Chapter 35: I Am Crazy, Don't Test Me

Brianna.

“You are unbelievable.” I said to Callan, I was incredulous at his behavior.

He grabbed my arm and dragged me to a more quiet street and once we got there, he backed me into the side of a building and caged me between his both arms. My head was pressed against the wall to create space between our faces again and when I looked up at him, I was always so close.

“I don't like repeating myself, you aren't going out with him again.” His words were clipped and his chest was moving with his angry breaths. What the hell is going on?

“Again what right did you have to tell me that?” My hand came up and tried shoving him away from me but his palms stayed planted flat against the walls on either side of me. He used it to lean down further.

“You have the right to choose, you stay away from him and he kept his teeth or you keep him and I knock them out of his fucking face.” I was stunned by his words and his aggression. He was serious about this.

“You are crazy.” I breathed.

I was too close to this man and my senses were turning hazy. He had no right to talk to me this way, and yet my body was on fire for him again. What is wrong with me?

“I am crazy so don't test me.” He warned.

“You are crossing a line.” I said as I tried to recollect myself.

When he leaned closer, our noses brushed for a second and it took away my breath. If he kissed me now, I would die. I am consumed by his special cologne and his demanding aura, his body was so close to me and I can say where the fabric strains his taut muscles beneath. His lips look so pink and soft in comparison to his rough darks stubble, his eyes were piercing from this close.

“You have crossed lines first.” He clearly meant the picture and probably the fact that I walked into his room and watched him jerked off.

“And you asked me to stop, so I am doing the same.” I said and his jaw clenched and unclenched.

“I did that for your own good.” I shook my head and looked down at the barely existent gap between us. I couldn't face him when talking about this.

“Yes, right.” I mumbled.

Since I was cager in, I really had nowhere to go but I could control when I looked. That was until he brought his hand up and took my chin so I would face him. His grip was firm, although it didn't hurt.

“I can't go there with you, Brianna. I respect your brother too much and we trusted each other with our lives back in the special forces and we still do today. I can't let you send me sexy pictures without me acting on them.” I said and he was being honest.

“Then don't act on my personal life either.” I moved my face away, he chuckled but in a scary way.

“I told you what will happen, the rest is up to you.” He freed me.

“Callan?” I called, I couldn't win with him.

He wants to space between us so he doesn't cross any lines with my brother but he thinks he can dictate who I spend my time with, hell no?

“Don't provoke me, Brianna.” His words were strained.

I wanted to stomp away but he grabbed me again, pressing me to the wall and his hand came up but this time it was to let his thumb brush across my lower lip. My lips parted for him as he ran this thumb across and pulled it slightly down. He gritted his teeth and released my lips, cursing under his breath as he pulled away from me

The air was so thick between us, I could barely breathe and I wanted him to pin me to this wall and ravage my mouth. I wanted those inked hands all over my body and now that I know he wanted the same thing but doesn't want to break the trust he and my brother had. It only makes me want him more, I know he just wants me physically and nothing more but I would give it to him.

“Let's go, I will drive you home.” He said as he straightened his jacket and cracked his knuckles.

He turned away from me to walk back towards his car, I had no energy to fight with this time so I just followed him. His words replayed in my mind on a loop, he said he can't act on this and I didn't want to disrespect my brother either but damn it, his best friend was just too attractive for me to follow the rules.

In the car, we didn't speak, his hand remained tight on the wheel and I crossed my arms over my chest and looked out the window. There was so much tension in the jar and I had to actively try and ignore it if I was going to survive this ride.

After the tense ride with the sexiest man in the world, I hadn't seen him again for the next three days. I was at home getting ready for my shift when there was a call from downstairs that a package was waiting for me. I didn't order anything so I wasn't sure what it was. I went downstairs and grabbed the brown box to bring it up with me.

I opened the black as soon I was back into my apartment and staring up at me were those same boots with gold heels I had tried on three days ago. I dropped the package on the couch and pulled one of the shoes out. I looked around the box to see if there was a note and sure enough there was one. I pulled it out and read it.

'Since you forget to go back and purchase them on your shopping trip.’

There was no need for the card to be signed because I already knew who it was that bought them. Is that five thousand shoes, is he crazy? Then again this is the man that gave me five thousand as a birthday present but I can't accept this gift from him. He is so confused, he said he can't go there with me yet he buys me something like this. Is this so casual to him? Maybe it is, maybe he does this to a lot of women. I couldn't help myself, I had to text him.

'I can't accept five thousand shoes from you.’

He didn't take long to response, though it wasn't through a text message. He called instead of texting and for some reason that made me nervous.

“Why not?” He said as soon as I picked up the call.

“Because that was a lot of money, I already accepted a birthday gift I shouldn't have.” He was quiet for a second.

“It is nothing to be, so shut up and take it.” He tried to sound disinterested.

“Why did you even buy this?”
