Cyrus

I slept like a baby pup. You would think that knowing I could be walking into certain death when I go to the pack house this morning would have had me tossing and turning fitfully through the night, but I slept great. Raven can no longer use the heat clinic, and I give two shits how she feels about it. I get up and stretch. I said nothing to her this morning when I came into my rooms and passed out in the bed. I could use some more sleep, but I will be late to my funeral if I stay in bed.

I hop in the shower, my thoughts constantly going to Raven in the adjoining room. What is she doing? What is she wearing? How will she feel about what I did? I rub my chest as an ache sets in from the bond going without completion. I think the only way Thane got by so long was because he and Ayla were close. Pretty much together all the time. That would be great. I would settle for just her wanting to be near me, instead she keeps pushing me away. I could stay away, but that would only give her what she wants and what she wants is wrong for her. I don't know what it will take for her to understand that I would worship the ground she walked on. My wolf would do anything for hers. I would give my life now just to ensure she could keep on living and what about her? She won't allow herself to even consider me. Probably hurts too much. I understand that, but I am hurting too.

I let out a sigh and leave the shower, toweling off and rummaging around for some clothes. I don't even know if I should be staying here anymore. Damn, I am usually the one giving pep talks and here I am sucking on my own thumb, throwing a pity party. Damn it. I need to get it together.

I exit the bathroom with my towel wrapped around my waist and shake out my longer curls, before running my fingers through them, but I come to a stop when I look up and I am met with fireball standing in my bedroom. Her eyes trail over my chest and abs and I would be lying if I said I didn't puff my chest out a little and run my hand down my abs wiping off invisible whatevers that could be there. "Feel free to use your teeth." I smile at her, showing off my dimples that seem to help Thane all the time, but she isn't taking the bait....yet. "What?" she asks, confused. Her beautiful red hair would look great wrapped around my fist. "You are staring at my body fireball. You can feel my muscles all you want. Come over here and run your fangs over them." "Ugh. I was not staring and are you ever serious?" "I am serious, and you were staring. Now, excuse me but I have to get dressed. I will be late to my funeral if I don't." "What are you talking about? What funeral?" "Don't worry about it fireball." I walk over to the dresser and start pulling out camo combat pants and a tee. Maybe I should go comando. She might think that's hot.

I shake out my curls again and turn to head through her rooms and to her kitchen. Last I knew, there was some leftovers in there. Better not argue for my life on an empty stomach. "Where are you going?" she follows, her angry little feet fast behind me. "You have a lot of questions this morning fireball. What do you care what I am doing or where I am going?" I question as I rummage around in her fridge. "What about me? Am I to just stay here all day? And how long are you staying next door? Can't you go back to your place?" I stand up from the fridge, taking a bite of chicken. "You can talk to Thane about your role here after he's through with me. I will stay here as long as you are staying here and if I go back to my place, you are going with me. Now, excuse me fireball, I have to go." I turn to head to her doors. "What do you mean, through with you?" She asks and I turn back. "What?" "You said when Thane is THROUGH with you...what does that mean? What happened?" I face a dilema now. Do I tell her the truth and risk her wrath, or do I lie and when she finds out, it won't be in person and then I can cower in the corner somewhere until she's over it? Decisions.

"When we got back this morning, I didn't come here first. I went somewhere, did something pretty big and now I have to find out how much shit I am in." "Is it bad?" she asks, and do I dare say, I think I see a little bit of fear behind those beautiful eyes. "Yeah, pretty bad. I blew up a building." well there it is. Cat's out of the bag. "You blew up a building? Why?" she looks at me with her brows furrowed, confused but doesn't appear angry. Interesting. "I blew up a building because my mate said she would rather have her heat there than with me." There. Now the cat has left the bag and reared it's ugly head front and center.

"You...wait...you blew up the heat clinic?" she stammers out, gasps with her mouth wide open at the realization what I did. "I blew it up. Kaboom. It's gone. Now you can't use it. You are mine. Nobody else's." Her blue green eyes glisten in the sunlight this morning. She stares at me, quiet for a while. I stare at her, waiting for something....anything.

"You...blew up the heat clinic for me?" she asks softly, her expression one of confusion and shock. "Yes. I blew up the heat clinic for us. Not you. Not me. Us." I use my fingers to motion between us. "That....That's the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me before." she says quietly with a little husk to her voice. I scent her arousal in the air. I could be mistaken, but I think I got a naughty she-wolf as a mate.

"You like it when I play with explosives fireball?" I ask as I take a step toward her, and she takes a step backward. "I used enough C4 to make a crater in the world." I take another step toward her, and she takes another step back, swallowing hard. "I stole a car and blew up a building. All for you fireball." "Wow. You were quite busy then." she whispers as I take another step toward her. "I was." I whisper as I take another step forward, this time she is unable to go anywhere because she is up against the island. I reach toward her and place my hand on her elbow, pulling her toward me a little. "Please let me kiss you fireball. Just in case."
