Chapter 231: Was This A Stupid Idea?

“Okay, Miss Fletcher, am I to earn the right to some touching tonight? Is that how this goes?” Callan surprisingly played along and I smirked 

“Yes, Callan, you have to earn it.” I sounded less silly and more sensual now.

He groaned and gripped my hips just a little bit tighter before letting go altogether.

“Have it your way.” He nodded and rounded the car. 

Today is going to be fun, I can feel it.

 Callan surprised me when he took me to the fashion collection and to a street that was literally fashion avenue. It was perfect for me, we walked down the sidewalks and read the plaques where each paid homage to a famous designer.

“I am going to be on one of these some day.” I told him.

“I don't doubt it in the slightest.” He squeezed my hand because yes, he had been holding it.

It was fun taking pictures over the plaques and once that was finished, we drove to some random part of the city that I wasn't familiar with. I assumed maybe he knows of a restaurant here or something but he surprised me yet again when he revealed our purpose here.

“It is Genevieve Nnaji's stoop.” He told me with a straight face. I gasped but then laughed, his expression went flat.

“What?” He grumbled. He looked handsome in his casual wear because the jeans he had chosen today fit snug in all the right places and the t-shirt showed the appeal of his muscles. It is the sunglasses that did me in. 

The man looked like a freaking actor or something.

“Nothing, I was just trying to figure out how you know who Genevieve is.” I smiled up at him. 

With the sun hitting our face he was glowing right now and for Callan Harold, the man a shade darker. That was rare.

“I googled it.” He got defensive, I squeezed his hand in mine and came up on my toes to be closer to him.

“But what exactly did you goggle?” I shouldn't give him a hard time, but I was just so surprised he thought of this.

“We are leaving.” He motioned to turn around before we even got down the street where the famous set of stairs are.

“No, no, okay.” I dragged him along.

“Oh, look. There.” I got excited when it was actually coming up in front of me.

I have loved her movies since I was a preteen who didn't understand half of what the women were talking about. I watched her in secret or else my father would have a fit. I don't even want to think of him, he doesn't deserve to plague my thoughts. That keeps me in the past when he is no longer relevant or living.

“Let's take a picture.” I tried to hurry over.

“I will take yours, you know I don't.” He probably rolled his eyes at me but I couldn't see it because of the sunglasses.

“I always know how to hide your face.” I reminded him, I have plenty of London pictures to prove it.

I haven't allowed myself to look at those for a long time now but I guess now I can look back fondly on them again without feeling that horrible ache inside my chest. There was a short line of people actually waiting to take their pictures in front of the house, so I guess this is more of a tourist attraction than I thought. While we waited, we continued our conversation.

“Oh, yeah? And how are you going to hide my face, huh? Because usually you would kiss me but I recalled you telling me you don't do that on the first date. So..” The smart ass trial off. I pouted my button lip out in thought.

“Maybe, a little kiss.” I peeked up at him, he was already smirking.

“Up to you.” He lifted one broad sexy shoulder. The fabric of his t-shirt was so soft it brushed against me when I would go up on my toes against him.

“I kiss on the first date.” he let him know, my expression flattered.

“You do?” I muttered, I hate thinking about him and other women.

“Well, this is the first actual date I have been on, but I am open to the idea.” He said with a smirk and it made my heart stutter.

“No, dates?” I asked, I was surprised.

I mean, I know he doesn't date-date women, he would just hook up but I figured he had at least taken some of those girls out before screwing them. Apparently not.

“A proper date? The going place the girl would enjoy and the whole dinner portion. No, never.”

I very much liked that answer and he could see it written all over my face.

“So….you only google for me?” I tugged him against me. He chuckled at my mention of him googling ideas for a date with me. Swoon, gosh.

“Only you.” He brought his head slightly lower.

“Does that earn me a kiss?” He whispered against my cheek. It was our turn to take a picture and a kind woman offered to take it.

“Yes, you have earned one.” I couldn't wipe the dumb smile on my face.

When we got to the stoop, I turned to him and went up on my toes to kiss him. He pressed his lips on mine and we stayed frozen there while the woman snapped a few pictures. Then Callan unexpectedly dipped me, I squealed and a few laughs rang out around us from the line of people waiting. He kept his lips on me and the woman took more pictures. When he brought me upright again and finished his kiss, I was breathless. 

“Go ahead, now I will take a few of just you.” He said normally like he didn't just make me swoon again. 

If this is the new Callan, then I am loving it. He is calmer, more pleasant and he has this look in his eyes that I have never seen before. I haven't been able to decipher it completely but it is saying something to me. I posed for a few pictures in my cute outfit, me holding the bag up, me sliding my sunglasses down in a trendy way. You know the drill and then the IG poses. After that, we had to move along because people were waiting, but I got some good ones from my page because as we walked off, I took a quick glance at the pictures he snapped. I stopped him on the sidewalk so he did a double take to see why. 

“I really appreciate you taking the time to find things around the city that I would appreciate. Next date, we should do something you like doing.” I told him.

“Next date, huh? So I am passing all the tests here today?” He called me out. 

“I think so,” I smiled.

We were still standing off to the side of the sidewalk so we weren't in anyone's way. My head has to tip to be able to look at him.

“You like sports, maybe we can go see a game sometimes?” I thought of it on a whim.

“A game, huh?” His large hands came up and rubbed over my shoulders. I let him and when he saw I was letting him, he let them glide down the sides of my arms.

“Humm, I have a really cute city hat I could totally find an outfit for.” 

For whatever reason, he chuckled at that. His hands continued to glide back up my arms and round my shoulders again until it was only his fingertips now that feathered down my back. It made me shiver.

“Was this a stupid idea?” He randomly asked, glancing back up at the actress's house.

“No, I loved it, really. Both things actually, it is something I wouldn't have thought of. I am so glad you did.” I ran my hands up his chest, he groaned at my subtle touch without letting him feel me up completely. In his eyes, we were starting fresh.

“Are you going to tell me what exactly you goggled to find this?” I asked him.

“No,” he stated so matter of factly, it made me laugh. He took my hand and started walking us down the road.

“Are you hungry?” He asked, I nodded yes.

I was definitely ready to eat after all this walking around, I was having a lot of fun with him.

“Is this meal going to earn me a second kiss? A small ass squeeze above the dress?” He continued to mock my no touching rule on our first date.

We have been touching just in a mere tame way, which is oddly feeling like some good foreplay. The more he acknowledges that he is not touching me, the more I find that I want him to. I wouldn't tell him that though, I am supposed to be playing coy.

“For an ass squeeze, it better be a dang good restaurant.” I told him, he shook his head but I could see he was amused.
