Chapter 43: Please Don't Kill Me

I was cleaning the private room after the double session finished up, the shop was clearing out and I heard Josephine holler that she was heading home and so was Ethan. I hollered back goodbye while finishing up so I could sweep the main floor up front.

“Need help with that?” Zaveri came up behind me.

“The big boss sweeping? No way.” I teased him, he chuckled but handed me a broom and took one too. I cleaned from front to the middle and he cleaned from back to the middle so we would meet there..

“Tomorrow seems like a bit of a lull day. What's up with that?” I asked.

“It happens sometimes,” he shrugged.

“If it was dead in here, most of us probably won't be in so I will keep you too stye on whether I need you or not. It won't make sense in making you stand around an empty shop.” He said, that great, I won't mind a random day off.

When we were done cleaning up, he started shutting all the lights off as we walked out together. He checked his watch real quick and cringed.

“It is later than I thought.” He muttered.

“You need to be somewhere?” I asked and he ran his fingers through his long strands.

“I actually do or I would have offered you a ride.” He looked apologetic.

I heard a door open and close which made me glance back and noticed David was here.

“No need, I have a ride.” I thumbed behind me.

“Awesome, I will let you know about tomorrow.” He said as he pulled me in for a friendly hug. He does that all the time.

For some reason with David watching, it made me almost nervous that he would mention this to Callan. Not that he can tell me what to do but I remember the day Zaveri and I went out to lunch. He was mad and he told me I couldn't see him again, I am sure he had his own opinions on how Zaveri hugs me but why would David even tell him? It is silly. Once I let go of Zaveri, I got into the back seat of the car.

“I didn't know you would be here.” I leaned up slightly to look at him. He glanced at me while pulling at his seatbelt to click it in.

“Surprise?” He said sarcastically and it made me chuckle and slide my seat belt.

Before David could drive off, I was confused when the back door opened again of its own accord. My head swiveled in its direction and I was shocked to see Ezekiel there with a bruised face from where Callan had smashed it against a wall.

“Hey, wrong car.” David said, not seeing the man yet.

“Shut up and drive.” Ezekiel said and it made David snap his head back. He freezed with his hands on the wheel when he saw Ezekiel's face. Almost like he knew him.

“Keep your hands where I can see it and drive.” He ordered, this time shoving something into my side. When I gasped, David tried turning around. Ezekiel made it known that it was a gun he had.

“Since you people love gunplay so much, I went and grabbed my own.” He said, I immediately began to tremble.

“Don't do this, Ezekiel.” I begged.

“Drive,” he ordered David, ignoring me.

Feeling that cold metal against my ribs had me sucking in air to calm my nerves and the tears that were forming. I have never been held at gunpoint before and I am afraid.

“Alright, where do you want to drive to? Just calm down.” David tried to take hold of the situation.

Ezekiel rattled off some names and David began to move the car. How is this happening? I knew Ezekiel had a gun years ago when I was with him in the back room of the strip club counting all his money outside the safe. I never thought he would use one against me though, Callan pissed him off and embarrassed him and now he is going to take it out on me.

“Please don't kill me.” I sniffed, he looked down at me and pulled my hair out of my face.

“Oh baby, I don't want to do that. I want you to come back with me, how many times have I already told you that?” He pulled my hair again and made me shiver in disgust.

“Then put the gun away, please.” I muttered.

“No chance in that, as a matter of fact…” he suddenly leaned forward and thrusted his hand into David's jacket.

“I know you would be packing.” He shook his head, anticipating David pulling a gun on him.

I had no idea David carries a weapon either, does every damn person around me carry a gun? Ezekiel unloaded the weapon and broke it apart, dropping the piece all over the back floor by our feet.

“Mr. Ezekiel, there is no need to hold a gun to Brianna. I am doing as you ask.” He said calmly and clearly.

“Then shut the fúck up and do it.” He growled.

Ezekiel was wearing a t-shirt and the snake tattoo coiled up his arm. I stared down at it while his arms were bent to hold the gun against me.

“If I tell you I will come with you, will you put the gun away and leave David out of this?” I asked, I didn't want him to get hurt.

David had nothing to do with this and I wouldn't put it past Ezekiel to hurt him. He is violent when he wants to be, he has got a reputation back home.

“Maybe, all in due time, baby.” He said and those words made me grit my teeth.

“Taking fourth avenue at this may not be a good deal.” David said to end the conversation.

“I have got time,” he smirked.

He used his free hand to pull my hair from my face and run it down my arm. I was too afraid to pull away, I didn't want to die and I didn't want to get shot either. I can't even imagine the pain and then I would leave my brother with no family. I can't do this to him, he was pulling me onto his lap and I had no choice but to do it. Sitting across his lap, he used his free hand to run it up and down my thigh while he never let go of the gun, still pressed against me. I always knew he was crazy but he has outdone himself this time.

Callan shouldn't have angered him, Ezekiel doesn't like to be embarrassed and put in his place. He is basically a narcissist like my father, he doesn't handle rejection well and he will get crazier the more things don't go his way.
