Omega Bound Chapter 256

Thane

The air is thick with rage as we storm back into the pack house. My wolf thrashes beneath my skin, claws raking, demanding blood for what’s been taken from us. From me. Cyrus is at my side, jaw tight, eyes burning with the same murderous intent I feel in my chest. No one says a word. Every step carries the same vow: we will tear the earth apart to find Ayla.

We start pulling on tactical gear with practiced movements. Black fatigues, body armor, holsters snapping into place. The sound of weapons being racked, knives sheathed, and boots laced fills the armory. I run my hands along the cold steel of rifles, shotguns, and blades while Cyrus clears out the racks of ammunition, stacking magazines, grenades, and smoke charges in duffels. We’re preparing for a war.

“Every brick, every detonator, every pound,” Cyrus mutters, more to himself than anyone, but his voice carries, low and dangerous. He pauses, head tilting back, and I catch the glint of a feral smile. “We’ll find her, Thane,” he growls, shoving the last bundle of blasting caps into the pile. “And when we do, the world’s gonna learn what it means to steal our Luna.”

“I’ve got Clarke’s pack already out. If there is a chopper in the air up there, they will find it. They are bringing cold gear in case we need it,” I growl as we storm the stairs with our duffels full of weapons. “I want the pack fortified. I can’t rule out that this isn’t one giant distraction to take the pack once we leave. I’m leaving Theo and a border patrol unit. We need pack members to arm themselves. I’m going to mind-link to open the underground armory. I say as I push through the pack house doors.

“Shit, are you serious...” Cyrus says on my heels.

“Yes, arm every member. If their finger can bend, they can shoot. We leave someone from Tyler’s team behind to watch security and water supply. The rest comes with us.” I throw the bags into the SUV and jump in, sending my pack wide mind-links and calling codes so everybody knows what to do.

“Get in,” I yell to Cyrus as we and the forty other SUVs full of my guards pull out. “We go to Stevens, and if he doesn’t tell us where to find her, then we burn his entire pack down after killing him and everybody else that stands in my way,” I growl.

“Damn it.” Cyrus curses under his breath, scrolling through his phone. “It’s from the clinic security.”

“What?“ Every mile feels like a leash yanking tighter around my throat, my wolf clawing to break free, to hunt, to kill. Rage burns so hot in my veins I can taste blood, and it takes everything in me not to lose control and rip this SUV off the road.

“The clinic staff refused to cooperate with Raven; she critically injured two, killed one and then bolted.” Cyrus sounds slightly panicked as he attempts to mind-link with Raven. Their uncooperativeness could signal that there are multiple traitors in our pack. Being gone will give them the perfect opportunity.

I don’t care.....I need to find my mate.

“They should have cooperated then. Let security know where I stand on this matter. In my eyes, their blood is on the traitor’s hands tonight. Where is Raven?” Later, I will have more empathy, but right now, I can’t bring myself to care about anything other than Ayla.

“She’s not answering the mind-link. I’ve got to track her ass......there, she’s moving North, shit, she’s in something fast, she has a good headstart..... a few hours if we don’t drive faster..... Damn, where is she going? You think somebody took her?” Cyrus growls, watching a blue dot on the phone as it moves.

“We follow her. If she is taken, we get her back. If she is leading us to Ayla, we are in the right direction.” I grit my teeth, forcing the wheel steady. She'd *better be leading us to Ayla.* My wolf claws at me, desperate to believe it.

“She will need fuel to go that far. If she is following Ayla, she will get there before us.” I start formulating a plan in my head for potential camping and nourishment in the cold Northern region. My guards can fight three days straight without food, water, or rest, but it is not ideal. Our wolves were bred for endurance, built for war. She might get there first, but we’ll arrive ready to tear the earth apart.

“She’s smart. She will plan.” I reassure Cyrus that his mate isn’t on a suicide mission; he fears she may be on.

“She’s murderous; she will try to take on the whole force.” Cyrus stares at the screen, clenching and unclenching his fist, shaking in anger......for his mate.

“That’s why I trust her. Raven won’t stop. She’ll carve a path through them until there’s nothing left standing between us and Ayla. If anyone can spill enough blood to mark the way, it’s her. Don’t forget, she’s gifted. You saw her fight...” The SUV fishtails, tires skidding over loose gravel, and my stomach lurches as I wrestle the wheel back under control.

“Need me to drive your highness?” Cyrus taunts. It’s been a while since he reminded me of the title I hide from.

“Kiss my ass.” I retort. These little barbs keep our heads from splitting open under the rage. The banter’s fast, and necessary.

“Don’t talk about Raven fighting, or I am gonna need to bang one out.” Cyrus groans, grabbing himself.

“Keep it in your pants.” I snap, half disgusted. Cyrus just grins like it’s the most natural thing in the world, talking about getting off, imagining Raven cutting down anyone who stands in our way.

My thing is Little Wolf in her nest.....her heat.....fates it was glorious.....feeding her pizza....I haven’t looked at pizza the same since.

“You know you said that out loud, right?” Cyrus asks, pulling me out of my Little Wolf daydream, my little slice of heaven in this chaos.

“Pretend you didn’t hear it.” I snarl. Cyrus stares at his phone, Raven’s tracker lighting up the screen like a pulse in the dark. The dot races across the map, weaving through the terrain, then suddenly, it stops.

“She’s stopped here....right on an airfield,” I lean closer to Cyrus’s phone, eyes narrowing at the frozen dot.

“Maybe she’s at the airfield because she’s following the chopper*,”* I mutter, jaw tight. My gut twists with both hope and frustration. Raven tailing the chopper is exactly what we need—every move they make, every turn, she’s marking it for us.

I can’t stop the laugh that rumbles out of me, half disbelief, half pure relief. “I still can’t believe you actually did it,” I shout over the engine, shaking my head. “You were crazy enough to shoot a tracker into Raven’s ass during her heat, and it worked.” Cyrus just grins, that wild spark in his eyes, and I feel the brotherly bond that runs deeper than blood. “I appreciate your crazy,” I add, smacking his shoulder, hard. “Fates help me, I do. Because without your insane ideas, we’d be flying blind. You’re reckless, stubborn… and perfect for this pack.”

“I’m glad I can track my mate’s ass.” His eyes glint with chaotic pride only he could pull off. “She’s alive, she’s moving, and I’m right on her tail… literally. That’s some messed-up, perfect peace of mind right there.”

The silence between us causes my mind to wander to all the ways I am planning to avenge my mate. Whoever took Ayla will wish they’d never been born. “I’ll tear them open, watch their blood spill like rivers while their screams echo in my ears. I’ll break every bone, shred every tendon, and leave them gasping, clawing at the dirt for mercy that won’t come. I’ll carve my rage into their flesh, burn their life from the inside out, and make sure they feel every second of agony before I finish them. They stole my mate, and I will drown them in their own blood before I’m done.”

“We’ll tear them open.....I’m right here, brother.” Cyrus has his arm on the console and leans his fist toward me. I bump it with my own as we navigate through the night, looking for our stolen light.
