Off Limits, Brother's Best Friend Chapter 44
Chapter 44: You Are A Tough Guy
Brianna
Ezekiel can't fathom my leaving him just like my damn father had. They think they were god's gift to this earth and that we owe them something. I don't owe him shit.
When he planted a small kiss against my shoulder, I cringed and turned my head further away from him.
“Mr. Ezekiel, please let the girl off your lap.” David said when he said the pain expression on my face.
“Mind your fucking business.” He snapped, silent tears streamed down my face and we drove further away from everything I was familiar with around here.
What the hell am I going to do now? Is he really going to drag me off with him back to Ibadan? I can't let that happen. I wanted to grab my phone and make a call but he was all over me. I could do it, my eyes caught David's in the rear view mirror and he gave me a silent nod as if telling me I was going to be okay. But this didn't feel okay to me.
“Will you let us drop you off at this Merit school parking lot? It is not too late to let us go.” David said.
I wanted him to shut up because he was only going to make this worse. I know he wants to be out of here but he will have to be patient. Once Ezekiel has me, I will convince him not to harm David. I won't let that happen.
“You really don't know when to shut up, huh?” Ezekiel muttered, pulled me against his and kissed my shoulder again.
“I am going to remind you why you love me.” He whispered into my ear, though it was louder enough for David to hear.
He looked at him through the mirror and it made me blush in embarrassment. I didn't love this jerk, I thought I did but I understand now what that relationship truly was. I wasn't about to provoke him so I didn't say anything.
“The traffic won't get any better, I am taking some inner roads. I am a driver for a living, I know the best street to use.” David lied.
He isn't a driver, he had me so himself. Ezekiel demanded to know where he was going and he started naming some inner streets and side alleys. We got further from the traffic and started making better time for whatever location Ezekiel had given him. He was pleased with the less traffic and sat back comfortably on his lap. At the red light, David slowed to a stop and he looked at me through the mirror again. I could see his eyes were speaking to me, though I didn't know what they were saying. I sniffled a few times which caught Ezekiel's attention again.
“I don't know why you are crying, I am going to give you what I want. You always got your way.” He was delusional, recalling the past.
Again, I was too afraid to argue with him. He turned my body in his lap so I would face him.
“Say it, admit how good I was to you.” I pressed my lips together, not wanting to say anything.
“Say it, still love me. Don't you?” He said, grabbing my chin.
I pulled it away from him at the same time, the back window started rolling down.
“Hey, roll the window up!” He yelled at David, and suddenly I heard a familiar voice.
“Move and not only will I shoot you but so will he.” My brother's voice came from behind me.
I cranked my body to turn his wag and saw his hand sticking in the window, aiming a gun at Ezekiel's head. My body was on his and it would be tough to shoot him without shooting me too. My trembling returned to me again. On the other window, the one closest to us was the familiar inked hand of Callan. His gun was right up against Ezekiel's head again and if he shot, it would be clean.
“Give your weapon to David, now!” Callan ordered.
The car was red light but with both men having crept up to the windows, we were stopped in the middle of the street. Ezekiel hesitated a little bit.
“What stops me from killing her right now? My gun is in her gut. You really want to change it?” Ezekiel said, Callan's hand tightened around the gun.
“Chance? If you shoot her, I won't kill you quickly. I will cut your hands off and send them to the poor pathetic whore who gave birth to you. Then I will cut your díck off and make you choke on it. How is that a chance?” Callan growled. He was furious and that tone sounded so deadly. It made me believe him.
“Yes, you are a tough guy, I remember.” Ezekiel chuckled and showed his bruised face.
“Give David your gun and take the girl off your lap, now!” He yelled.
“Who the fuck do you think you are?” Ezekiel asked.
Callan muttered something before suddenly everything went into chaos. As Callan reached further in and let a shot ring out, he was simultaneously grabbing Ezekiel's gun, twisting his arm in a way that made the gun face away from me. At the same time, my brother was pulling me backwards, so I would essentially lay down in case Ezekiel pulled the trigger in all this. I heard Ezekiel yelp and when I looked, his leg was bleeding. Callan shot at his leg. Like this was some tactical mission, Callan and Bryce got into complete soldier mode, they subdued Ezekiel and removed me from the situation altogether. Callan wrapped his arm around Ezekiel's throat and pulled him from the car. He dragged him onto the sidewalk and closed himself in some kind of garage with him.
“What is he doing? What is going on, Bryce?” I grabbed my brother.
“We know this place.” He said and pulled me against him, he released a breath of relief.
Did David come here on purpose? How did all this happen? What is going on?
