Chapter 245: He Is My Boyfriend

Callan

I had been standing more rigid than I realized, still by the window. Bryce was still between the sofa and table but he plopped down after that. I heard his deep chuckle.

“You really are waiting for me to punch you?” He noticed my demeanor and I shrugged.

“Don't give me a reason to hit you, how about that?” He asked me.

“Fair enough,” I shrugged again.

“Then, I got shit to do.” I announced my departure. I have done what I came here to do, warn him that Brianna and I are dating and that he can't do shit about it.

“Where are you heading to? I thought we didn't have work today?” He asked me, I hesitated for my real answer.

“We don't,” that was all I decided to say. Is this how it is going to always be? Me feeling awkward bringing Brianna between us?

“You are picking her up, right?” He chuckled.

He is smart, he caught on just fine. I nodded and slid my phone from my pocket to be sure I didn't miss her message. He sighed but leaned forward to snatch the remote. He settled back into the sofa and clicked the large flat screen television on. I gave him one more quick glance but he felt it, his eyes tipped up to mine but he is like me, he can keep a blank expression.

“Settled?” I asked.

I know I lost his trust once when I went behind his back to fuck around with Brianna. I lied each time I flew out of the country, I told him she was nothing to me when she was far from it. I have lied to Bryce for a while now but here was the truth of it right in front of him. Brianna does matter, she always mattered and always will matter.

“Settled,” he nodded.

Brianna POV

We were all at Callan's penthouse this morning. Him, my brother, Angelo, myself and two of his other cousins who work alongside them in the family business. There no actual reason for me to be there, they discussed shipment and things I had no understanding of but Callan let me come meet his cousins and I really like that

I am his girlfriend now and meeting the Harold's on a more official basis had me blushing and giddy. I was standing in front of Callan's counter after I finished making everyone coffee and myself too. Gelo was leaning at his two cousins who were talking amongst themselves. It is morning and yet they are all in suits, my new norm. Bryce walked into the room and I watched curiously as he headed so decidedly to Callan and then he punched him in the face. I almost choked on my coffee.

“Bryce!” I gaped at the same time that Callan was grabbing his jaw.

“What the fuck was that?” He growled at my brother.

“You said I could punch you once a month for dating my sister.” Bryce deadpanned.

“That was a fucking joke.” Callan glared at Bryce's way and my brother had this shít eating grin on his face.

“Was it?” He asked his best friend sarcastically. I walked over to them just to be sure no actual fists fly. Smiling up at Callan sheepishly, I asked.

“Is it still worth it?” The corner of his lip tipped up which turned my sheepish smile to a real one.

Callan put his arm around me, pulling me to his side while still looking at my brother.

“Yes,” he replied matter of factly. It warmed me inside in more than one way.

“Bryce, please don't keep punching my boyfriend, though. Seriously?” I looked at him pointedly.

“Wow, look at Callan, cute and softie boyfriend.” One of his cousins teased him. He looked a lot like Angelo minus the toothpick. In the blink of an eye, Callan withdrew his gun and a gunshot rang out.

“Oh my goodness.” I gaped when the bullet went into the guy's foot.

“Am I still soft now, Jude?” Callan asked with a straight face. Jude was groaning and grabbing at his foot.

“Are you insane, Callan?” I couldn't believe he just shot his cousin.

“I know how to aim, it was a warning shot. Don't touch him.” He sucked his teeth.

“He is bleeding.” I kindly pointed out.

“Well, I nicked his toe. Probably the second one if my aim is still as good. He will be alright.” He kissed the top of my head.

His other cousins were cracking laughing, all of them and that was crazy.

“Anybody else want to comment on my relationship?” He asked the room. They all put their hands up in surrender.

Callan had some bags lined up in the foyer and when I looked at them, he noticed and explained.

“I cleaned some of my closet out.” I nodded, moving past them.

“Oh, good. You should donate the stuff if it is still good quality.” I suggested.

“Yes, you can handle that.” He deadpanned, the least bit interested.

“I have more room in my closet now.” He added.

“Ooh, why? Are you going shopping?” My eyes twinkled. I would love to buy him some suits and other more casual wear. Stylishly.

“No,” he looked annoyed somehow.

“There is a space now.” He reiterated.

“I know, I comprehend this.” I checked.

We had entered the foyer but I was paused just beyond the bags, unbuckling my heel and he grumbled.

“Clearly, you don't.” he muttered

When I got closer to him, he started looking away from me. I know this behavior.

“What is it?” I tried to get him to look at me. His hands had been in his pocket but they slid and touched my waist to hold me there. He can't help himself.

“Well, you have so much damn shit downstairs. I doubt you can fit it all if you wanted to put, like..something in there. Then there is space now.” He cleared his throat.

I couldn't help the grin that split across my face. He was trying to be casual but I see what is happening here.

“Are you asking me to move some of my things in here?” I pulled him so he couldn't walk off, wrapping my arms around his firm torso. He kept looking around, so I cupped his jaw. His strong and sharp jaw.

“It is not like you don't sleep here all the fucking time, you are right downstairs, it is not a big deal to put a few things here for convenience.” He started getting defensive for literally no reason.

“Yes, I agree. I would love to put a few things in there.” I smiled and nodded. His eyes did a double take.

“Really?” His temperament was already calming.

“I do have a lot of clothes and accessories. More than your measly closet could handle.” I joked around just so he wouldn't get all weird about being what he had deemed vulnerable with me for asking this.
