Omega Bound Chapter 57
Ayla
"We have a lot to talk about little wolf." The dreaded sentence passing the lips of the most gorgeous alpha I have ever seen, still sitting between my legs, rubbing my thighs as I come down from my post orgasm high, his hair messed up and sticking up all over while my arousal coats his beard scruff.
The things Thane can do with his tongue and the new things he has shown me that I like can't be put into words. I sit up on the side of the bed while Thane puts my pants back on and pulls them up to my knees, staring at my core like he isn't ready to put it away yet. I am not so sure I want him to, but it is probably best. Plus, I think I can use some more groveling before all is forgiven. Our bond is content currently. The ache relieved for the moment.
"I don't know if I am ready to talk." I whisper as I stand and pull my pants up the rest of the way. I go to walk past Thane into the bathroom, but he gently grabs my elbow and tugs me back to the bed.
"No Little Wolf. No running."
"I am not running, Thane."
"Okay Ayla. No avoiding. I want to talk to you about your beautiful wolf. You know I can't just ignore that she is a white wolf. Do you know the history of them?"
"Yes, I know. We were created and blessed by the fates. Gifts placed in us to help shifters and to rule over them. Keeping the peace or doing what is necessary to make it."
"History states that the white wolves are extinct, but clearly you are not."
"No, there hadn't been one born for over fifty years or more. When they were being hunted and stolen for their gifts, the pack went into hiding. It was a rather large pack. The last white wolf had been a grandfather of mine. A king grandfather. My family ruled the hidden kingdom until they were murdered. The whole kingdom burned down. I don't know what happened to everyone."
"Well, if history is correct all blessed wolves are royalty, the titles given to them by the fates with their blessings. That would make you a princess Little Wolf."
"I know what it makes me. I was raised in a castle. It is also the reason why I was kidnapped. I shifted. Someone had to have seen it, and I was taken."
"I agree with your theory Little Wolf. I could say that you would have been taken anyway, but the fact you weren't killed like my....The fact that you were kept so long confirms that your theory is probably right."
Thane's change in his sentence tugs at my heart strings. I know he is thinking about his sister, my only friend at the time and it hurts.
"I will keep your secret. We can't have anyone knowing about you. Not until this ring is brought down. I think your pack is the key to finding out who is behind this ring. They are either from your pack or they were around it when you shifted, which would make them close to your pack or family since the kingdom was hidden by your accounts." I nodded my head in agreement.
The discussion has me welling with emotion. Tears threaten to fall from my eyes. "Hey, look at me Ayla." I jerk my head to the side to where he is sitting next to me on the bed, but I don't look him in the eyes. I don't want him to see the pain hiding behind them. He tucks my chin between his fingers and lifts it so I have to look him in the beautiful green eyes.
"I will protect you little wolf. Nothing will happen to you. We will find out what happened and who betrayed you. They will pay." He releases my chin, and my lips start to quiver.
"I never grieved my family. I wasn't given a chance to. I spent most of the early years of my abduction fighting for my life. Then I shut my emotions off. Now, they are all trying to flood back in at a rapid pace. It hurts so much. Too much. I don't want to feel this pain. This grief. It is trying to swallow me whole. I feel like I am drowning in a pool that I can't get out of."
I explain to him while clutching my chest, feeling the pain manifesting its ugly head. "That is an excellent description of how I have felt over these last six years. Nobody understands that pain better than me little wolf. I also know what it is like to shut it off. It would be better for you to feel it and work through it. It is healthier and I am here for you now. You won't feel it alone."
"I don't want to feel it at all." I told him as one single tear managed to find its way down my cheek. I quickly wipe it away, refusing to allow these emotions to come through.
"Well since we are sharing royal heritage, I must tell you of mine. I have a genetic component that in my blood, passed down from the fates that makes me the rightful alpha of alphas. I can make all submit and I can alpha bark any shifter. Well, any but you, I think. I am supposed to be leading now, but I refused to take the title. Finding the ringleader was more important to me. That and getting my father's pack, this pack back together and the rebels that rose up in power while he was grieving and hurting out of the power they attempted to have. I couldn't let my father's legacy go under corrupt rule while I was off somewhere on a throne, attempting to rule from afar. It makes sense that you are my fated mate. We were both destined to be rulers."
There is an awkward silence that stretches between us. Neither of us know what to say or how to bring up the bigger elephant in the room, our mate bond.
"Have you found Kian yet? I heard you telling Cyrus to find him."
"No, we haven't but I think we are close. He was dumb enough to call his bar the other night, so we have it traced to outside of pack lands. We are just waiting for him to return. We will get our answers from him, why he lied about your mate bond, and I will enjoy hurting him for hurting you."
"He came to take me out on a date.." Thane growls loudly from his chest and I instinctively place my hand over his, calming him. "He came in here and smelled you. He hit me and knocked me down to the ground."
"I will take his head off for you my mate and bring it to you as a gift." Thane growls and I can tell Ronan is surging beneath the surface.
"Or not. I mean the gift part anyway." I have no desire to have his head as a gift.
"I think your white wolf has more bloodlust than you Ayla."
"Oh yes, I would agree. At least for now." That earns me a laugh and his dimpled smile I love so much. I am having a hard time staying mad at him when I see that.
"Anyway, he said that he was going to get a hefty paycheck for keeping me away from you. Apparently, you were the intended target or assignment, not me. He was only angry that I was with you because I wasn't supposed to be. He said he was going to take me away from you so I couldn't interfere with his money."
"Well, that wasn't a plot twist I saw coming, but I will brainstorm it over with my beta. I think we may be able to come up with a few ideas since only a few people know of us together." he clears his throat, and my cheeks begin to blush.
I take a few drinks of water, still trying to get used to using my voice. I don't know if I have the courage to talk in front of others yet, but it feels good to be talking to Thane. "I think I have talked enough today, Thane. I don't want to be rude, but my thoughts are a whirlwind at the moment that is only worsening."
"Okay. We can quit, for now. How about we go down to the mess hall and get some supper?"
