I find myself wrestling with guilt as I inhale the breakfast Thane made this morning. What is there to feel guilty about? I am secretly happy Cyrus burnt down the heat clinic. Should I be? No. Someone could have gotten hurt, I am sure it wasn't a little fire, and it isn't a good way to handle your emotions, but damn I hated that place. The entire tour gave me the creeps, and I know there could be something better. Now we have the opportunity to explore that, but if a heat comes up in the meantime or I can't figure out a new plan in time, that could be very detrimental to the shifters utilizing the clinic and I don't want that.

"Thane, can I talk to you about something?" "Yeah, what is it? Does little wolf #2 need more cake?" "No. Also, I don't know if I should be eating so much cake. You won't let me shift pregnant. If I can't run it off, all this cake is going to make me fat!" I find myself pouting, but it is from the thought of not having cake vs gaining weight. Why would I do that to myself? Thane arches an eyebrow, humor flickering behind those deep green orbs. "Yeah, nevermind. Bring on the cake, but that isn't what I want to talk about." Thane slides another piece of cake toward me, and I dig in. Yeah, I am never giving this up.

"What is it? What is gnawing at little wolf in such a way she is anxious about it?" "You know me so well." I smile, causing him to do the same. He brings his fingers up to his chest and taps a couple of times. "Ayla detector." "Good point. Well, I want to talk about my trip to the heat clinic." "Yes, I was wondering when this would come up. When Cyrus said you were there, I...I just felt scared for you, I guess. Proud. I am really proud you went. Just scared I guess, of what it would do to your progress. Why did you go?" "I went because I am feeling led to be more involved in the pack. The luna role specifically. I went to your office to find a book Raven suggested would be there, letting me know what the past Luna's were responsible for. Raven knows a lot about the Luna roll honestly; she grew up around one she said. Anyway, we found the book and the heat clinic was listed in there. It took a lot to get myself in there."

"How did you guys get into the office anyway?" "Well..." I clear my voice, "Raven picked the lock with a few hair pins." "Of course she did. How well does she drive?" "Oh...well, that she is really, really, good at. Great driver." "How fast Ayla?" "I didn't look past a certain point...so you know..I don't know specifically the exact number." Thane smiles and takes a drink of his coffee. I am glad he is finding my circling amusing. I have two friends. I don't want to lose one.

"Keep your secrets little wolf. I ask for two reasons." He holds up his finger, 1. Because it is a fast car and I have a feeling she knows that. 2. I don't want my family jeopardized in any way and 3. I am thinking about asking her to be your personal guard." "A guard? Do I need one?" "We have enemies little wolf. The seriousness of his tone is frightening, but he is right. "I want to see what she can do before I decide. Continue on with the heat clinic thing. I blush and look away because I am thinking of things Thane is good at that do not entail anything pack related. His answering groan tells me that he feels what I am feeling in the bond. I take another bite of cake while he flashes me those panty dropping dimples and adjusts himself. "Little wolf, I think once this morning is enough. If we go again, I am going to be late dealing with dumbass." "I like dumbass a lot. He made me feel like nothing was wrong with me when I got here. Just easy to talk to ya know? "I know nothing about comfort. Really, I have omega instincts and love comfort but could use some direction in that department. A communal nest sounds like a nightmare. Cleaning in between I mean." "Well, maybe someone in your inner circle needs to be some form of decorator and someone needs to have knowledge of cleaning on a mass scale. They have people they use for that now.
