Off Limits, Brother's Best Friend Chapter 185
Chapter 185: You Aren't Needed
Brianna
Don't you ever put your fucking hands on me again! You heard me?” Roy pulled this wall of a bouncer up to his face, nose to nose.
“Let's leave, please.” I said, not even sure if he could hear me.
“Don't you ever fucking touch me.” Roy kept saying, he was so mad that they grabbed him that way in front of everyone.
How they disrespect him, I could see the strain of his muscles and he is a power hitter, even against men as large as those ones. He is good at fighting, you can tell. Finally, my voice seemed to register to him and he glanced at me and back at the man who had blood now coming from his lips and nose. It wasn't like a faucet but I knew Roy did some damage. He released the man with force and started walking backwards away from the club. Untucking his shirt slightly, he grabbed something out of the waistband at the back of him and showed his gun which I didn't even realize was there. How the hell did he conceal that?
“Next time, it is your head and his.” He waved the barrel of the gun between the two.
Roy continued to walk backwards until he crossed the street and then he quickly turned his head to look at me.
“Are you okay?” He asked me like I had been the one fighting.
“Are you?” I asked and I could see the muscle in his jaw jump witn the question.
“I don't understand why the fuck they just did that but I am fine. I didn't mean to lose my temper in front of you, darling.” His large hand came down to my shoulder and gave it a light squeeze, rubbing it a little bit.
We began walking down to the blocks without really thinking about it. I kind of wanted to stay at the party, simply to make sure that my brother got home safely since he is drunk. I also couldn't just walk back in there after Roy got thrown out. If it was Callan, I don't even know what to think about it. Why would he do that to his own friend? Callan isn't one to send others to do his dirty works, so it had to have been something else. Mistaken identity or something, when I told Roy that he glanced back at the club in the distance.
“I know exactly who did it.” He said and the muscle in his jaw tensed again.
“Who?” I almost whispered, he put an arm around me and gave me a light squeeze.
“Don't worry about it, sweetheart, alright? I am sorry you followed me out, I know you probably want to stay.” He pushed his fingers through his dark hair and he had a fishable amount on his head.
“Jane left and you are the only other person I would have been with. So I don't care about the party, I only care that Bryce is taken care of.” I replied.
“I can text my friend and tell him to look out for him, okay?” His eyes came down to me and I nodded okay but was distracted by his knuckles.
“Doesn't that hurt?” I asked, he was texting the guy he mentioned but he let me take his hand to look more closely at the damage.
“No, I was just so damn pissed that they grabbed me up like that, it is settled.” His hand smoothed down my back.
Right now, Roy Vortex and I are on a random sidewalk, in the middle of the city, alone and with the adrenaline and chemistry of the night still between us. When our eyes met again, the air between us began to shift and he put his phone into his pocket and pulled me to him. His hands glided up the down my sides before they settled low on my hip to keep me pressed there against him. Since I am in high heels, my face is closer than it normally would be. When I tipped my head up, our noses could already touch with him looking down at me. He came and placed a kiss on my lips but didn't linger there, instead his lips feathered down to my jaw and pressed against my neck just below my ear. He had done that once before and I had responded to it so well, he clearly remembers that.
His tongue lightly brushed over my flesh between kisses in a teasing way that had me leaning further into him. My hands ran up his stomach and through his shirt I could see the firmness of it. With the liquor buzzing through me and the adrenaline of watching him knocking those two bouncers around, I was really feeling the heat in my stomach attached to this kiss. I wanted more, it has been a while and the last person I had been with was Andrew who just wanted to hook up. We skipped the foreplay, that is half the fun. Tonight, Roy has been flirting with me, giving me subtle touches, dancing with me and now kissing me in a hot way. The chemistry has been building up over time in a way that I liked. Am I willing to take things further this time around? I think I might be. Standing on this sidewalk, we started deepening this kiss and my hand went over his chest and around his neck. Our mouths moved in unison until my phone started to ring not once but twice. It buzzed again and with the sound of my text messages, I couldn't ignore it.
“It might be Bryce.” I said, trying to catch my breath when Roy let me pull away.
Sure enough, I could see my brother's contact on the screen. He kept an arm around me while I checked the message.
‘I am too drunk.’
'Take me home.’
'Did you leave.’
I quickly typed out a response, letting my brother know that I was still right outside. I am surprised he can even text this clearly while being so drunk. I told him to come down and I would meet him at the door. I was hoping he wasn't drunk to the point that he needed me to walk back in there and help him outside. I wanted to see how he responded to my last message. A minute later, he didn't say anything.
“Maybe I should go in,” I stepped away from Roy.
He looked like he might have been frustrated that our night was starting to heat up but abruptly changed. First, when we were kissing inside the club and he got thrown out by the bouncers and second, right now when Bryce told me he needed me. I saw him all over some girl, so I was surprised he wanted to leave.
“I would help you but I don't think they will let me back in. I didn't drive here either, so let me call a car and I will help you bring your brother into the apartment.” He offered kindly, I agreed and told him to wait outside.
On my way back inside, I stopped short when I realized Bryce was already on his way out. He wasn't alone though, he was being escorted by Callan. I took a calming breath and approached them.
“I got it from here.” I said to Callan, trying to take my brother's arm.
“He is going to drop the both of you on the ground.” He replied, trying to push through without letting go of him.
When he got to the sidewalk, Callan's eyes moved past me towards Roy who was right where I left him.
“Well, we have got from here.” I thumbed behind me and Callan's jaw clenched but he didn't say anything.
“Why are we leaving the club?” Bryce asked, I found that suspicious.
Wasn't he just asking me to come get him and bring him home? I looked more closely at Callan and wondered if what those guys said was true. Is Callan the one who told his bouncers to kick Roy out? Is he the one who texted me from my brother's phone? No, why would he even waste any time or energy doing any of that? Certainly not because of me, my brother is just drunk and dumb.
“I got a car, it will be here in a second.” Roy stepped forward and looked between the three of us.
“You aren't needed here,” Callan said outright and Roy furrowed his brow.
“I told Brianna that I would bring them home, seeing as I was mysteriously thrown out of your club. I think my night just ended, don't you have my cousin on your lap? You can head back inside.” Roy called him out in a way I never thought he would. I have yet to see a single person do that. Callan's face fell into hard lines and if looks could kill, he would have just struck Roy dead.
