Off Limits, Brother's Best Friend Chapter 202
Chapter 202: My Sister Isn't Your Fucking Business
Brianna
“Brianna got robbed of her bag from some scammers.” Bryce filled in the blank.
“Shit, are you alright?” Angelo asked and I turned my nose up at him.
“Don't talk to me, I am pissed are you.” I said outright in front of everyone and he furrowed.
“What the hell, why?” He dared to ask me.
“I know it is you who told these two about me and Roy. You promised me.” I scowled at him and he cringed at my words.
“You promised?” My brother arched his brow.
“Okay, I did tell Callan but I didn't tell Bryce, he did.” He thumbed back at his cousin whose eyes were burning a hole into the side of my head. He didn't say a word though.
“Oh, so you weren't planning on telling me?” Bryce called him out, Angelo huffed and slapped his hands at his sides.
“Sorry, Brianna but it is for your own good anyway. Roy is a troublemaker.” He told me and I scoffed in his face.
“And the three of you aren't? Roy has actually been nothing but nice and actually helpful. So keep your opinion to yourselves.” I turned my chin up again and motioned to stomp off but a hand caught me before I could.
“Callan?” I heard my brother use a warningful tone.
It was Callan's hand that grabbed me to stop me, Angelo gave him the eye. Callan turned his head down to me and for a single tense moment, he stared deeply into me in a way that made me swallow. With his hold on my arm, he pulled me against him and his head moved slightly downward. My heart beat out of my chest because I had no idea what he was about to do. The other two must have felt the same because both my brother and Angelo muttered.
“Callan?” Both said in warning once again.
Callan's expression turned from that blank intimidating expression to a disgusted one.
“His cheap fucking cologne is all over you.” He released me like he just accidentally touched garbage or something and his expression was both hard but disgusted in me.
And it formed this pit inside my gut, I wanted to cry but instead I got a back bone and defended myself. Making sure to look straight into his eyes, I gave him the same disgusted expression and replied.
“I am not the only one who smells like a cheap Vortex. As I said, keep your opinion to yourselves.”
And this time I got away before anyone could stop me. I am pretty sure Angelo snorted and tried hiding a laugh but I didn't stay long enough to really listen. The crazy adrenaline coursed through me as I crossed the lobby to the elevator. I don't often talk back because I have that apprehension inside me that me worried I will regret it when a hand smacks me across the face or someone gives me the cold shoulder until it breaks me. I am not the same Brianna I had been though, I keep saying it and it is becoming more and more true. They can't try to embarrass me or be disgusted in me for sleeping with Brianna when all three of them hook up with anything that moves. They can't criticize Roy's behavior when all three of them atr asshole when they want to be and definite troublemakers.
Just because I am a girl and a younger one at that doesn't mean I get to be shamed. When I heard the echo of clacking shoes while I called for the elevator, I glanced back and realized Callan was now power walking towards me with my brother close behind him.
“Callan, I swear to god.” I heard Bryce say.
“Brianna isn't your business.” His voice only slightly echoed because he was trying to keep his voice down.
The elevator pinged and Callan crowded me until I stepped backwards and got into it. Him and brother shoved through before the doors could close and Angelo was jogging over but missed the lift. I found myself with my back pinned against the elevator wall while Callan towered over me with this angry expression I am now familiar with. More than familiar with, Bryce was pulling at him and telling him to back off but Callan ripped his arm free and didn't budge from where he planted his feet.
“Brianna, my men are off limits. Do you understand me? You might find yourself untouchable but I can assure you Roy Vortex isn't and I will blow his fucking head off and make you watch.” He growled at me and my eyes widened at his words.
Bryce huffed and shoved at his best friend, the elevator pinged but none of us got out. I was completely cornered, with Callan towering over me, he looked like a silhouette where he eclipsed the light from behind him.
“He is your friend and an important member of the Vortex crime family.” I gaped at him.
“Do I look like I give a fuck? Stay away from him, Brianna and I am not fucking playing.” His voice was so gruff and dark with warning.
“Callan, this is for me to handle, not you.” Bryce said again and whirled around.
“You clearly aren't handling it if you are over there patting the back of that asshole for buying her a purse. I will fucking buy the purse, keep Vortex away from her or I will blow his head off in front of the both of you.” He snarled at my brother and a dark expression passed over Bryce's face.
A scary one I have only seen once when he completely lost his shit after finding out Callan and I hooked up. Bryce fisted his shirt and Callan grabbed his back, they were toe to toe.
“Stop it!” I shouted but they were fixated on each other.
“You don't tell me what to do when it comes to her. She is my fucking sister and she is nothing to you. Isn't that what you told me? She is nothing to you, so stay the fuck out of it.” Bryce barked back.
His words made me flinch back with hurt. He told Bryce what? When? My eyes dropped to my apartment as I shook my head. They weren't looking at me, they were in each other's faces. I could tell Callan gritted his teeth at his words, Callan suddenly laughed sardonically and the sound sent an actual chill down my spine. It sounded borderline evil.
“Fine, she is your family and Roy is my capo. I can do whatever the fuck I want to do to him.” He harshly reminded my brother. I had had enough, I shoved at Callan's back which made them both shift their heads over to me.
“I am sick of this, I am sick of you! You can't threaten every man that enters my life, it is not fair.” I shoved him again. My brother tried calling my name and grabbing me so I wouldn't set Callan off but I wasn't done yet. The elevator kept pinging and trying to move but we didn't press the button to let it. We finally stepped off and the doors shut, we were in our hall now.
“If you touch Roy Vortex, I swear to god, Callan. I will serve your head on a platter to the fucking Blank Knight myself. You don't own me.” My brother gritted the last part and I saw fire flicker in his eyes and his muscles turned even stiffer than they already had been.
“Oh, really?” Callan stepped forward and asked.
“No, Bryce. Let me handle this myself, I know he is your best friend but he is my problem to deal with. I am nothing to you, correct? You hate me and regret it anyway. So who do you think you are to tell me who I can or can't talk to?” I sucked in a long breath.
Bryce seemed conflicted on what to do but Callan was solely focused on me and he has never looked more angry than he does right now. For some reason, he doesn't like when I bring up the words being said to me, I noticed it last time too. It really bothers him. Well too bad, he said it and not me.
“Brianna?” His voice was like a rumble of thunder.
“No, you don't own me and I will say it again. I didn't let my father own me, I didn't let Ezekiel own me and I am most certainly not letting you, Callan fucking Harold own me!” I screamed louder than I even realized. I was shaking with anger and some other overwhelming emotions.
