The Human Girl Who Tamed Alpha King Chapter 103
ARIA
My little boy's name is going to be Atlas, and I love it.I ran my hand over my swollen belly, feeling the strong kicks from within. 4+ months, approaching 5 months, and Atlas already had quite a kick. Everything still felt surreal sometimes.
"The baby's developing well, but you need more rest, Aria," Dr. Maya's words echoed in my mind. "Remember, you might deliver early."
I was walking back to the packhouse when a soft sobbing stopped me. My instincts kicked in, and I followed the sound. At the edge of the grove, I saw a girl crying. She looked a lot like Robert, so I guessed she must be his daughter Emma.
"Emma?" I called softly.
She jerked her head up, immediately lowering it in respect when she recognized me. "Luna Aria, I'm sorry for disturbing you. No disrespect meant."
"Emma, please don't be so formal." I sat beside her, the ground cool beneath me. "Are you okay?"
"Not really." She wiped away tears. "I guess you know what happened to me."
I nodded.
"Jace wanted to check on you himself, but we thought you might need some space," I said gently.
"Thank you for your consideration." She spoke quietly. "I don't want to be a burden to the pack. Not after everything you and Alpha Jace did for me."
"You're not a burden." I squeezed her hand. "You're pack now. You're family. We'll always be here for you."
Her eyes welled up again at my words. "Thank you, L—" She caught herself.
"Just Aria is fine." I smiled. "Have you seen Dr. Maya yet?"
She shook her head, fear washing over her face. "I'm afraid to. I'm scared of what she'll tell me."
"You're worried about the forced marking?" I asked quietly.
"I think I might be... pregnant." The words tumbled out like a confession. "That monster... he said I would carry his pups. It's been two months, and I've been feeling sick." Her voice broke. "I can't bear it, Aria. I can't carry Alpha Green's child."
I caught the despair in her voice immediately. "Let me go with you to see Dr. Maya, okay? Whatever we learn, you won't face it alone."
Emma hesitantly nodded. I helped her to her feet and reached out through the mind link to contact Dr. Maya.
*Dr. Maya, can you see Emma right away? It's urgent.*
*Of course, Aria. I'll prepare immediately.*
The medical room smelled of herbs and healing. Dr. Maya professionally guided Emma to lie down and began her examination. I stood nearby, holding Emma's hand tightly.
"How long have you been experiencing symptoms?" Dr. Maya asked gently.
"About two weeks," Emma answered, her voice barely audible. "Morning sickness, sensitivity to smells."
Dr. Maya took out a special crystal, holding it above Emma's abdomen. The crystal emitted a soft blue light that cast shadows on the wall.
"Emma," Dr. Maya began carefully, "I know this is difficult, but I need to ask about the timing. The attack happened two months ago, correct?"
Emma nodded, tears streaming down her face.
Dr. Maya studied the crystal's glow intently, her brow furrowed in concentration. She moved it slowly across Emma's abdomen, then paused, looking surprised.
"Emma," she said carefully, "You are indeed pregnant."
Emma's grip on my hand tightened painfully. A sob escaped her throat.
"But," Dr. Maya continued, her voice taking on a different tone, "this pregnancy is approximately three months along, not two."
Emma's crying stopped abruptly. "What? That's impossible."
"The crystal doesn't lie," Dr. Maya said, turning the crystal so we could see the pulsing blue light more clearly. "This child was conceived before the attack."
Emma stared in disbelief. "But Johnny and I were told he couldn't..."
Dr. Maya's expression softened. "Were you and Johnny trying any treatments before his death?"
Emma's face lit up in surprise. "Elder Joah gave Johnny a special herb. We tried it for months with no visible results."
Dr. Maya smiled genuinely for the first time since we entered. "That's your answer. The Moon Goddess works in mysterious ways, sometimes with delayed blessings. This child is Johnny's, Emma. Not Alpha Green's."
Emma covered her mouth, a sound between a gasp and a sob escaping. "Johnny's baby? Truly?"
"Without doubt," Dr. Maya confirmed, giving Emma a cloth for her tears. "Alpha Green's forced marking hasn't affected this pregnancy. The child was already growing inside you, protected by the Moon Goddess."
I felt my own eyes welling up as I watched Emma's expression transform from despair to wonder. The Moon Goddess had shielded her from the ultimate violation - carrying her attacker's child.
"It's really Johnny's baby," Emma whispered, placing both hands over her belly. "A part of him survived."
I embraced Emma tightly as she broke down in tears - healing tears this time. "See? The Moon Goddess hasn't abandoned you."
Leaving the examination room, we literally bumped into Caleb. He looked much better than when I'd last seen him.
"Aria, I'm sorry," he quickly apologized, then noticed Emma. "Emma, how are you holding up?"
"Better than I could have imagined," Emma replied with a genuine smile. "The Moon Goddess has blessed me."
"I'm glad to hear something good has come from all this," Caleb said sincerely. "I lost my mate too this year. I know the pain."
"Thank you for your kindness," Emma responded.
Caleb nodded in acknowledgment. "I'm on my way to see the healer now. I should go." He added to me, "Thank you for arranging those meetings. They've really helped."
Watching Caleb walk away, I felt a renewed sense of purpose. Helping wolves who'd suffered tragedy rebuild their lives was exactly what my support group was designed for.
Back home, I eagerly told Jace everything that had happened.
"A true blessing from the Moon Goddess," he said, his expression darkening briefly. "After what Alpha Green did to her... this news is exactly what Emma needed."
"The timing is almost unbelievable," I added, leaning against his chest. "If the baby had been conceived even a week later..."
"The Moon Goddess protects her own," Jace stated firmly. "I'm just glad we got to Alpha Green before he could do more damage."
"Caleb's looking better too," I said, changing the subject.
"Your help is making a difference for many." Jace kissed my forehead. "What did Dr. Maya say about your condition?"
I hesitated. "She thinks I might deliver early. But don't worry, Atlas is healthy."
Jace's eyes brightened. "We might meet our son sooner?"
I nodded, feeling warm despite the day's emotional ups and downs. Our family was growing, the pack was healing, and we'd soon move to new territory.
I mentioned Aurora would return from training soon and that I'd made her favorite snacks. But Jace grabbed my hand, his eyes intense.
"You always find hope in the worst times," he said.
I tried to dismiss this, but his look stopped me.
"First Aurora, then Caleb, now Emma," he continued. "Even after Warren's attack, you turned pain into healing."
"I was just there when—"
"No," Jace interrupted. "You chose to be there. You find light where others see only darkness."
His words hung between us, leaving me speechless.
"Do you know why the Moon Goddess protects our pack?" he asked softly.
I shook my head.
"Because you taught us to look out for each other," he said simply. "Something even I had forgotten."
A sudden strong kick from my belly made me gasp.
"It's Atlas," I smiled, taking Jace's hand and placing it where our son was moving. "Feel that?"
The moment Jace's palm touched my belly, Atlas kicked again, harder this time.
"He's strong," Jace said proudly. "Ready to join us."
Another forceful kick made us both laugh.
"He can't wait to meet you," I said, touching Jace's face. "To meet us both."
Jace looked up at me, his eyes soft and warm.
