Chapter 83: She Moved To London

Elizabeth knows that this internship is an important step as much as I do. Although I have been a great intern, I am always running around doing grunt work for her and making her life a lot easier. Even in heels, I have a good track record for getting things done in a timely manner. It was not all glamour and dreamy though, I have had plenty of really late nights, making sure things get done before a certain event or I don't get to eat a meal because I have too much to do. Living off just grabbing a fruit or a power bar or something, coffee is like a food group for us here. But it was worth it in my opinion.

Bryce and I talked for a little bit longer. I was in the middle of talking when I saw his eyes lift up to something else and I was busy saying things.

“And she thought she lost the jewelry case, so she was balling her eyes out, running frantically to find it and it turns out the client's dog was sitting on the damn thing.” He stopped me there.

“Hey, I have to get going.” he said, I heard a deep voice in the background and my stomach dropped.

Callan just walked in, I know that voice. I didn't hear what he said but I knew the pitch, it was him. I told my brother that I am happy and I really am but sometimes, my heart aches when a memory or image of him pops up unexpectedly. Bryce doesn't even really talk to me about Callan anymore, it was like he wants me to forget his existence but I haven't. I just knew it was over. Callan made that clear before I even left for London.

“Okay, love you.” I said to him even though he hates affection.

He is my only family and my parents never told us they loved us, unless my father was using it as a weapon against me like saying, no man would ever love you like I do and you are still choosing them over me or some crazy shit like that.

“You too,” he said and hung up.

I heard some rustling outside my room and then a short knock on the door.

“Come in.” I said to Jane, her head popped into the doorway and she grinned wide the way she always does.

“Good morning,” she pretended to tip her hat off to me, before jumping on my bed and crawling up next to me. She leaned into my arm and laid beside me for a second before asking.

“So what shall we do today?” I hummed in thought.

“Well, London is ours for the taking, baby.”

Callan POV.

I was already pissed off that the client cancelled the meeting last minute at the club. I don't like waiting around for people and I don't like being stood up. They swear it was an emergency but it doesn't help my mood any. Bryce disappeared from downstairs, so I went up to the office to find him and let him know he was free to leave. When I walked through the door, I saw he was holding the phone up and that voice hit me in an instant. His sister was giggling, telling some story and his eyes snapped up to mine and he quickly ended the call m. If that was because of me, there was no need. He has been really careful about bringing her up to me at all, he never talks about her, like he doesn't want to acknowledge her and myself in any capacity ever again.

Things were rocky between us after that huge blow out of him finding out that I fucked his sister. He has come around a little bit and I honestly think it was just because she isn't here. I know I told him I would stay away from her but I didn't expect her to just fucking move out of the country to nowhere. Not a word about it either, from either one of them. One day I was trying to avoid the girl and the next I had David telling me she isn't here anymore and that pissed me the fuck off. I remembered the day he told me, I had him up in the penthouse with me waiting on a call and I just decided at random to ask how the girl was doing. Bryce hadn't spoken of her and I hadn't been seeing her around the building at all. When I saw my goon get all fidgety, I knew it was something along the lines of.

“Brianna is gone.”

With no fucking explanation and that irked me. I tightened my jaw but managed to ask him.

“What the fuck does that mean?” My bulldog looking soldier stuttered over himself when he responded to me.

“She moved to London.”

The message didn't sink in right away, what the hell is he talking about? She isn't out of the country, I would know about that right? Wrong, he told me she moved there for that fucking internship I got her and he also told me my fucking sister was with her. I was bullshit, I threw my coffee machine across the kids and put a huge dent in the wall, while simultaneously smashing the thing into pieces. Elizabeth never mentioned that to me, I would remember if she said she was taking the girl with her overseas. She don't tell me about it and of course, Brianna jumped at the opportunity. My sister is an idiot and didn't even mention moving there but that was Jane for you. I never keep track of her. She got along with Brianna quickly, they were suddenly the best of friends out of nowhere. Before Bryce found out about our little flirty secret texts, and me fucking her, I figured it would be fine that the two girls were good friends. She would be around and it wouldn't look weird to Bryce that way. After promising to stay away from her, I wasn't so keen on the friendship anymore. Brianna is already mixed into my best friend's world, my business partner's world and now my family's world. She is fucking everywhere and she is also nowhere.

She isn't around the building anymore and when I pop into Bryce's place, she isn't walking around in ridiculously small pajamas or sending me texts she knows she shouldn't. To curb the urge to fuck her again, I had to stay busy and before I knew it, she left. I was staying busy with work and some new pussy every week and after I found out that she was gone, it chafed at me differently. I started fucking a different chick daily and getting my hands dirty at work. It is not because I want her here, it just annoyed me the way she went about it. I honestly thought she was a little upset that wouldn't be talking anymore, she was an emotional girl. When I had told her in the past that we needed to cut this shit, she was upset about it so I just assumed this time she would do the same. But she didn't.

She is having the time of her life in London, David shows me her social media posts every week and I know what she has been up to. Her and Jane are just having a blast and it irked me. When Bryce hung up the call with his sister, he just looked up at me without saying anything. What the fuck is he waiting for? Does he think I am going to react to her voice or something? At first, he blamed my constant shitty mood on her and our fight and I have been in a bad mood for a couple of weeks. It isn't about her, I am never fucking sunshine and rainbows, so I don't see the problem here.

“You can go now, no sense staying here unless you want to party. I am out of here.” I let him know and collected my things off the desk.

“I don't think I am going to stay, that chick from last week is here again. Will you have a ride?” He asked me, knowing we drove in together.

“David is downstairs, I am good.” I waved him off. He is going down there to get some pussy, I should probably do the same because when I don't, I get antsy.

David was waiting for me at the door and when we got into the car, I was thinking of telling him to just drop me off at some chick's house but he spoke before I could.

“Sir, I have been conflicted on whether or not I should inform you on something.” He began saying randomly. I already gritted my teeth, if he was saying it like that, it was because it is something that is going to piss me off.
