Chapter 246: Happiness At Last

“Yes, I know. I will have to eventually turn the second bedroom into a walk-in closet which could probably withstand a door being added on the back wall connecting to our room.” Callan spoke as though he has thought of this before and it made my gut flip in the best way.

He didn't even realize what he said, he just mentioned it and started filling me up.

“Our bedroom?” I slipped that in while he was distracted. He kissed my neck.

“Obviously,” he replied and I couldn't get rid of the ridiculous smile on my face.

“So, you have thought about this?” I asked him and his lips paused.

“Not like that, not like…” he didn't even know what he was saying.

“I think about plenty of shit, I am a control freak.” He got defensive. It doesn't surprise me, it actually makes me laugh.

“I think about it.” I shrugged.

“Really?” He peeked down at me.

“Umm, if you can stand me long enough.” I teased him as I always do to relax him.

“That might go the other way around.” He chuckled.

“I just figured you aren't thinking that far ahead, since you don't seem ready.” I couldn't help my tongue from saying that.

“What do you mean?” He asked with a frown on his face 

“You haven't even been able to tell you love me, so I just figured those things will come with time.” 

I know I am fishing pathetically, he doesn't say it and I really want him to.

“I mean, if you do feel that way, I wasn't trying to assume.” I quickly added when I saw his expression and couldn't decipher it.

“Brianna, what do you think we were doing here?” He turned serious, annoyed and when I looked at him sheepishly, he sighed but pulled me against him.

“I say yes, you know what I mean.” He referred back to the only expression he has ever given me since I first told him I love him. I wanted more than that short word but maybe I am being ungrateful.

“I know,” I smiled and went on my toes to peck his lips. When I went down and motioned to step away he grabbed me.

“You do get it, right? You understand what I mean?” He asked me more seriously again. More conflicted actually and I could see a battle behind his eyes about something.

“I know,” I reiterated with a small smile. He didn't look satisfied. He almost looked guilty.

“I…Brianna, fuck.” He cursed and huffed at himself.

“Relax, I know you can't say it.” I assure him. This is new.

“But, I am saying it.” He huffed.

“In your own way, yes.” I agreed with him.

I say I love you and he says yes. It is probably very weird sounding to others but it means something to me.

It stems from London and everything after that had got us back together, he needed me to say yes, and then I needed him to say yes and he did. Sometimes he just randomly says yes and that is him telling me in his own way that he loves me.

“Not in my own way, I am just.. I am saying it.” He was getting frustrated that he couldn't make his point.

“Anyways, want to show me where you made space in the closet?” I asked him, walking in. We had started moving through the house while in conversation. He followed behind me and I could hear his footsteps.

“This is bothering me.” He said outright.

“What is it? The closet idea?” I was worried he changed his mind. He shook his head no though.

“That you don't think I am saying it. I mean, I cleaned out a part of my closet for you, I am saying it.” He was working himself up.

“Hey, I didn't mean to sound ungrateful for how you express your caring and love. I am happy I have a little nook for some of my things here. Thank you.” I went on my toes and kissed him.

“Sweetheart,” he called for me as I checked out the space and I hummed in response.

He walked to the back of the closet where I was standing, wrapping his arms around my middle so that my back was pressed against his front. His warm yummy scent wafted under my nose and I felt the softness of his lips against my throat when he pressed a kiss there.

“I am saying it,” he repeated that again. I just squeezed his arms that were wrapped around me.

“Brianna Fletcher, I..I..love you. I am saying it.” He made my pulse rocket and my heart stutter.

I gasped audibly without meaning to. Those words, hearing his deep and gruff voice say those words to me finally. Heat surged through my body and warmed my cheeks. I turned in his arms and captured his lips with mine. I don't think I have ever been happier than right now, in Callan's closet saying I love you and getting to hear the words back to me by the man who has completely consumed me since the day I laid eyes on him. 

“I love you, Callan fucking Harold. So very much.” I muttered, breaking the kiss.

“I love you, Brianna Fletcher. Wrong answer. I love you, Brianna fucking Harold.” My face heated up at his words. Brianna Harold, it matched perfectly with my name and makes me so damn happy.

Nobody ever tells me they love me and mean it. Callan Harold is a lot of things, he is harsh, scary, demanding, possessive, a boss, a boyfriend, a lover and a mafia Don. He is a beautifully handsome alpha male with the finesse of something dark and intense. Callan Harold is complicated, sexy and totally mine. He loves me and I believe him.

What more could I ask for? The man I love loves me back, I got my dream job and doing so damn well in the fashion industry. The only family I have, which is my brother Bryce, accepted my relationship with his best friend and finally gave us his blessings. My brother's off limits best friend is now the love of my life and I am the happiest woman on earth now. I pulled Callan close to me again and crashed his lips with mine, throwing my legs around his waist as he held me firmly. He kissed me lovingly and passionately. Finally, my happiness at last.
