Chapter 19: I Like Getting My Hands Dirty

I sat at the head of the table with the five heads of crime families waiting to see why they called this bullshit sit down. Mr. Vallant, the head of Vortex Cartel, cleared his throat and turned to me to begin speaking. I am friends with Vallant's son and I have fucked his daughter, not that he knows about it.

“Shenice, my daughter wants to get married to an outsider.” He announced.

“Who?” I asked.

She wasn't obligated to marry inside the circle but it is preferred when people do. If he was calling a meeting there is more to this though.

“The guy is a made-guy, just not for us.” He beat around the bush, I glanced down at my watch and back at him to make it known that I didn't have the fucking time for the dramatics.

“A guy from Black Knight.” He pressed his lips together, knowing the reception of this news wouldn't be favorable to him.

“ A fucking foreign man!” Jordan spat. He never liked foreigners, especially Spanish. I folded my arms in front of me and considered this.

“You said he is a made-man but how high up? We may be able to use this in our favor.” I muttered.

I thought about it, the Spanish and Americans have had bad blood between them for decades. We don't let them run my territories here in Port Harcourt but they do have a footing in other cities like Ibadan and other parts of the country. Black Knight is a guy we know through the troubles they gave us over trying to run point on the gun trade in the East coast. I have Velvet Vipers for all that and I am not planning on changing it. The bastard might be crazy but they have been loyal and give me good products. However, a treaty of some kind or even just a civil line of communication could be useful for many things. I don't know where a Vortex would run into a fucking Spanish man around these part but she is apparently fallen in love. I really don't give a shit, this is from a business standpoint only.

“He is Black Knight's son…” he continued to look at me as others started muttering things around the table. I leaned back in my chair and scratched my chin.

“His son, huh?” I thought further on it.

“I don't know if this would help or hurt us if I give my blessings for this. Either they will feel entitled to something and start bothering us or they will feel they owe us something and we can use them to our advantage.” I looked at the other men, much older than myself.

They are doing a lot in Buguma nowadays, that it's where their major operations are running. I have no business there but maybe I do now. They are big on burglaries and methamphetamines which I don't fully dabble with. I am more in the cocaine and heroin trade but if we had a little branch down in Buguma, I wouldn't say no to more money.

“Vallant, you will have to arrange a sit down with Black Knight and his boy, I won't give my blessings until I talk to these men. I need to know what they are about.” I said and he nodded, he thanked me a hundred times for not blowing up on him for letting his daughter touch a Spanish man.

“I have a small matter before we conclude this meeting.” Charlie cleared his throat to regain our attention and I nodded for him to continue.

“A few of my Capo's are complaining about a new little street gang down our town. Young guys tryna act tough and make a name, they are breaking windows and causing trouble in some of our bars. They gave them a beating here and there but the fuckers don't seem very phased.” He said and I gritted my teeth.

“New guys?” I muttered, I hadn't been made aware until now.

“Have you Capo's grab a couple of them? I want to talk to them myself.” I said.

I decided and a few eyes went wide around the room. To have the Don dealing with street guys is less heard of but I like getting my hands dirty and I often do when a beating is involved. Especially if they are new to the area and causing this much trouble. I want to know who they work for.

“I will do that, boss. I will let them know right away.” He stood up and tapped the table.

Charlie looked at me to see if I was expecting them, I lifted two fingers telling them they are free to go. I took my phone out and called Bryce and Angelo. I wanted them to hear what all this had been about, I had them doing something for me today so they hadn't been available for this meeting.

“Nice, I am down to be part of the beating.” Bryce said and I knew he would.

“Yes, alright. Angelo, you go deal with the shipments.” I ordered.

“Come on, I am going to miss the fun.” He huffed.

“Too bad, you didn't speak up fast enough, Bryce is coming with me.” I said.

He knew better than to whine too much or he would get a knock upside the head from me.

It didn't take very long for those assholes to get caught and brought into one of our closed bars for me to meet them. Right away, I could see they were idiots, face tattoos and bad attitudes. They weren't organized crimes, they were sloppier than that, they were four of them and we had them on bar stools, not tied up or anything. They didn't need to be, they sat stone faced for now. Let's see if I can break them down. I walked in front of them and shoved my hands into my pocket while I looked at each of them, taking my time.

“How about you go ahead and tell me who the fuck you are and who you work for.” I got to the point.

Right away, the ring leader showed himself when he sat straight on the stool and rolled his shoulder back to puff out his chest.

“You will learn soon enough.” The asshole said to me in an obvious hispanic accent. I grit my teeth but before I could speak, Bryce approached me and whispered into my ear.
