Chapter 94: I Want To Do It All

Brianna

Callan was a man of his word, I lost count of the orgasm he gave me while we had each other repeatedly throughout the night. I passed out after he was through with me and only now I woke up with a jolt when I couldn't feel him beside me. I saw him retracting back as he tried to sneak out quietly to catch his flight.

“Callan? I called after him, he paused and glanced back.

A t-shirt and jeans with a duffle bag hanging off his shoulder, I stood up even though my legs felt wobbly and my pussy was very sore.

“It is early so go back to sleep.” He tried turning me around.

“No, I want to say goodbye.” I frowned.

“You don't like saying goodbye, you like to just up and leave, Brianna.” He reminded me of that fact, I do actually hate goodbyes but I wanted to kiss him again.

I pulled him to me and went on my toes, he did the rest. He wrapped an arm around me and kissed me and when he pulled away, I blinked up at him and felt the burn of tears.

“Brianna,” he huffed at me.

“Just ignore it.” I said, pretending I wasn't tearing up at him leaving.

He wiped my cheek with his thumb, and then pressed a kiss to my forehead. He looked away before speaking.

“Go back to bed.” And then he was out the door without a second glance.

I spent my entire week working for Elizabeth, I was running all the errands she doesn't want to do herself which meant I was doing a lot of actually running around. I had to carry like ten bags and boxes worth of gifts to a client and guest she was receiving. I had to organize her racks for the look book, I had to pick up dry cleaning and make appointments for her. I barely had a minute to myself and it was already Monday again which means I probably have a busy week too. I won't complain though, I know I am paying my due as an intern to get to where I wanted to be in the future and I do have another five bandaids on my feet due to blisters and I am pretty tired going into the office today. When I entered the building, the other assistants were moving about getting some things done. I barely got a nod from them as they passed me.

“Brianna, come.” Elizabeth waved me to her desk.

“I got everything on the list finished.” I let her know, assuming that is what she wanted from me.

“I know, sit down.” She waved me again to join her at her desk. Nerves spiked within me because I thought maybe I was about to get in trouble for something.

“You will have a guest who I got a call from this weekend.” She began.

“Who?” I asked. Her flat lips gave away no distinct expression to tell me if this was a positive or negative thing.

“Lady Alinco.” He replied and I tipped my head.

“Janet?” I was surprised.

“Yes, she inquired about you.” She said in a segment.

“Really? But why?” I couldn't fathom it.

Elizabeth was sitting with a straight back in her chair as she often does, her seat is always completely rolled in. Placing her hands in front of her, she folded them and took a moment to study me. It was kind of driving me nuts because she was dragging this out for no reason.

“Just wondering what your credentials were and what I thought of you as an intern. Do you know where Lady Alinco works, Brianna?” She asked and I shrugged.

“I have no clue.”

We were momentarily interrupted when her cell phone buzzed. She held a finger up and answered it. What would Janet want with me that she had been inquiring about me? She did make a comment right before I left the party, telling me she felt like she would see me again. I didn't hold much weight to her words but now, I am curious. When Elizabeth got off the phone, she finally got straight to the point.

“Janet Alinco is a senior fashion news writer for Vogue runway.” She said, looking at me expectantly. Knowing I would react.

“What? Really?” My eyes went wide.

“She is very well respected there, as you can imagine. Anyway, she inquired about you and your interest in the fashion industry, I told her what you have told me over time and I mentioned your appreciation for Vogue and she talked some things through with me. Brianna, would you like to split your up and intern for both myself and Lady Alinco? She said she would take you on if you were interested.” My jaw dropped.

“What!” I couldn't help the volume of my voice. I hopped to my feet in total shock and excitement.

“But remember, Brianna, you would have a lot of work to do between the two of us. It is not all glamour, it is also a lot of hard work.” She muttered.

“Yes, I want to do it. I can do it.” I reiterated and she gave me her infamous smirk.

“Well then, you will be having a sort of informal interview with the woman later this week, you can make your final decision then.”

I stood there for a second in shock of all of this, how have I gotten so lucky? Honestly, I know people take years and years to try and get even one tiny foot in the door. To intern at a place like Vogue is so cute because so many people want it and most have similar resumes. You really have to stand out and it is hard to do, it is pure luck for me and I feel like I don't even deserve it.

Meeting Callan meant meeting his associates, that was the only reason why I am in this position in London and now potentially Vogue. Really?

“Brianna, stay with us here, you see that pile in the back. It is all yours to sort.” She chuckled at my reality check.

“Right, of course. I will get to work.” I smoothed my outfit down and cleared my racing mind with a head shake.

I won't lie, I spent the rest of the day just thinking about this.

I have an international phone so that I can make calls to both my country and here in London, so when my phone rang with a random London number, I was quick to answer it.

“Brianna Fletcher?” I heard a slight accent.

“Lady Alinco?” I asked right away.

“It is, but sweetheart, call me Janet. Have you spoken with your boss?” She asked.

“I have and honestly Janet, I am shocked and very grateful that you would even consider letting me intern for you. Vogue is my dream, amongst becoming a designer myself.” I told her outright.

“I have a good eye for promising individuals, I spotted you at the party and you have the magic.” She said to me

“Wow, thank you.” I was so overwhelmed right now that I could barely speak beyond my tight chest. But it was a good kind of tight, I was overwhelmed because I was happy.

“Elizabeth didn't want to let you go since your contract here is technically connected with her work, but she was gracious enough to share with you. I already have a few interns anyhow, so I don't mind the split of work. If you are interested, I can show you the world of vogue runway. What do you think?” She even bothered asking me.

“Yes, yes to all of it.” I blurted out, she chuckled in her fabulous way.

The woman had an air about her that made her seem effortless.

“My English speaking is good but my writing English isn't as good, so I prefer phone calls when we need to speak but I will text you the date, time and location you can meet me for our first day. This is going to be fuc, Brianna Fletcher. Bye for now.” She said and hung up the call.

I stayed looking at my blank phone screen for a second. Is this really happening? Janet Alinco feels like a mythical creature I accidentally stumbled upon at a party and now suddenly she is giving me a  life changing opportunity, in her same enigmatic fashion.  Because it is evening here, it was noontime in my country, so I decided to call my brother. I was so excited to tell him right away, I wanted to tell Jane in person and I wasn't home yet. Bryce picked up instantly.

“Hey, kiddo. Is everything okay? You don't usually call on Mondays.” He went straight to the point.

“I am more than okay, Bryce. Guess what?” I sounded like a giddy child.

“What?” He chuckled, humoring me. I was so excited that I didn't know how to start.
