*"And tell her that when I get back, I want her to put that big juicy ass on my...."*

*"Cyrus whatever your middle name is, whatever your last name is......you better stop before I choke on my food and then you have to deal with Thane."*

*"He's a moody son of a blessed mother, when you aren't around."*

*"We are going to get Raven a phone."*

*"You better give me those digits."*

*"What do I get if I do?"*

*"I will tell Thane to give you whatever you want."*

*"He already does."*

*"Well, then I will tell him to stop giving you what you want."*

*"He won't."*

*"Well then, if you don't, I will hang your short ass upside down until you do."*

*"You can't, I am pregnant."*

*"Yes, I know. That is another reason Thane's extremely moody. Pinky swear I get her number or so help me, terrible things will happen."*

*"You don't scare me."*

*"Good. Now I want those numbers."*

*"Yeah, yeah, yeah, I will give them to you."*

*"Thank you boo thang. Oh shit, I think I said that out loud."*

*"Cyrus? "Hello?"*

I shrug my shoulders as we continue to eat our meal. "So, Raven, what’s your story? Alpha said there was a new rescue...is that you?" Monica asks nervously.

"I am not a rescue, nor am I a victim. However, your pack members freed me from captivity, and I am grateful. I am a trained fighter, so they couldn't treat me quite like the others. I got my ass handed to me, but I also fought like hell too."

"How did you end up taken? Did they come to your pack and take you?" Raven is quiet for a while before downing her tequila. I am not an expert, but I don't know if she should be mixing all of what she is mixing.

"I had a friend. We were best friends growing up. We had our group of friends, but we just got along well together. That turned to me having feelings for him that I thought he had for me as well. Our mate bond snapped into place late and without no explanation, and he decided he didn't want some "unstable" fellow fighter. A fighter isn't Luna material. He took a chosen mate and sold me, or his father sold me. I am not really sure, I was drugged. I can't help but wonder if the mate bond would have snapped into place when we were young or even as younger adults if he would have accepted me, before I trained and became this."

"Wow. That is...a lot." Monica whispers and I nod my head in agreement. She is heartbroken because she loved this Alpha, and they were probably each other's first "everything" and she is trying to sort that pain out while a new bond flares to life with the opposite feelings. Top that off with her running through all the possible questions and possible other outcomes that didn't happen, and you get a recipe for Raven Day drinking I supposed. Guess I don't blame her.

"Wow...wait you are a Luna! I am friends with two of them now!"

"We aren't friends, and I am not a Luna. Rejected mate, remember." Monica frowns.

"She means that you two aren't friends yet....you will be friends by tomorrow. We became friends overnight." I smile and gesture between us as Raven rolls her eyes and Monica nods in agreement.

"Do you have a murderous bitch story?" Raven turns and asks Monica.

"Well...no. I haven't killed anyone. Oh, but this one time, Luke came into the mess hall to get his burger and was being a real jerk, so I threw the patty down on the ground and rubbed it on the dirty floor before making his burger." she shrugs and I laugh, nearly choking on my water.

"Not close enough. Try again. You have more time today to win me over."

"Oh yes...okay...I will try." Monica seems pleased with her new goal.

We leave the restaurant and head to the phone store. I get a tug on the bond which is Thane's frequent ritual to let me know he is well and still busy. I hope he can make it home tonight. It feels like a lifetime, and I also have some.... needs. "What about this one?" Monica holds up a phone to Raven and she shrugs as she finishes her bottle and leaves it on the counter.

"Did you bring that in here?" I ask in shock. I have little to no store experience, but I am pretty sure day drinking in them is frowned upon.

"Yep. I don't care about the phone. I will not use it anyway.”

"Don't say that. You can talk to me on it, and you know, other people."

"Yeah, like me." Monica interjects.

"I'm still undecided on keeping you." Raven responds, sighing loudly.

"Oh well, I once flushed my brother's fish down the toilet when I was mad at him, and it was still alive."

"Closer, but I am going to need adult she-wolf crazy, not pup crazy."

"Oh right. Ummm...I have a tattoo."

"Of what? Where?"

"A flower, on my ankle."

"Next." Raven blows out a sigh as we mess around with the phone in her hand trying to figure it all out.

"Okay. Well, I don't think I have a next. I am nice and helpful. I don't have beef of any kind that I am aware of, and I keep to myself. I read a lot."

"What do you read?" Raven asks and Monica's cheeks get bright red.

"Alright, you're in."

"Yes!" Monica exclaims and high fives me as we head to the counter to pay for this phone.

Turns out, stores just give you things when you are the Luna of a pack. No matter how many times I tried to charge the phone, they wouldn't let me. Raven thinks shopping isn't so bad now. I didn't really think about her feeling embarrassed or ashamed to have someone buy her something. Technically, she could feel like she has nothing and allow that to beat her down badly. I want to prevent that from happening, but in a way, she doesn't get mad about it.

She is a tough cookie to crack.

"So, I will send you a message..."

"Me too." Monica explains, getting into the driver side of Thane's car.

"We will send you a message, you send us one back, then we have each other's numbers." "I know how the phone works." Raven says with a smile on her face. Alcohol induced, but I will take it.

"Right." We send our messages and then I mind-link Cyrus her number. I should have waited until I was home alone to do that. Within seconds, Raven's phone jingles and she looks down at it before looking up at me.

"Just for that, you have to sit in the back. Get in." I smile and get into the back, leaving out the part where I was going to sit back there anyway since I am the smallest and it is more practical.
