
"Hello, little wolf. Or should I say Aramana. I hope you can hear this, because I need you to find Ayla and bond to her. I need your help, and Ronan would really like to meet you. He feels you at times. Rippling in little wolfs mind. Pushing against her barrier. I don't think Ayla feels it though. Are you in there Aramana? Are you trapped in little wolf?"
