Chapter 13: End Of Discussion

Brianna

“Get lost,” Callan's deep voice breaks through.

“I was just introducing myself to the little Fletcher.” Angelo said with a smirk in his tone but I refused to look up.

I could feel Callan's tall boy right next to me, his aura filled a room no matter who else was present.

“Brianna,” Callan called.

He acknowledged me for the first time ever, I swallowed hard and peeked up at him. I couldn't help but blush. His face remained serious, though I felt his eyes were talking to me.

“Umm, hello.” That was all I managed to say before looking back down. I was so embarrassed right now that I could die.

Callan was in a black tailored suit that was partially unbuttoned at the top, revealing some tan smooth flesh. I didn't see any tattooed skin from the small opening so I wonder if his chest is bare. I know how arms aren't, with his sleeve rolled up yesterday, I saw his black ink down the length of it. He didn't at all look like he was bothered by my presence, he didn't seem embarrassed about last night's event. He actually looked entirely disinterested.

I couldn't say the same about myself, I kept trying to avoid looking at him but his body standing right there, beside me was a distraction. Why was he still here? Angelo was talking for a minute but once he quieted down, Callan was still here.

“Is Bryce coming?’ Angelo asked and I felt Callan's eyes shifted down to me and I stupidly blushed even though I wasn't even looking at him.

“I think so,” he replied in his deep voice.

He was always a man of few words and I heard him snapped his fingers, waving at his cousin to stand up. I only lifted my eyes enough to see that sexy inked hand. When Angelo stood up, he replaced him in the chair and my gut clenched, my body froze. Why is he here? And what is her doing? His gaze on me burned my flesh but I still couldn't face him, the image of him fisting his erection last night flooded my mind and my cheek were pink again. I don't know what look he gave his cousin to make the man walk away but he did. I cursed him internally for leaving me here in this very awkward situation.

“Are you going to ignore that I am not here?” He deep voice truly was like honey drizzle over gravel.

My whole body shook, I gulped and forced myself to peek up at him. This was torture, I just nodded yes without verbally saying so. He leaned back in the booth and draped his arm over the back of it, he looked like a boss, confident and sure of himself. He is everything that I am not and when jks second hand came up to his mouth, his thumb dragged across his bottom lip. My body clenched for a whole new reason and I pressed my thighs together.

“And why is that?” He asked.

Is he trying to embarrass me on purpose? I thank goodness when I felt someone approaching and realized it was my brother. I was saved.

“Scooch.” Bryce waved me to move farther into the booth.

I reluctantly shifted inside and looked entirely at my brother, trying to ignore his best friend. I felt his stare on me though, he was annoyed that I hadn't been able to respond. His jaw tightened than usual when I managed to look up again.

“How was work?” Bryce asked and I gave him a small smile.

“It was good, I liked everyone there and everything ran smoothly.” I replied and thought about David.

“Your poor employee doesn't have to drive me around, Bryce. I can get around on my own.” I added and he took the menu from my hand and glanced down at it.

He didn't even need to because a second later, the hostess was rushing over and placing menus in front of the two men.

“How is my wife?” He teased me.

“If you like Sandra, why don't you ask her out?” I said and he snorted.

“I don't want to date right now, I like keeping my options open. I just like teasing her.” I shook my head.

“Men,” I mumbled and he chuckled.

“What does that mean?” He asked, I didn't look at him while I responded. I stayed viewing the menu.

“You like someone but you won't give her respect by actually engaging in a relationship.”

“I like plenty of people.” That was his dumb answer and I shook my head again.

Callan hadn't said a word since Bryce showed up, he was still seated in his relaxed position but his attention wasn't on me anymore, he was surveying the room.

“How was your and your secret job you love being vague about?” I asked.

“It is not vague, I told you that. I help Callan run his family businesses.” He said and I rolled my eyes, the waitress appeared so I didn't say anything else on that matter.

“Mr. Harold, Mr. Fletcher, good evening. What can I get you?” She was poised and quick to get to us.

The waitress didn't address me at all but I could see why. Her eyes were trained on the men and I can only assume it was because she found them both handsome. That probably explains her nervous demeanor. When we ordered our food, Callan ordered some appetizers and turned his attention to me for once.

“Will you try them?” He said and it was more like an order and I nodded my head just so I wouldn't have to converse with him.

I kept picturing him in his bed jerking off, I can not be here right.

“Did you get to check the town before work? You would love it.” My brother said once the waitress was gone.

“I didn't, it would be too much temptation if I window shop at all my favorite stores.” I pouted playfully.

“I can give you some money to shop if you want.” He said so easily and I hesitated.

“I feel weird taking your money.” I shook my head no.

“Why? You act like we are strangers.” Bryce sounded somewhat offended.

“It is not that…I don't know, you are not my parents. You don't have to feel obligated to take care of me.” I mumbled.

“I should have taken care of you a lot more than I ended up doing, I can afford it, Brianna. Just take some money and enjoy yourself for once, consider it the birthday present I didn't get you last month.” He said the same thing I jokingly thought about earlier.

“I mean…I guess but this is weird.” I huffed.

“You just aren't used to having money.” He waved me off.

“Apparently you have.” I pointed out how different he is now.

“End of discussion.” He cut me off and I just sighed. When he noticed my outfit, his eyebrows furrowed.

“What the fuck are you wearing?”
