Off Limits, Brother's Best Friend Chapter 182
Chapter 182: Roy Is Single
Brianna
“You are fucking gorgeous, sweetheart but I want to keep my face.” Roy said.
What does that mean? I was distracted so I didn't even notice when Angelo walked up to us and he pulled Roy aside, so I felt his hands leave my hips for a second. His other friends, the one who were making comments were still grinning, I felt self conscious and one of them nudged the other and tipped his chin at something specific. I followed their eyes and my gut flipped when my eyes caught with Callan's. I quickly turned back to where I had previously been facing.
“Oh, fuck off Angelo.” I heard Roy suck his teeth at him. If they were friends, I don't even know actually. Gelo continued to try to say something to him almost like they were arguing but I couldn't hear what they were saying anymore. When Roy came back to me, I glanced up at him.
“Is everything okay?” I asked, he looked at me like he was trying to decide something.
“Can I ask you something?” He asked, he looked the most serious I have seen him and it made me weirdly nervous.
“Umm, sure.” I fidgeted, we weren't dancing anymore, we were standing between moving bodies
“Did you and Harold date or something?” He shocked me by asking.
“As in Angelo?” He added, I was confused. He realized what he said and quickly shook his head.
“No, wrong Harold. I meant Callan.” He clarified, my gut flipped for no good reason. I always feel caught whenever people mention his name.
“No,” I squeal out, he glanced back at Angelo but nodded at what I said.
“What is going on?” I asked, he tried to say nothing but I wasn't about to drop it.
“Roy, please can you tell me?” I looked up at him, his eyes darted around my face. Even in dim light, they are still very hazel.
“Well, shit. How can I say no to that.” He waved over my expression and pulled me aside so we weren't bumping swaying bodies.
“Angelo warned me against Callan, not your brother. That is why I asked you.” He explained, my eyes widened slightly but I caught myself.
“What did he say about Callan?” I played dumb, his eyes went past me but returned to me quickly.
“He said it would probably be wise if I left you alone unless I wanted to risk pissing Callan off. He also said he doesn't want to clean up my brain matter, so I am assuming he means when Callan shoots me in the head.” he deadpanned, I almost choked.
“That is excessive, I don't see why he would.” I quickly sputtered out, he didn't look convinced.
“Brianna, I would rather you be honest with me now, so I know what I am up against here. I am not going to let him scare me away, but I would like to know if I need to duck later. I like my head.” He deadpanned again and it made me laugh which made him smirk in satisfaction. Do I want to be honest with this guy? He is so easy going that I felt actually weirdly comfortable telling him the truth.
“We almost had a thing, it didn't pan out and it was his choice to end it. So I don't think you need to worry about him hurting you.” I assured him.
“He left you? Idiot.” He chuckled and I blushed stupidly.
“So there is a fifty fifty percent chance that I am getting into a fist fight with either Bryce or Callan tonight? Boss and underboss, sounds fantastic.” He said sarcastically, but he clearly wasn't scared away. He is nuts for that.
“Roy, I won't be offended if you want to back off and just go have fun with your friends.” I gave him an out.
I would want him to get hit by one of those two. Not that Callan would, he definitely doesn't care anymore but who knows what my brother would think of it.
“I can take a hit.” He shrugged.
“A bullet, no but a hit, I can take it.” He smirked and it made me laugh again.
“No one will be getting shot tonight.” I patted his arm, he looked down at the contact and licked his lips.
“Then, want to dance, beautiful?” He started leading me back to the dance floor.

It started becoming increasingly obvious that eyes were on us, I didn't like it. It was either Roy's friends chuckle at how he has balls or Angelo looking between us and Callan. I wouldn't look at Callan, but I felt like maybe he looked over. If his cousin was looking at him, I can think of why else, unless he was looking first and I think Bryce was the only one not looking even Jane kept giving me eyes. I told him that I needed to use the bathroom and she and Jane and I linked arms going to the private bathroom here in vip.
“What is happening? Who do I feel like people are paying attention to us?” I asked her.
“Well, it started as the group of guys laughing at Roy for having the balls to grind on you with your brother around. They aren't laughing at you, it is all about him but Angelo got all serious and I don't really know about that half of things. But Charles told me they are waiting for one of them to snap, Bryce or Callan. They are taking a bet.” She explained, my eye almost popped out of their sockets.
“Excuse me? They are taking a bet on whether or not Roy gets attacked tonight?” I huffed.
“Your brother isn't going to do anything, Jane and you know it. I don't know who even brought him up because they didn't even know the two of us had anything going on last year.” I shook my head, I didn't even need to pee. I just needed her in a quieter place.
“Umm, I think because Callan keeps looking at you.” She dropped those little tidbits of information.
“He is?” I didn't like how my inside felt about that.
“The revenge dress, babes. I told you.” She teased me.
“He is looking, though, seriously? But not in a murderous way, right? Because Roy made a joke about being shot, he wouldn't do that, right?” I was waiting for confirmation from her, she gave me the so-so hand gestures instead.
“What do you mean so-so?” I gasped at her.
“If Callan cares in any capacity, there is always a good chance of violence. My brother is crazy.” She replied.
I knew he was but not to shoot his own friend in a club kind of crazy, right? We did have the Amos incident once where he cruised the city looking for him with a gun in his lap but that was when he considered me his. Callan literally wants the opposite now, he wants me to stay away from him, not to talk to him, not even look at him. So things are different now.
“Maybe we should get back out there just in case.” She nudged me along.
At the same time a group of girls were coming in, they started trying to talk to her and we got caught in the web of them. I felt someone bumped shoulders with me hard and when I looked back I saw who it was. Hannah, she gave me the dirtiest look ever but I didn't understand why. Does she have something going to Roy? No way, that is her cousin. Oh maybe, she doesn't want me dancing with her cousin, I can't fathom why she wouldn't like me. I talked to her once for a few seconds when she said I was crashing her party but she changed tunes on that as soon as Bryce showed up. Would she hold a grudge over that? It's kind of crazy if she does.
“Oh, she is the girl.” One of them said, heads turned to me and I realized I was who she was referencing. I stupidly looked behind me like I had seen someone.
“What?” I asked this group of strangers.
“You have been dancing with Roy, right?” One of them asked me.
“Umm, yes. Does he have a girlfriend? Because I didn't know if he did and I am sorry.” I said right away to them and they laughed.
“No, Roy is single. He is just bringing a lot of attention towards you guys because people are convinced your brother is going to knock his head in.” She giggled.
They are all probably mafia princesses. I don't fully understand the term but I heard them use it about these girls who are daughters and sisters of the mafia. I think I am the odd one out here.
Well, my brother is actually in the mafia, so what the hell does that make me? Certainly not a mafia princess, I didn't grow up in this life.
