Chapter 129: I Gave You Time To Calm Down

Brianna

“If you spill you will ruin everything like I have been working on. Go.” I shooed her off.

“What are you even doing?” She asked, but was removing the glass from the table as I had asked her to.

“Working on some designs.” I replied.

“I love this Versace one.” She pointed to one of my sketches that I haven't quite worked through yet, it is missing something. I looked at her to say thank you and paused. A scarf z that sketch design is missing a scarf.

“Thank you, Joy. You just gave me an idea.” I grinned at her.

“Oh, what?” I piqued her interest, I showed her the design she just told me she liked and explained my feeling on the outfit being incomplete.

Recently, things like berets have come back into trend and I have used that a lot within my own wardrobe but scarves around the head are also coming back. Spring isn't so warm that you can't layer. I was incorporating different add ons to complete the look.

“You hear that, Jane? I am her new muse.” She twirled and showed off her scarfed head and I chuckled and shook my own head at her.

“Hey, no you aren't. I am her muse clearly. I am around the house lounging in style and beauty. It is an inspiration.” I could see the wine talking here. They seem a bit tipsy and giggly. For the hell of it, I will make a sketch of the woman blonde. The three of them cheered.

Speaking of sketches, Sandra reached out to me the other day when I posted some of my old work as a throwback. She asked if I could ever make her a cool design, just something to hang in the shop, not something to actually wear. It sounded fun so I said yes, I mailed it out the other day and I guess she received it because I was getting a facetime from her. I didn't completely lose touch with the tattoo shop and the crew but I have been so busy and not exactly in the country so I haven't talked to them much outside of a few texts here and there.

It is totally my fault that I have neglected them. I answered the call and was happy to see Kate, Ethan and Zevrie all on the screen with her. In unison they all greeted me.

“Hello, Miss London girl.”  They clearly planned that, it made me laugh.

“Guys, it has been so long. How are all of you doing? How is the shop running? Tell me the gossip.” I said in succession, they laughed and people started talking over one another. So Kate shouted and they shut up.

“Who is that?” Joy was curious and stuck her head in upside down.

“Oh, hello.” She clearly found one of them cute. Which one, who knows, maybe she is bisexual. So it could be any of them.

“Oh my goodness, I love your accent.” Sandra said when she spoke and I shoved her face out of the scream and stood, so I could get into my room where it is quieter.

“No wait, we want to see your friends and the apartment.” They muttered, so I stayed, showing them Jane, Joy and the other girl.

They said hello and after I showed them the house and the verand, I went ubri my room to speak with them.

“Brianna, I just wanted to call and thank you. That sketch was so dope, look, we have it hanging here in the shop. A little homage to the fashionista girl who worked here once. Just in case you get famous.” She teased me and I laughed.

“You can sell it on ebay if I do get famous.” I teased her back.

“A Brianna original? No way, I wouldn't sell it. I would brag.” She gave me the duh voice. Zevrie cut in and grabbed the phone.

“Hey,” he smiled

He and I had a bit of an awkward moment with Callan fist fighting him on my behalf but that was in the past.

“Hi,” I smiled back.

“How is London, though, really?” He asked.

“I have kept up with your fashion page, I see the impressive things you are a part of.” He added and I appreciate it.

“I am sorry I didn't even tell you guys I was in London a few weeks ago. I honestly barely even saw Bryce never mind anyone else.”  I explained in case they had been offended that I didn't reach out.

I ended up chatting with the shop crew for a little while but then Jane kept hollering for me to come eat, so we hung up. It was a nice little flashback from home, one that isn't connected to Callan.

I made plans with Amos to go to a photoshoot exhibit down at the city today and he had been excited about it but had no one to go with, so I told him I would definitely go with him. It has some famous photographer who I am unfamiliar with but he knew all about her. I decided on matching my outfit with the rent-a-bag I had this week. Yes, they are international and I love this damn app. The bag was a soft green Bottega veneta cassette handled bag and I paired it off with a deeper green puff sleeve top and some off white wide length waist trousers. I figured we would do a lot of walking through the exhibit, so I used my low heel sling back shoes.

Since it was sunny out, I also borrowed Jane's cat eye glasses in the perfect shade of green. She is so good about sharing clothes, she will see me in an outfit and be like ‘oh wait, I have the perfect thing to match this.’ Then she came back with something great, I guess I also do the same for her. I never had a sister, so it is fun to do this with another girl. I asked Jane if she wanted to join us and see the exhibit but she told me right to my face that it sounded like the most boring thing. I laughed and shrugged, leaving the house to meet Amos. He is going to drive us over there.

It ended up being a fun time Amos explained a little bit about the woman and why she was such an influence through the photography industry. He showed me a lot of beautiful and thought provoking photographs. I don't know too much about pictures aside from when Rose was in fashion school with me and took pictures of me for practice. She had shown me how to take pictures for my fashion page too. Simple things though, I am no artist. I had asked Amos to show me his portfolio some time, an image he hasn't taken for work but for himself in his personal time. He seem more than willing to show me, he is proud of his work and I want that level of confident but I haven't gotten there yet.

Amos dropped me home after that, digging into my bag, I grabbed the house key and walked up the flight of stairs that lead to my door. I jiggled the lock the way you kind of have to so it doesn't stick and when I entered the apartment, I didn't call out for Jane because I knew she was going to be with her male friend that she has been having a fling with. I just walked in, holding the mail and reading the envelope that was in my hands. We don't get many mails since we haven't forward this place as an address but sometimes they stick things in the door and I was trying to translate it into my mind. It is good practice.

I screamed when I was suddenly pinned against the wall before my eye had time to come up from the flier I had been lowering my head to read.

“Callan?” I gasped at the sight of him.

I left him in his penthouse after an intense round of sex and we haven't spoken since then. That was over a month ago at this point, so I was perplexed to see him here and to see him towering me in my own apartment. His strong arms caged me in and since he was in a t-shirt, all black from head to toe, his tattoos were visible to me. Those are black too, the only color that wasn't black were his eyes, his pink lips and that olive fresh. Everything else was dark.

“How the hell did you get in here?” I asked, Jane would have warned me if she knew he was here. I know she would and that means she doesn't know either.

“I am a military trained special force soldier and a criminal. How the fuck do you think? Yes, I broke in.” He deadpanned.

“Wha…” I didn't get to finish what I wanted to say.

“I gave you time to calm down, now you are going to answer me. Why did you run away from me?” He asked, I hadn't heard his gruff voice in weeks. His smooth smoky scent, like fine whiskey after it burns. It wafted around me like his thick arms did, hks head, he was sure to deep low. Low enough to talk right in my face.

“You know why.” I tried to hide my voice. It was affected by his unannounced presence and I was shaken.

“Bullshit, you did let me fuck you and then sneak out on me once I was asleep. That is not how this end, Brianna”
